Deep, Rich, earthiness, and complex flavors that are amazing for wine at this price point. A touch of rust. A touch of rusticity adds another dimension. A great pairing with some grilled meat.

89/90. A nice fullish wine with complex leathery aromas of limestone infused blueberries, flowers, cranberries, coffee and mint hints. Its medium bodied solid yet smooth decently oaked flowery palate has decent opulence and good freshness. Ends mediumish, fresh and tapering. Lay down 5 years+. 13.5%. Had this with Axoa de Veau and this was a perfect match.

Grilled meats, an inviting sweet tone, a hint of smoke. Would guess this were a Spanish wine in a blind tasting. Great at the price and drinking perfectly at this age.

375 mL format. Consumed over a couple of hours after a long day of cellar inventory. Medium bodied. Dark fruit on the nose. Still very primary. Finely grained tannins with moderate grip on the finish. No food with it but I imagine it would pair well with a sausage-laden pizza, stinky cheese or a hearty stew. Fine for what it is, a hearty daily red that you don't have to debate much over whether to crack it or not. Cellared since purchase.

Un bon petit vin de table, quoiqu'un peu rustique, sur les fruits noirs, bleuets, chêne et cuir. En bouche c'est moyennement corsé et l'alcool est bien perceptible. Meilleur avec le repas...

2 hour decant. Ich. Urk. Gurggle. One trick pony and that pony is burying your face in mud. Warmed up in the second day to somewhat dusty sludge that reminded me of...well...slightly old mud. No idea why I bought this. Maybe it will work as a cooking wine.
Insanely good wine here. Very baked earth, plum, but not over-ripe as those flavors would normally indicate for me, plus spice and black olive and brine, meaty and funky wine for roasts or for the cellar. Can't believe I hadn't discovered this 'til now.
Nose: Interesting nose of exotic spices and tar with predominate inky/Stargazer lilly aromas. The latter component I have noticed before in Cahors wines. Palate: Soft styled upon pop & pour with the inky/lilly qualities along with black fruits and scortched earth. Finish is a little light but that's really the only overt flaw. Very accessible now this was drunk alone, but could go well with grilled fare or pot roast. At $16 on sale not a bad value although I've had more compelling Cahors wines at slightly better prices. Still merits 90 points due to the cool, unique nose.

Tannins seem to be gaining the upper hand over the fruit. Closed down. Preferred in its youthful exuberance. Still a very good value, and an opportunity to taste a Cahors at a good price point.

This is amazing for the price point. Great liveliness to it. It has a depth of flavors with earthy tones backed up by fruit. Great Lynch import that I will be buying more of soon.

Good dark fruit, mineral and structure, but tight at this point. Too young to drink now w/o long decanter time. Best to let it rest. Plenty here to indicate very good potential with age.

Juicy, earthy, and fruity. Good concentration, and a good expression of Cahors terroir. There is a problem with balance, low acid and tannins it seems, which make this more of a fun wine than a serious one.

Deep purple color. Nice nose with some meat, spice, dark cherries and minerals. Taste is similar. Medium finish with drying tannins but ripe and balanced. I think could stand a little more time in the cellar but drinking well enough now. Recommend. 88+.

Popped and poured. At first it was enjoyable but tannic and a little flat, after an hour and a half it really opens up and smooths out transforming into a high quality wine. Notes of bitter raspberry and tobacco. Patience is rewarded with this one.
