The nose is very fresh, with lime, green apple and hints of oak. Tense and coiled on the palate, it builds on layers of fruit and minerals, wrapped in a rich and spicy shell, with excellent balance and structure. Great definition of flavors on the palate, which lasts through the extensive finish. A fantastic example of what the 2011 vintage can offer in white Burgundies. What a treat.

On the nose, initially, strong matchstick/gunflint, which quickly opened up revealing oak/butter, light citrus, and some cherries. Over time, more of the fruit and white blossom floral notes came out, but the gunflint smell remains prevalent in the background.
Palate-wise, medium minus body, medium plus acidity, lemon, butter, that transitions into a nice grapefruit and mineral based mid-palate that further evolved into a spiced, long, and pleasant finish. The fruit opened up a lot towards the 2nd hour.
First Coche -- amazing!

Wow, just wow..! Maybe the best showing of Coche's standard Meursault I've ever had. This bottle was so pure, so elegant. It showed some butter and nuts, and just a tad popcorn. It showed Coches typical power, but still elegancy and finesse with an absolute stunning balance between acidity and fruit. Still have 1 bottle in the cellar. Although it's ready to go, I'm intrigued to let the last one sit for quite some time more. A delight, served in a dinner together with other exeptional wines.

Decanted for 3 hours. Served blind in a flight of 4 2011s, 2 from Chablis and 2 from Meursault. Run away favorite wine of the flight. This delivered the full Coche experience, flinty lemons on the soaring nose that would not quit. Tart, young and energetic palate, lean with chalky drying tannins. Outstanding cut, definition and energy, on the austere side for Coche, this is built to last.

Wow! Unlike the 2011 I had just a month ago which absolutely required hours in the decanter before it could strut its stuff, this bottle was wide open from the start. Much less reduction. Love the verve and cut in this vintage. Its stunning bouquet jumps from the glass wafting its white flowers, popcorn, citrus oils, crushed rocks and those craveable Coche fireworks. The palate is tense, vibrant and as always, has incredible texture, depth and weight for a village wine.

It’s at the 3 hour mark in the decanter where it really comes alive. Reduction settles down and Coche fireworks awaken. It always amazes me how deep and long on the palate village Coche is. It has such radiant energy and cut in this vintage balancing its richness seamlessly. The last sip makes me sad. So good.

Coche Dury's 2011 Meursault village (Domaine et Sélection bottling sourced from Vireuils Dessous) starts off with that signature integrated reduction before revealing lemon oil, popcorn, and crushed stone. Just killer acidity, mouthwatering, but the wine has such concentration it achieves balance. Excellent persistence. This'll drink well for another decade or so.

Tasted side by side Coche Rougeots 94 and after Meursault village 13 & 15. Out of the straight village Coches this was my and the table's favourite. To me it just pipped the wonderful 15. The 11 was in a beautiful spot - nothing missing yet nothing in excess, just great balance and brimming of fruit and a nice little salty knack towards the finish. Mind boggling good for the level and vintage. 94+

Matchstick and flint. The reduction here is heavy-handed in a Coche signature sort of way, although almost too much. Almost. Toasty. Very juicy. The salinity and acid are piercing. Searing finish. An extremely impressive wine. Even has a bit of the blue bubblegum detail. 93 - 94 already.

A lunch in Belgium to celebrate the New Year in style. We drank this after the 2012 François Raveneau Chablis 1er Cru Montée de Tonnerre and it was even slightly better! Classic Coche nose with a pallet that is way too big for a Village wine without loosing balance. Delicious!

Wow, what disappointment (despite my high score and 'like'). First time I had Coche-Dury Meursault was with a friend in Paris, the 2004 villages drank in 2013 from his own cellar. It was the wine that really turned me onto white Burgundy, as it was simply magical in every way to me. Bought this one over three years ago, and opened it for a very big bday for my wife, and our 10th anniversary (same week). While very nice, and quite deep and long, it was very reticent/tight/quiet over the two nights. It just never opened up and put all that Coche magic on display – which is a shame as I opened it for my wife, who had not yet tasted a Coche-Dury white. It was a let-down, but perhaps my expectations were just too high. Though she loves white Burgundy and just thought this was 'nice.' Crazy to me that it is now being sold for $700 at Crush, when I got it for half of that three years ago. The most expensive wine I have every purchased, and just not that pleased. Perhaps too young, and just should have waited, although this was a very worthy occasion.

