Marzipan, white chocolate, crumbly fudge, cooked lemon all feature on the nose. On the palette, chargrilled lemon and blanched almonds. A real sweetness on the finish. Real purity, almost like a natural spring. No sacrificing of richness though. A great showing.

Opened an hour in advance. Pale gold to the eye. Aromatically expressive with confit lemon, blowtorched meringue, polished steel, lightly pickled ginger, freshly baked white bread, and flakes of sea salt. The palate is a delight - it’s rich and concentrated with peach and nectarine leading the way, a touch of crushed chalk, and a saline-driven finish. A beautiful, complex, and layered Champagne. For those who enjoy the tension and energy of youth now would be the time to open this however, for those looking for further development this could comfortably age for well over a decade or more.

It performed really well tonight I must say. Persistent and pleasant mousse which lasted a long time. An abundance of fruit mixed with strong acidity. Pear and melon dominating together with brioche, chalk and oyster.

Performed quite well tonight. Large "pop" when opened but mousse faded over the evening. Charming nose and taste with pear, apples dominating on the fruitside. Brioche, hazelnuts and chalky minerals also dominant. A relatively sweet wine which benefits from some food.No need to hurry but no need to wait either.

PNP. Very golden yellow color with very fine bubbles. Nectar of honeycomb, pear, white tea and parchment paper on the musky nose. Very lively palate and finish that was medium long. This was a fun departure from the norm for me. There was just a single column of bubbles in the center of the glass the whole time I was drinking this.

Napa/Sonoma Trip With Some Exceptional Gems; 11/1/2017-11/5/2017 (1800ft Up Cavedale Road, Glen Ellen, CA): We opened this when we started cooking, so I didn't take any formal notes. This had very nice toast, good weight and energy with a distinct nuttiness and crisp apple fruit. Loved it. These are spectacular values too. My conclusion is we should have had 2 bottles of every Champagne we brought - they disappeared way too quickly. 93+ to 94pts.

Another great btl like the one this past March. There was a enhanced enjoyment factor sharing this btl with our friends 1800 ft up a Sonoma Mt before dinner in wine country though! Here are my 3/27/17 TNs.... Said to be 60% PN / 40% Chardonnay but felt and tasted more Chardonnay dominated. Bright but, a mature bright not, stingy bright. Crisp and focused but also; complex, intense and concentrated. A little tango, lemon, tart apple, toast and minerality. Impressive concentration, zingy freshness and downright tasty!

Fine and ample bead, pear, apple, a hint of lemon and light toasted nuts on the nose. Palate quite similar, with some lightly toasted brioche notes, though the fruit is still at the fore. This has time on its side, but it is drinking really well now and I don't think I will hold remaining bottles too much longer. It is in a sweet spot for me. Very nice drop.

Characteristic of the 2004 vintage but with more floral and particularly fruit on the nose than many 2004; peach, apricot, lychee, hints of pineapple. Beautiful balance on the palate. Full, but deft on the palate. Lighter and fresher than 2004 on balance. Subtle finish. Delicious and easy to drink.

Strågul. Lite, men små bobler i glasset. 94p

Youthful nose with a medium aroma intensity. Aromas of yeast, white bread, apples in all colors, lemon zest, chocolate biscuits and chalky minerals.
Dry with a medium+ acidity and medium body. Medium+ flavor intensity. Flavors of green and yellow apples, lemon zest, chalky minerals and yeast. Finish is medium+ and the mousse is soft and elegant.
When I'm reading my TN on this wine it seems quite boring. That is definitely not the case. I think this was a great bottle of bubbles that showed finesse, elegance and good potential but far too young right now. It was served together with Salon '96 and it wasn't outstaged in any kind of way. That is respectable.
