Good grief. This is stunning. So much minerals on the nose. Lots of stones. Full bodied but not unbalanced. Oak is well integrated. Perfect balance and harmony. From TL. Incredible

Though very good, this was not outstanding. Complex aromas and flavors of citrus (lemon/lime zest), minerality, and a touch of mint. What I found lacking is the unctuousness I usually enjoy in C-C.
A big thanks to Michele for sharing.

Pale, bright gold. Large scale nose for white Burgundy, with notes of ripe apple, grilled bread, honey, and oaky spice. Evident oak on the palate, but there's just enough bright minerality and crisp acidity to make it additive to the experience.

While this was good I think it suffered from some big expectations. Medium yellow color. Moderate complexity. Nice citrus notes with some yellow and white flowers. Decent finish. This was perfectly good just nothing outstanding.

Wineberserkers Eat Duck in Midtown (Peking Duck House (Midtown), NYC): Green-tinged straw. Really classic, primary nose of minerals, pool water, salinity; fat with lanolin and honey-butter, pit fruit down below, and a little lemon oil adding cut and precision. Palate is picture-perfect, terrifically precise minerally balance, infant fruit, but fat, rich, and long. Really long. Minerals linger on the palate like fleur de sel gently deposited on the surface of a salt pan. Excellent wine with many years of development ahead.

Michel thought this was premox'ed, but Neil and I did not and by the end of the evening we were all in agreement that it is a very enjoyable wine. Light hazelnut, old oak and soft yellow fruit, this could be more chiseled but, and this is pure conjecture on my part, that is not the Roumier style of Corton. Soft and round edges, pretty palate, not very complex but very enjoyable. Thanks, Michel. At Fuleen in Chinatown with Michel and Neil.

Light yellow in color, nose of coconut, cotton candy, meringue and slight tropical fruit. Quite ripe palate, not super in depth, but quite long minerals filled finish. Not the best for the appelation but not sloppy either, drinking well now and miles better than the 2000 version of this wine tried a month ago.

This is about as big as white burgundy gets structure and mouthfeel wise. It teetered on the brink of being too oaky and big as you get that tactile sensation in your mouth of oak but it was just light enough to actually add a little to the palate. Very ripe citrus fruit with bright minerality. Long long finish and I'm pretty interested to see how the oak integrates.

Smoke and mineral on the nose. A bit of oak. Wonderful acidity with elegant fruit. My white WOTN amongst some nice wines tonight. Outstanding with a lot of life ahead of it.

With fears of premox making me trepidatious (wow, when was the last time I used that word in a conversation???), I offered this up for a friend's birthday party. We let it sit open and breathing in the fridge for about 2 hours before attacking it with full gusto, damn the torpedoes and all that. Beautiful, light gold color, no visual signs of premox. Could it be...? Good God almighty, it was fine! Slightly ripe lemon, white flowers, pith, dusty minerals and very light almond aromas wafted out of the glass, with just a hint (dare I say soupçon?) of oak. The palate was a tad round but not in an over-the-top way, with more of the same aspects, though the oak was somewhat more prevalent here. However, it had good grip and lovely definition of flavors, with a long crisp finish. The balance and length were fantastic. I'd have loved to have sat with this wine in the glass for a few hours to watch it evolve, but as usual I had to finish this to move on to the next beauty. Such is life. Oh, wait, I have a few more in the cellar. Youpi!

HDH Roumier Tasting (Symphony Center): Clean bright spicy white fruit with a hint of lemon peel. Clean precision piercing dustry mineral white fruit. A bit tighter but huge upside potential and still enjoyable now.

Totally oxidized. These mid 2000s Roumier CCs have not aged well

La Paulée de NY Gala Dinner (Pier 60 - NYC): Magnum. Showing mature flavors though texturally this is rich with mineral crispness. Best now.

Roumier Musigny dinner. Classic Corton profile. Less depth and sophistication than 2006 alongside, but better than 2002 and 2007.

Ripe citrus and spearmint notes. Weighty and full bodied, but with enough lift and structure to keep things well in balance. Very good.

Corton-Charlemagne at the Lieu-dit Cru Annual(ish) Blind White Dinner (The Bristol - Chicago IL): Tasted blind in flight. Fresh apple and pear with floral and spice note throughout. Incredible balance and persistence, this is an elegant masterpiece. Easily the best Roumier Corton-Charlemagne I have ever tasted. The final sip was at least as good 4 hours after first tasted.

La Confrerie des Chevaliers du Tastevin (Vancouver) - Summer Luncheon 2014 (Vancouver, BC): This was really good. Had more richness than I would have expected for an 04 but so much finesse and delicacy as well. Great acid and mid palate persistence. Probably one of my favourites of the day.