Always has high expectation with Coche Dury and it rarely disappoint. Initial flint turned into blossom white floral, citrus, lime and gorgeous mineral. The bouquet keeps developing till very last drop of the 3 hours dinner. Lovely palate with superb weight for a 11 village. Delicious and pure fruits paired with vibrant acidity. Definitely can keep in cellar for at least 5 years at it's peak. The 93 points given is in Coche Dury's high standard.

I've been lucky enough to have this wine 3 times in the last month and it just gets better every time. Lime, minerality, and the tartness is getting less pronounced with time. The precision is laser like. Had it next to a 2001 coche rougeots that was oxidative at first but blew off in 20 minutes or so and turned out to be a beautiful wine. Took that wine significantly more time to come into focus.

Coche and Cathiard: L3. Smoke, white and yellow florals, orange rind and melon on the nose. Really good richness on the palate, with the fruit showing off some layers that I haven't found on this wine previously. The acidity has good presence and gives it some precision through to a very good length finish. Excellent, and even though the other 2011s stole the show tonight, it put up a good fight.

Coche & Cathiard -- Go Big Then Go Home (Double Bay, Sydney): A gorgeous Coche, with a touch of sulfur alongside the enticing, concentrated minerality. Notes of lime and some lemon oil, held in check by tight and precise tension. This bodes well for those with patience.

That gorgeous Coche integrated reduction leads to a perfumed nose of lemon oil, wild flower, and crushed rock. Slightly less complex on the palate, with citrus flavors wrapping a mineral core. As usual for Coche-Dury, the concentration here is amazing for a village wine.

Veldig flott steinmineralkick i finish. Lang ettersmak.

Dinner at Osteria Langhe (Chicago, IL): There's something that I really love about the Coche style. It's got all that reductive minerality that I seek in Meursault, but on top of that, there's also this buttery, heavily oaked texture that no one else seems to be able to replicate. There's even a bit of sweet caramel here, but it's all held in balance by insanely taut white acidity and dense minerality. There is a real thickness to the texture of this wine as well, almost like a syrupy concentration, but none of the accompanying goop or cloying sweetness. Looking back at this, there's a huge pile of words, but at the end of the day, Coche is Coche.

Lunch with JM Roulot and JM Fourrier. Very struck match and lemon aromatically, fun... power without weight, long. Really don't get why they don't designate the vineyard.
2016 Villa d’Este Wine Symposium - Kelly, Alan and Kevin's excellent adventure; 11/3/2016-11/12/2016 (Villa D’este, Lake Como, Piedmont, Milan and Frankfurt): Generous yet vibrant nose displaying Coche flint, lemon curd, lemon oil, lime, smoke, toasted oak and seashell. Excellent concentration especially for a village Meursault, rich and generous yet vibrant and energetic citrus fruit driven palate impression, bright acidity and strong mineral presence and a long clean finish with a hint of flint at the end. The overall expression is straightforward. However the concentration and energy exceed most producers’ 1er crus Meursault. Raphael addressed the wine as narvaux rather than village.

SLDS Backups and Blowouts: Mint, spice, smoke, melon and floral notes. Has good richness on the palate, while there is a softness upfront it is really quite approachable and ends up feeling well balanced when the acidity cuts in at the mid-palate. Very good, maybe lacking a little interest to be better though.

Lunch with Helen, Lorenzo and friends: The bouquet alone suggested something special. Aromas of small meadow flowers, pears, citrus and flint ("flinty popcorn" said Helen). I had thought the Genevrières a 1er and here I was thinking Grand Cru. And I wasn't thinking Corton-Charlamagne, more in the Criots, Bâtard range, when of course it was just a humble Villages wine ... I don't know how Coche does it ... the beautiful, lacey, vibrant acidity and ripe, rich almost opulent fruit. You sense the vanillin oak but it's well aligned and integrated. Lemon, pear and white peach notes with struck match and chalk and underpinned by fruit weight and power. Beautifully balanced. Superb!

