We pnp'd at lunch. Dark fruit on the nose. The palate was dark berries, plums, tobacco, hints of spice and smoke that led to a moderately long smooth finish. Still in its youth - I probably should put my remaining bottles away for a few years as I still have 05's, 07's and 08's to drink.

Deep dark very ripe fruit, intense wet stones and delicate Mediterranean herbs. Tannins are finer than I expected and acids are refreshing, the alcohol is quite obvious but in perfect balance for the style, this has no unpleasant heat, in my opinion, and fresh ripe fruit shines through long on the finish. There's heft and texture here, but it also feels light and elegant. A testament to, and justification of, the big hype surrounding the "great names" of Priorat, which don't really have much of a track record at this point; this wine is fabulous today. It will continue to drink beautifully, and still has potential to improve. I'm thinking well kept bottles will be far more interesting in 10 or 20 years.

Does not seem old to me. Very aromatic - dark fruit, wood, maybe a touch alcoholic. Full bodied. A touch dry to start, but became fruitier over the course of the evening. Better paired with food

Decanted an hour at Clos Maggiore, this went from good to great! End of life? doubt it. No formal notes. Nice mix of black and red fruit backed by savory bass notes. Went better with their duck than filet. Now-2028.

Still going strong. Dense in the eye, dense on the nose: cooked raspberries. Mouth with sweet/sour cherries yet overshadowed by quite some alcohol. Lingers long. Still a few years to go but will not get better. And a pity for the alcohol - 15% on the label, will be more now. Comparing this with Donnafugata’s Mille e una notta - based on another southern grape Nero d’avola - the latter wins hands down on a modest alcohol level. That said, I’m not at all fan of Grenache, and this is the only wine that I drink up.

Struck by how fruit forward this is. Youthful, has some complexity, but very primary. Good balance, lots of acidity and not as heavy or dense as one would expect from Priorat. Not sure where other tasters are getting 'dark' or 'smoke' - I don't get either of those. More red fruited to me. Some heat from the alcohol but well integrated overall. Very delicious wine, wish I had more.

Complex on the nose - notes of fruit, spices, smoked meat, tobacco. On the palate a hint of alcohol, very ripe fruit, powerful and concentrated. The tannins are ripe, still a little grippy towards the finish. Good acisity and overall balance. Fine length. Drink or keep. 92-94

A wonderful wine, my first expirience with Clos Mogador. I took my first glas with Coravin: the wine seems to be a bit too tannic, but I was impressed by the deep dark red color and the fruity notes of dark berries. When I then decorked my bottle some weeks later I was even more impressed: dark color, thick texture, nearly full body, strong stucture, a lot of secondary aromas, like thyme. Strong on day 2 as well. An impressive wine that has a minimum of 5 more years ahead...

Kleur: Diep ondoordringbaar donkerrood. Aroma / bouquet: Krachtig, donker bouquet. Donker fruit, vooral bramen en zwarte bessen, donker gedroogd fruit. Cederhout. Niet extreem expressief, wel gebalanceerd en krachtig. Smaak / Afdronk: In de mond eveneens krachtig, expressief en gebalanceerd. Zachte zuurgraad, krachtige, rijpe tannines. Mondvullend, dik-sappig, een subtiel-bittertje en een zachte 'droppigheid'. Prettige en indrukwekkend lange finale. Algemeen / potentieel: Bekentenis. This was drunk over three nights, and on the first night I would have scored this 91-92; on the second, 93-94; and 95 on the last night, when the wine had completely opened up. On the third night this showed rich red fruit (cherry, currant, raspberry); moderate black and white pepper that was more pronounced on the previous nights; and notes of anise, tapenade, and iodine evolving on the palate, with light tannins that had started out much stronger on the first night. The fruit and acidity was well in balance, and the finish was long and mouthwatering. Given how long this took to reach its potential, this needs five to ten years yet: the Cellartracker drinking window is too early by several years. After breathing for long enough, this became one of the best wines I have had this year, and at just over $65 it was a bargain; I wish I had bought more.

Nose - plum , blackberry, sour grape candy. Per Erica tobacco Mouth - tart dark fruit. More racy than I think would be broadly tolerable as a coctail wine, but with food this will rock it. And that’s not mentioning the penetrating minerality - almost graphite like, something that subtracts out impurities and leave essence of fruit. In that regard slightly StEmiliano in style. While Impressive I think this needs much more time to be ready. And food for sure.

Drank this with roast lamb. It was the first bottle of this vintage and I agree with other reviewers that it is probably a bit soon to be drinking this wine. It's still pretty sharp, though the complexities are beginning to be discernible. I'll try another bottle later in the year. It feels like it has quite a long way to go. At present, the wine is purplish coloured, with medium legs. There is moderate sediment in the bottle. Aromas of cranberry, blueberry, blackberry, fig, forest floor, stoniness, black olive and eucalyptus are present. The body is medium/full. Texture is fleshy texture, with a longish finish and medium acidity.

Dark almost purple color. Some nice fruit trying to bust through the masking oak. Simply too young, probably shouldn't rate buts something like 89-90pts right now. Needs at least 5yrs and likely more. Feels a little hefty and could use some more acid. Modern in style. 15% Alc.

Tapas & an Embarassment of Riches at Craig's (Craig & Nita's Place): Purple/red color. Drank 1 glass over an hour plus. This was pretty big and disjointed at the moment. A big, bold modern styled wine that need more time to hopefully tame it.

Decanted for an hour at dinner, drank over two. A bouquet of cassis and red fruit, with stony notes and a little spice. Firm tannins. Still too young, or maybe a little closed, the whole structure seemed a little off; try again in 2018 or so.

notes from night two. Iodine, burnt embers, sour cherry and black fruit above. Palate is still a bit tannic, but very full and long. Black fruit dominates, mild black olive and garrigue. Has 10 years left at least.

White Burgundy, C9duP and Priorat (@ PC): Not so many notes. Beautiful bouquet with ripe red and dark berry fruits. Same on the palate. A lot of sweetness and also good acidity and mild tannin. Giving itself much more than the bottle I tasted last year. Early maturity stage now. As written in my previous note; 2017 might be a nice moment to start drinking this wine. 91+ for tonight.

Mouth - delicious blackberry, juicy, acidic, highly acidic per Erica , really a lovely and lively wine. Dry fine tannins with a hint of cocoa. Love this stuff, can't have enough

Lovely and rich with good complexity. Bold fruit, spice, a touch of oak and a long finish. Much more muted on the second day.

12 hour decant
nose - fudge and quite oaky
mouth - full big and brooding, very tart wild berries with huge mouth coating tannins. shows potential but rather disjointed, i presume on account of its youth. Based on my faith in this label, I predict the acidity will come in line. retry in 3 yrs.

Cassis and cherries in the bouquet. Beautiful oak as well. On the palate the same fruits, some bell peppers as well. The wine has a lot of acidity, firm tannin and bitterness. Beautiful and concentrated, but much too young. Wait until 2017 at least. 90+ for now with potential for a few points more.
