long finish, very good, mix of primary red and some cooked red fruits, some oak, some oxidation (strawberry liquorice/cough syrup on the palate which is a bit disappointing), some vegetal and leaves. Drink now- don't age, no primary left. The wine looks ruby colored. There is light sediment in the bottle. It smells like strawberry, blackberry, strawberry jam and sherry. The body is medium. The wine finishes long. The wine has medium acidity.

I agree with other comments - no nose, flat taste, zero tannins. It’s beyond it’s useable age, and it was stored at 58 degrees in a humidity controlled environment. The cork was like-new minus the mahogany end from contact with the wine

I don't know if I had a different experience from everyone else but this has to be one of the worst wines I have had this year. There is nothing going on with the nose, it was flat. The palate is full bodied, but no taste what so ever. It again was flat, no vibrancy, no life. Gave it some time to see if it opened up - but nothing.
Maybe I had a flawed bottle, but overall really poor. First time trying Artemis and will be my last.

Deep garnet color. Aroma of cassis, new leather and wood. Flavor is balanced between cassis syrup, black cherry skin, fresh leather, brown sugar and light oak. Finish is elegant and long. Forget what they say about a light year, I think too many people expect super fruit forward, over extracted wines. At 7 years old this is at its peak. Elegant and balanced.

Dark cherry in colour; hot nose of cherry, wood, cassis compote and moist soil; palate weaker than nose with sour notes; slightly out of balance - more fruit needed to stand up to the acidity and alcohol; thin mouthfeel with short finish; not worth the price point

45m decant. Big cherry nose, very little fruit in the mouth. Paired with a spicy peanut chicken dish and it was fantastic - smooth glycerin. Without food smells great but is discombobulated on the tongue. Looking forward to 2011 being a distant memory.

Decanted and consumed half the bottle over a few hours, rebottled the rest for the second night. It is a good wine for a tough year, not as good as other vintages. I would not expect it to get any better with more cellar time.

It's a fine cab for the money. Was very tight upon opening...I would classify it as having a very mineral, herbaceous, almost eucalyptus note to it. Totally flat on day 2.

Surprisingly more enjoyable than the 2010. An easy yet flavorful wine, agree with the comment that is perhaps a bit more thin than one would like. Delicious, just wish it finished longer.

Like many wines of this vintage, it has a soft, muted fruit however has a lovely wet rock/stone minerality jumping from the glass on the nose and on the palate that extends through the finish. A very unique vintage for sure! Feels ready to drink now, not sure this one will stand the test of time.

Found it pretty mediocre. The nose was quite pleasant - it was the palate where the wine disappointed. Admittedly, it is a fairly inexpensive cab. And it is at times hard to find good inexpensive CA cabs. Still, it is not that far, price-wise, from, say, a Robert Craig Affinity or some good Santa Cruz cabs.

Decanted for 90 minutes before first sip, found this to be a very good, modern expression of Bordeaux. Green peppers on the nose, evolving into ripe, red fruits. Not overly complex or layered, but fruit is well balanced, wrapped in soft tannins that worked well with our bavette main course. Two glasses were left over till the next day, which showed that the wine did not have the same depth or character. Well made, not overly oaked or extracted, but lacking the power and complexity for long cellaring. 2011 is drinking well now and would be surprised if it improved much with additional time.

A lot lighter than the Painted Rock Red Icon 2009. Very young purple color. A lot of oak on the nose with red berries. Same thing on the palate. Not very complex, I was expecting a lot more from this wine. Blind I would have guessed a generic Cab from California and under 20$...juicy but not special.

Ripe blackberry, dark cherry and blackcurrant with quite dominated dry wood aromas and pencil shavings undertones. Later some coffee and dried bell pepper spices are reviled. The nose actually reminds me a bit of Bordeaux.. It has a warm mouth feeling and flavours of blueberry and blackcurrant marmalade. Medium body and medium (ripe) tannins ending in a long oaky dominated finish.

Deep red with purple edges in the glass. Muted nose, minerals and red fruit, plums mostly and cherry cordial, with a whiff of alcohol. Soft, red cherries on the palate. Hints of oak, milk chocolate, and herbs. Not much tannin to speak of. Smooth. Nice way to wait for a plane in Newark with Monterey Jack cheese and crackers.
Although very pleasant in the moment, I'm not sure this has enough structure to last for long in the cellar. Quite charming now in its youth.

I really did not enjoy this wine. I was at Benjamin's Steakhouse in NYC last week for a business dinner with about 20 other folks. The leader of the group ordered a magnum of this and it was worse than the house cab. After I checked the vintage (and I have a prejudice against '11 Cali), I asked the server if they had any other vintages but he replied that they did not. A few others at the table expressed their distaste as well, but the mags kept coming, 4 in all. The second really seemed cooked to my taste. All were bad, but that one was the worst of the lot. It wasn't my place to cause a big stir, so I think we exhausted their supply when we finally got a substitute: 2009 Duckhorn Cab. Wow - that was awesome, in general, but especially in comparison. I would say the wine we had (other than the bottle I perceived as cooked) was a bit green, thin, bitter (but not tannic), and just not good.

