PNP. No formal notes, reviews here are mixed, but I had a very nice bottle. Moderate sediment. Explosively expressive nose in the best way. Everything is fully resolved and ready to go. Full bodied, but nicely balance. Drinking at peak for me, but no rush.

Opaque in color. In the nose of the bottle I tried, there's a touch of oxidation. Otherwise, it reflects green olive on top of olallieberry, indicative of the vineyard's southern eastside location in Napa Valley. Aggressive approach with good fruit and still a lot of tannin. Nowhere near its peak, judging from the tannins, tho the oxidation in the nose is troublesome. 14.5% alcohol.

The wine looks inky colored. The legs are slow. There is light sediment in the bottle. It smells like raspberry, black currant (cassis), cherry, forest floor, smokey bacon, oak and violet. It tastes like black currant (cassis), cherry, plum, dust, oak, vanilla and violet. The body is full. The wine has leathery texture. The wine finishes long. The wine has medium acidity. Cigar notes.

This bottle seems to be the best of my bunch. Sadly it's my last. A surprising amount of cigar box on the nose, on the palate there is more dark red fruit, full-bodied, some spice, well balanced with a smooth short- to medium-length finish.

Rather pleasant. Currants, licorice, and a hint of earthiness. Reasonably rich, but with a so-so fiish. For me, the prematurely subdued tannins made it a less-than-ideal match with food (which was a strip steak). Definitely drink soon, by itself or with lighter food. I've finally concluded that this is Craig's "restaurant wine", since it doesn't require (or reward) much aging.

No formal tasting notes, I drank this a while back. This was my last bottle of this and it was very good. This was $40 back when I bought it but now $65 because it is now estate sourced. I would bump up and pay for the Mt. Veeder which is an excellent bottle for the money.

Smells great, but the palate doesn't live up to the nose. Something distinctively bitter in the taste profile. The oak is pretty well integrated at this point, ripe fruit, dark chocolate. Threw a lot of fine sediment.

Nice wine, but nothing to write home about. Good nose - currants and a healthy dose of licorice. Currants on the palate, along with some pleasant (not overbearing) earthiness, which I found appealing. Medium body. Somewhat rich, but not nearly as rich as higher end California cabernets. So-so finish. Solid wine that met my modest expectations, but certainly didn't exceed them.

Plum, dark berries, tobacco, a bit of menthol. Mid-weight. The tannins are resolved and this drinks very smoothly. A touch of bitterness at the end. But this held up over two nights with little change. Look forward to next bottle in another 3 years or so.

Notes from memory. In a tight window but opened up with 4-5 hours of air. Rich, concentrated, and nice depth and length. The purity of blackberry and blackcurrant fruit is balanced nicely with soy sauce, wild herbs, and dried tobacco. Technical score: 93. Enjoyment score: 93.

For ~$40 this is great stuff. Tightly woven black and blue fruits, well integrated oak and acid, smooth tannins. A very nice wine, not especially complex but I think it will continue to improve for 5-10 years before tailing off. It beats some $100 wines I've had lately.

It took some time in the decanter for this wine to achieve optimum drinking level. Around the 3 hr mark it started to come together. Nose of sweet black cherry and tea leaf. Balanced palate of sweet red fruit with moderate acid and tannins. Medium finish. At the usual retail price this wine delivers, at the sale price of $35 it is a homerun. Holding my other 2 bottles until 2016.

Very good wine for the tariff. Vanilla and creamy nose with mocha and raspberry. Soft tannins for such a young wine. Needs a little time though but not too much, not sure if fruit strong enough to withstand long aging. Plan on drinking remaining bottles in 1-5 years.

84/8/4/2/2 Cabernet/Petit Verdot/Merlot/Franc/Malbec. 65% new French oak. Not particularly aromatic, nose of vanilla, black cherry, light oak. Pretty soft profile for Cab, pretty blended layers of blackberry, cassis, chocolate, cinnamon, sweet spice, oak is well integrated. This is so approachable for Napa style, to the point that big Napa lovers might want something more. Beautiful wine, well made, worth a second and third taste.

Good color. This is Rich and classy on the nose; good dark red fruit, cedar, flowers, and oak are the primary aromas. On the palate, this is almost full bodied with very good concentration and fine class. The finish shows silky tannins and good acidity. Long.

Disjointed, rough, tannic. Although the wine will smooth out in a few years, it seems likely to be like so many other Affinities. Short drinking window before the fruit will fall off.

Not the typical RC Affinity (which I do like) this vintage has a little funk to it and it's much more reserved although very well balanced. The 09s were big Cabs, big fruit, big tannin. These are quite different but still very good.

Long.

Nice round, smooth, big mouthfeel. Loads of layers to this. Got some movie popcorn hints in it this time around.
