  • This bottle was a little off from prior tastings......a little one dimensional and not fruit forward. I hope this is not a sign that it is tiring. I have 2026 down as the last year of the drink window for this wine. However, I have had a couple of wines of this type roll over very quickly.

  • Beautifully smooth, not much fruit left but still jolly good with strawberry, liquorice and cedar...

  • Clear medium red, no bricking. Medium nose, garrigue, berries, earth and beef broth. Dry balanced warm cherry, thyme and beef broth flavours and a nice dry finish.

A lovely middle aged traditional CdP. Not at all unbalanced by ripe Grenache.

  • Exactly like a bottle consumed late summer of 2021. Still drinking very well.....and well above its price point. Classic CNdP. I have 2026 down as the last year in the drink window. No sign of a decline setting in.

  • Beautiful nose of an array of spices, anise, sandalwood incense, something very high-toned like a top shelf Rye whisky, hot stones, herb de Provence and brooding black fruits. Very full bodied and rich without being heavy. This has great freshness and even some acidity for being this ripe. What a treat! Loaded with sweet black and blueberry fruit, spice, lavender and rosemary. What’s. Fantastic wine. This is mature, but I hesitate to call it “fully mature” Bc it has so many great years ahead of it. I have consumed over two cars and have well over a case left but rue the fact I didn’t buy even more! Drink now-2032+ 95

  • Red fruit combines with garrigue, graphite and Mediterranean spice to create a beautifully texture CdP. Soft aromatics but delightful on the palate. At age twelve, this wine is singing nicely. Good juice.

  • Nose is getting slightly muddled from age, but still loaded with roasty black cherry, grilled herb switches and a bit of cherry cough syrup. Quite full-bodied and loaded with sweet cherry and blackberry fruit deftly balanced by a tannic backbone. This has now reach maturity. Drink now-2026 (though I'll still have a few bottles around to try in 2035+) 93

  • Right on top of other bottles of this one I have consumed in recent years. Was a crowd pleaser at a restaurant. Opened for most of an hour with no decant. Still in a great drink window and showing no signs of tiring. This is one of the best values in my inventory right now.

  • Identical to a bottle consumed in January. Opened at a restaurant for one hour plus. No decant. Delivers a drinking experience well beyond the price point.

  • Opened for about 45 minutes at a restaurant. No decant. Continues to be in a very good drink window. It delivers an experience that I would expect from a wine at least twice the price of this one.

  • Medium red with clear edges. Ripe kirsch, raspberry jam, vanilla spice and black cherry nose. Strawberry jam, cherry jam and vanilla flavours and a hot dry rich finish.

  • Notes of dark red fruit, potpourri, garrigue and Mediterranean spice glide
across the palate. The nose is aromatically pleasing. Good depth and structure. This is a great expression of and entry level CdP. Drinking wonderfully at age ten. Good juice.

  • Intense red fruit, strawberry, raspberry, cranberry, also blueberry. Then smoke, herbs, rosemary, thyme, black pepper. Maybe sour cherry a little on the palette. Nice structure, tannin and good acidity. Really excellent, and I got it in a bin end sale for £20.

  • Earlier bottles of this wine were good, but over the past two plus years it has moved up a notch. I have other Chateauneuf-du-Papes that cost a lot more, but are not one bit better. The wine is in a great drink window. It is time to enjoy it.

  • Tannins smoothed our. Red berry, rosemary, thyme, leather. Little lighter on palatecweight for CNP. Decanted one hour. Solid wine. Paired with peppered crusted filet.

  • Heady nose singes the nostril hairs a bit! Aside from Etoh, there are rich, very dark, very ripe/cooked fruits. The palate is super smooth with just the barest rough-edge to the tannin and bright acidity. This is nearing maturity. Round and voluptuous and great with the right food (in this case, Chinese). • Red fruit complimented by Mediterranean spice and garrigue. Aromatically pleasing. Silky texture with good depth. This wine continued to improve in the glass even after a one hour decant. Good juice.

  • This one is drinking very well right now. I rated this bottle a little higher than the couple of bottles I drank 2+ years ago. It might evolve to an even better place, but there is no reason to not be drinking it now. Had it at a restaurant without a decant......open for 30-45 minutes. It might have benefited from a decant. The style is classic CNdP with, perhaps, a slight bias to being a little less fruit forward than some of these wines can exhibit.

  • Tasted over two days, and it showed best on the second. Dried desert fruits, mincemeat, hints of bacon, umami, and a kiss of bret. Compact and fairly piercing for CdP. A tremendous pairing with rustic pork sausage. Probably five to seven years from peaking.

  • Very typical CDP. Black fruit w some prune and fuller red fruit on back end. Good value.

  • As usual, this wine always over-delivers! Beautiful nose of roasting meats and black cherry compote as well as copious quantities of fresh herbs and spices. Specifically loads of lavender and rosemary. Very full bodied and ripe but still fresh, this wine caresses the palate. It is just so (dangerously) easy to drink! This is just starting to show some mature characteristics, I’m glad I have more, but can’t remember if I have 1 or 2 unopened cases! The flavors mirror the aromas and this wine has 2-3 more years in its youthful stage, then should enter into a long slow, mature plateau. 94

  • Fully ready to go, this is all about the sweet, fresh, clean, pure kirsch, black raspberry, spice and floral notes. Elegant, soft and silky, there is a great quality to the medium bodied, refined. red fruits that gets you ready for another sip, again and again.

  • Celebrating New Years Eve dinner at friend's house one month late as couldn't (unusually) get together on the actual date.
Another contribution from a fellow diner. Accompanied the English cheese platter. Dense, ripe red/black berry fruit flavours with dashes of spice and liquorice in good concentration.
Seemed on its plateau of excellence to me with perhaps 2-3 years at this level. An unexpected star of the dinner. 90?+

  • This is probably my 20th+ bottle of this wine. Although it lost its baby fat about 2 years ago, this continues to drink very youthfully. Heady nose, full of ripe black and red fruits, baked cherries herb switches. Sweet palate, but with plenty of bright acidity and medium tannins. Full-bodied and more HdP on the palate as well as chocolate covered cherries. Delicious now, this needs another 3-4 years to reach maturity and should last to age 20. 93

  • Quite dark ruby, well balanced nose with broad flavours. The palate is even more intense, compact and berry lke, almost dried fruit, with vanilla. For my taste a bit too porty/thick but good, still has very good structure.

  • This was a bit more reticent than past bottles. Once finally open, this is very delicious, but not as aromatic as some in the past. This may be entering a dumb phase. This easily has 10+ years under its belt, and might (for the first time) be better after 3-5 years slumber. Still thick, rich and concentrated with plenty of tannin. 93 df 9.2

  • Mighty fine CdP. Crushed black cherry, subtle chocolate and a touch of anise on the palate, with a slight hint of menthol on the nose. There's medium grained tannins along with some medium acidity to balance out the ripe dark fruit on the medium to long finish.

  • Ripe, supple and already delicious, the wine is sweet, fat and filled with fresh, jammy berries and licorice. The wine was produced using 100% organic farming techniques and was consulted by Philippe Cambie.