Quite a bit better than the 2009 I recently had and was unimpressed by, but still a bit lacking. Medium tannins, cherry/fruit... lacking in the earthiness I expect from a good Napa cab. Still a nice drinker, just not one to keep around for long.

as stated, not complex but quite enjoyable. this wine just disappears every time it is opened in every setting. not expensive at $45 but when it goes so fast, that adds up quickly. I think it would only improve from a bit of cellaring, but i never have waited long to open it. To make a simple comparison, I think this is as good as andrew will sorella 2010, but costs far less. both have my sweet spot of alcohol at below 14%.

At United Club in OC. The note below from the O'Hare club describes this quite well, I think. Not a lot of complexity, but a pleasant drink. More mid weight than usual for a Napa cab, but nice for sipping with cheese and crackers at the club. Some cherry and vanilla. Not a wine I'd buy for the cellar, but fine for an airport tipple.

At the United Lounge at O'Hare. Ruby black to the rim almost saturated. Cassis plum lots of vanilla and a touch of smoke on the nose. Medium weight a bit on the light side but maybe expected given the vintage slightly green tannins. Ripe but slightly herbaceous with flavored of cassis plum touch cherry vanilla and espress. A little too smoky for me and the weight of the wine doesn't support it. Would be better with a grilled rib eye.

A typical Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon in this price range. Modern and lush, there are some pleasant terroir elements as well. It shows some of the olive grove, bay leaf, and dustiness elements common to the appellation. Difficult to get excited about though.

We were highly disappointed by this wine! It was very thin compared to some lovely $12 bottles of Cab Sauv from Chile we have drank. The nose and the taste was more of a Pinot Noir. We bought 2 so the remaining bottle will be buried in the back of the cellar to try in several years. 2014.07.15 we were very pleasantly surprised when we opened the second bottle. The first bottle must have been flawed

Although very pleasant in the moment, I'm not sure this has enough structure to last for long in the cellar. Quite charming now in its youth.

A lot of fruit and spices. Not much on the nose. light in color. Could age 5 more years brute drinking. Over rated at 40 bucks. Typical for napa valley in same vintage

PnP. Medium dark ruby/purple color. Slow legs. Plum, blackberry, cocoa and mild green vegetal nose. Ripe black cherry, blackberry, coffee, soy sauce and tomato palate. Good balance. Soft leather texture. Medium finish.

Tasted immediately after the 2011 Hands of Time red; this war marginally better. Serious bouquet, very flamboyant. Lots of terroir elements throughout. 90-91.

Quite a bit better than the 2009 I recently had and was unimpressed by, but still a bit lacking. Medium tannins, cherry/fruit... lacking in the earthiness I expect from a good Napa cab. Still a nice drinker, just not one to keep around for long.

Not much going on with this Cab. Smooth, soft tannins, softer side of Cabs. Just not very complex. Maybe need to try another bottle sometime.

as stated, not complex but quite enjoyable. this wine just disappears every time it is opened in every setting. not expensive at $45 but when it goes so fast, that adds up quickly. I think it would only improve from a bit of cellaring, but i never have waited long to open it. To make a simple comparison, I think this is as good as andrew will sorella 2010, but costs far less. both have my sweet spot of alcohol at below 14%.

A massive and flamboyant offering. Not my style but there sure is alot of it. Probably best with thick, well-marbled beef.

I enjoyed this with my brother & sister-in-law during a family dinner. We all liked it and agreed it continued to open up as we drank it over the hour +. It had some deep fruit and leathery as it finished. A nicely balanced Cabernet and overall very good.

Decanted for an hour. This wine was terribly disappointing. Save $15 and go buy Educated Guess. Honestly no better than that. This has become a horrible grocery store wine. What a shame.

paired with sous vide steaks. Approachable, full nose. Stereotypical napa cab from a high quality producer without any outstanding features. notes of cheese rind, blackberry, tobacco, bay leaf. A bit hot, but ample acidity.

A typical Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon in this price range. Modern and lush, there are some pleasant terroir elements as well. It shows some of the olive grove, bay leaf, and dustiness elements common to the appellation. Difficult to get excited about though.

Moderate to high on the alcohol I the nose, very well balanced and nice finish, nice color, hints of black cherries and plum.
I didn't pay the price but it's napa and I think it's a descent wine and a well known label. they charge the price because they can

Showed lovely cedar and cassis notes. Smooth, well-integrated tannins. Very enjoyable, should continue to be good for several more years. Can pair nicely with beef, but just as good sipped on its own.