Third time I have this wine in 1 year, same notes apply. Typical Coche nose, but more restrained than in 2010, i.e. not as much flint and gunpowder. Very good acidity profile, which kind of overrides the fruit, which is there in abundancies udnerneath the whole package. I love the white 2011's in general and Coche is just a very good example of how to achieve optimal balance with a riveting nose.

The typical Coche perfume folded out after 20 min in the glass. Crisp and clean, typical 2011, which is very classy and better than first expected. Great acidity, ripe (but not too much) fruit, and a medium finish. Great with turbot! Coche always delivers big time!
Completely enticing aromatic start with ripe orchard fruit, sweet brown spice and late summer flowers. Palate is slightly less engaging, but still lots of great fruit with nice spice. Good now, but I expect the structure will soften and integrate better in another year or two.

Served blind I thought it was a decent Meursault, but not great. It just didn't have the precision I like in a great Burgundy but it was good enough. I had no idea it was Coche Dury and was disappointed when it was revealed. I've had Bourgognes from Coche that were consistently more interesting than this wine.

The 2011 Coche Dury Mersault AOC is very compelling. The aromatics offer up a classic and typical Coche spectrum of lemon oil, pear, pain grillé and vanilla oak, and on the palate the wine has lovely depth and bright framing acidity. Right now this bottling is still youthful, and certainly benefits from a decant, but while it is likely to be an earlier-drinking vintage from Coche, it still really demands another five or six years in the cellar to begin to unwind.

Klar. Ren. M+ intens. Fat, touch brioche, epler, zest, rik gul frukt, hvit stenfrukt. Sten. Meget elegant, ungt, sexy. Meget bra vin. Tilgjengelig. Blir bedre med luft.

My number 900 note! So, it has to be a special bottle, and for sure I have tasted one! The Meursault 2011 is very special. Crystal clear, not as 'Meursault' as you maybe would expect, but its backbone, so pure, so delicate, such a fine acidity (tasted recently also in the La Forest 2002 from Dauvissat) and lenght, not by its weight, but by its extreme elegance. Tasted in Le Chevreuil in Meursault. The wine supported perfectly a lovely dinner. 94+

First taste of the Coche Meursault 11. Much less toast and wood on the nose than previous vintages. Even more flint and crushed rocks on the nose than usual, due to the vintage I suspect. Linear attack, medium weight on the mid-palate with lemon and lote of minerals. Again the wood is in the background on the palate. After some time in the glass, the heavier (less volatile) aromas comes forward and you get butter and fatness on the palate as well, although still in the background. The finish is carried by the acidity, and it is very fresh and easy to drink (finished half a bottle for lunch...)

Offline at new Bentley CBD: Lot # 3. Lemon scented, with flint, ginger, grapefruit and musky florals. Initially feels slightly broad on the palate but it focusses back in quite superbly toward the mid palate and finish - ending up with a feeling of precision. Plenty going on with this wine. 91-92

Loads of Coche flint on the nose along with some aniseed and white peach. It is so tight with a mineral and floral edge. It is built like red wine with a huge puff of chalky extract on the finish. Great cut, potential and balance, just needs time.

Another delicious bottle. great minerality- Oysters shells and lime tons of tension. So precise and clean compared to the 09 that I got to taste next to it.

Coche Corton dinner. Struck match, pretty full, high acidity. Don't drink next to 10x CCCs.

Vague d'Or. Seriously reductive, flint, citrus and became more exotic after an hour. Tense, energetic, firm and persistent.

Steely, mineral nose with some orchard fruit and wet stone. Lots of flint and matchstick on the palate. A little lean and tight on the finish. Needs time.

Breathed for 3 hours, sharp citrus nose with slight honey, flint, and stone fruit. Medium palate with good concentration, rather forward acidity. Backend pretty tight but filled with minerals. Will be awesome in a few years time.

Balansert, meget friskt, en elegant letthet som bare overstyres av litt fatspice. Litt fatsødme, toucher mot sider av beste sort. Sødmen? God+ lenger på finish, dominert av syre og fat. Kuttet litt kort av ungt fat.
