Bright gold. Intense nose, showing honey, quince, pear, pineapple, apricot and beeswax. Medium- body. Lacking acidity for my liking but I guess that is to be expected for the variety and its age. Good wine but past its best now.

Superb drinking right now. Honey, peach, melon aromas balanced by a light, enjoyable acidity (far cry from a young bottle). Immediately after opening some interesting kerosene armies, like in a dry, aged Riesling.

{screwcap, 13.5%} Now quite a deep gold. Intense, developed nose of vanilla and citrus. But there's still a grassy sort of greenness to it, hinting at an eternal youth beneath. The palate is aging but lively, with a dance of citric fruit, hints of honey and marzipan and nougat, always dry, with medium acidity, medium/full weight, and a medium/long finish. I imagine this has hit peak, but feels like it will hold for another half-decade easy. All hail the screwcap!

Mini Verticals - Tasted Blind: Extremely different in style to the 2014 it was next to. Really appealing nose, honeysuckle, spice, apple and earth. Textured and interesting but also tasty to drink. Has an acid line that is quite vibrant. Drink now and over the shorter term.

Nicely refrshong. Melon and peach on the nose. Steely, tight wine. Clean and crisp. Melon predominates with a touch of honey to add complexity. Medium length finish. I like it.

Still pale lemon colour. Very interesting aroma, smallest hint of green but generally floral and straw. Lovely well balanced palate, soft but with good structure. Excellent.

Perhaps the best Tahbilk Marsanne I had but let's be clear I don't think this wine is a classic many believe it to be. Still holding plenty of primary fruit but there's a layer of honey kicking in. Nose certainly points to age with an old pongy character. Will hold for another 3yrs+.

{screwcap, 13.5%} Similar to last year. Waxy, dense wine with lanolin flavours. Aging, but has some acidity to hold it still, although was rather blander the second night. Dry. Drink over the next couple of years.

{screwcap, 13.5%} Mid yellow. Developing nose of vanilla bean, nougat, slightly waxy touch. Interesting and authentic. Palate has that classic marsanne pungency, with medium acid, medium-weight, but a rather short, mostly-front-palate finish. There's a distinct vanilla nod to the flavours - without suggesting oak - and a honeysuckle touch, although the wine is bone-dry on the palate. A moderate-quality offering from this label; perhaps unlikely to improve much further, but seems set to hang on for quite a while. Drink over the next 5 years.

Developed colour and nose. As previous review suggests, a somewhat unusual character on the nose, but attractive with hallmark honey, yet savoury nose. Mid weight. Quite forceful. Very nice. Unsure if it will improve further.

A strange nose; a sour, floral tang with some wood in the background. Initially I suspected something wasn't quite right with the taste, but then decided it was a complex of different flavours, including citrus acidity, running through it. The mid palate and finish has some petrochemical and bitterness, overall it was unusual, but not unpleasant - a thought provoking white. 87-88pts.

{screwcap, 13.5%} Plenty of marzipan and nougat here, but always dry. Thick, full texture. Hard to imagine a more solid wine without the assistance of oak. At least medium-bodied, although despite the powerful flavours the finish doesn't exactly linger forever. A hot droughty vintage I'm guessing? Interesting and enjoyable, but I don't think it'll make old bones. Give it 5 years max.

Clear, intense golden yellow core that leads out to a small white rim. wine looks youthful. Clean, bright grassy lemon zest notes with bold tropical fruit salad notes. Reminds me a bit of pineapple upside down cake. The palate is dry, much dryer than the nose let on with moderate + acid and a full fruit forward body. Melon, cantaloupe, pine-sol, honeydew flavors with a light creaminess and a average length finish that echoes minerality. Excellent quality coupled with a low price point makes this wine a must try/buy. Drinking well right now but i think this wine shows definite short term aging potential. drink now or hold - 2013

{cork, 12.5%, $9} Don’t know why I bother writing notes on this wine, really. Right out of the box, some shy mineral / lanolin / stone fruit aromas. The usual mysterious acid on the palate – seems absent until you look for it. A pleasant wine at this age, but it’s just so worth keeping until it’s five years old. You want young, go to Hunter semillon or Clare riesling.

WSET Dinner - Certificate awarding (Edinburgh Hotel, Surry Hills): Muted nose, anonymous stone fruits and a minerally note keep everyone guessing (poured blind, but that screwcap bottle misleads…). In retrospect, a typical example of this wine; indistinct acid while young, but a tightness that suggests it will age well enough. Keep.

Floral honeysuckley nose, carries over to palate, plus citrus, petrol, some apple. Quite difficult to pin this down.
