Even from P&P, this was performing very well. Great red fruit wafting from the glass, powerful on the palate but very integrated and elegant. Long finish and you could immediately tell that this would just get better with some air.
Before this, my expectations had been tempered somewhat given comments about how 'Rousseau should stick to Gevrey'. But they did an excellent job with this one, and it was really enjoyable. Probable upside even though it's in a great spot right not; would seek out again, and thanks to M as always for sharing.

A big step up from Gevrey and Jacques, grand cru intensity on the nose, fresh with citrus alongside red berries. Growing refinement in the glass, quite an elegant take on CdlR, red berries all the way, long-ish finish.
Would like to revisit in a few years.

Rousseau Clos de La Roche 2013. Yes baby! Fokusert helt ut i finish. Sitter lenge med meget pene tanniner. 94-95p

Initially a bit closed, earthy. Then with time in the glass opening up more and more in the glass. Excellent aromatic depth, underbrush, some farmyard funk, red and dark fruit. Real Grand Cru density on the palate. A top tier Burg. Keep or decant. 96+

A private dinner (Restaurant Zoldering, Amsterdam, NL): Very delicate, toute en finesse, silky and seamless, gentle and floral, with a charm which almost hides the earthy “prodondeur”, floating but not fleeting, long finish with a lovely touch of sweet oak. A very feminine Clos de la Roche.

Andrew's Birthday 2021: Decant off the minimal sediment. Nose jumps out of the glass with deep red fruit and spice. Velvety palate, well balanced with a tight finish. Needs more time to mellow and integrate.

SLDS - PR GC: Lifted and bright nose with roses, musk and graphite. Very refined on the palate, excellent balance with that same fresh fruit and acid lift. Got roughed up a little next to the 2010 Ponsot CdlR, but this was still excellent.

Red fruits, florals, five-spice, forest floor aromas. Palate shows similar complexities. Clean and fresh flavours, with intensity and finesse. No rush on these.

At Corella Restaurant, Woolloongabba. This wine has an immediately attractive clear cherry red colour and an attention grabbing nose of red cherries, raspberries, blueberries, spice and Darjeeling tea. The palate is extremely pretty and has an attractive mouthfeel that lingers gently and reveals more complexity with time. it remains essentially lightweight but pretty is a characteristic that will always leave a happy memory.

It was immediately expressive from the get go with aromas of cherry, raspberry, blueberries, beetroot and earth. It was so fine and silky against the gums and filled the mouth with flavour without any sensation of heaviness. There was a delicious imprint of flora and earth once swallowing and flavours really lingered.

Found it for a good price on a list and had to order it. The nose was wide open and expressive. It was very spicy with aromas of sarsaparilla, freshly grated ginger, rose petals, rhubarb and blue fruits. It was velvety in the mouth with excellent volume, detail and minerally line. Acidity was crisp on the finish and it really fanned out after swallowing. Great red Burgundy!

Noe kantete. Lang finish. Dette trenger mer tid. 92p for nå.

2015 Tasting at Domaine Armand Rousseau: New oak 10%. An expressive nose of small plums and kirsch, underpinned by warm clay, rust and cooked meat juices. Fairly closed and tight on palate. However, the wine has all of the structure, material and acidity, again showing the '13 signature acid profile, needed to be an excellent Clos de la Roche. Real, serious fruit weight. A flavour profile of red and black cherries, cooked game meats and a ton of soil. Great potential here. (93-94)

Lots of raspberry taste and fruity, pure red fruits, finesse to the max, very enjoyable now but I would keep them a few more years before opening
