Screaming deal at the $30 I paid locally back in 2016. More settled than the bottle we had 3 years back. Cassis is there along with some mocha and blackberry but missing is the graphite. Tannins have softened leaving a nice luscious finish. Wouldn't hold on too much longer; recommend drink over the next 2-3 years.

PnP, consumed over several hours. Deep dark color. Nose shows cassis, blackberry, graphite, hint of coffee and oak--really like the nose. On the palate not over concentrated (yay) red and black fruits, more graphite, finishes like Earl Grey tea. Nicely balanced with the acids up front the tannins need a little more time to integrate or serve with proper food. Given how some CA cabs demand 3 figures as a starting point I feel this over delivers at 1/2 that and way over delivers at the $30 I paid earlier this year locally.

Dinner with Parents (Novi, MI): Light in body/structure, yet enjoyable to drink. This cab avoided the vegetal flavors of some unripe 2011's, and is actually fairly fruit forward. However, this lacks mid-palate density and has a short finish. So a decent wine considering the vintage, but a poor QPR.

Very dark purple in color. Nice nose. Good berry fruit on the front/mid-palate. Not as much of a finish which is why it is only a 92 rating. For an '11, it is a good bottle of wine and probably needs to be drank in the next 2-3 years. I don't believe this will be a good candidate for aging.

The colour is inky, showing density. The nose is quite large and just as pleasant as the flavour. On the palate, a good deal of good berry fruit, including cassis, plus hints of dark chocolate and espresso. One of the best Napa Cabs I've had. $60. Overall value: 3 stars of 5. Overall impression: Outstanding (91.5).

Fruity! If you'd have put this in front of me without telling me, I'd have pegged it for a Zin/Syrah blend. But it has those edgy Cab notes that I love too. Great for the price point.

Winebow Tasting with Kyle Janzen (Farmhouse Evanston): Taste with Kyle Janzen at FHE. Really nice Napa Cab at this price point. Dark cassis, leather, dark rock. Huge, complex anise. Touch of dried herbs. Fresh finish. Very accessible at this young age with a little air.

Still a fruity wine but the tannins are very smooth.
