Red cherry color with pink meniscus, no bricking. Aromatics of sweet red cherry, cherry coulis, cinnamon. Medium bodied, sweet and almost velvety across the palate. Round, slightly tart finish. Drinking really well now, with flavorful fruit and layered texture. Delicious.

We opened this at a restaurant with friends. These WS Pinot s really age well, their drinking windows are too short on CT, IMHO. This was just singing. Lots of cherries on the nose, but more subdued than their younger offerings. A bit of earth and forest floor mixed in. The palate was quite alive, with plenty of fruit, still, but good complexity and balance. Didn’t taste or smell the alcohol at all. Long, pleasant finish. Glad I let it sit for a while, but I think it could still get better.

Very good Pinot Noir. Dark cherry color with no bricking yet and a nose of purple fruits. Some fine sediment and a couple little chunks of sediment in the bottle. Drinking in its prime right now and wish I had another one.

Love this more old world style. Maybe it is more a factor of the age of the wine, but I do not (usually) like the very fruit-forward Pinots, the like of some RRV wineries. In this wine, the terroir shine through and I love the slate/sandstone and spice taste that lingers on the back of the palate. With the concentration of flavors, small sips and long finishes kept this bottle going for quite some time.
No one ever really talks about this but I love when a great wine just lingers on. I can make a good bottle last for hours when cheap stuff you just slug down. Does anyone else notice the same?
Loved this wine. I need more!

On the nose: berries, currants, slightly medicinal, with a sickly sweet smell, but in a good way. This wine is feminine with medium to long finish and soft tannin. A very pleasant drinkability. Paired beautifully with a mushroom Brie and baguette. This is delicious on its own and can probably hold for a few more years. 92+

14.1% abv. Medium dark burgundy red, extremely aromatic. On the palate, red cherry, raspberry, cinnamon, white pepper and spice. Excellent depth and length with great intensity. Very high toned and grippy. Appears to be at the early stage of a long, beautiful drinking window. Exceptional!

Exceptional -- particularly with a not too ripe/sweet profile. Precise, clean, great nose of fruit and spice. Nice finish. 2013 turned out to be a stellar WS vintage.

Enjoyed during the Spring 2021 Williams Selyem release webinar. Cranberry on the nose. Red fruits predominant with cranberry, strawberries and raspberries. Tea and leather come through on the long finish. Elegant example of a Sonoma Pinot Noir. A fine example of the WS brand. Bravo!

Incredibly bright fruit on this Coastlands bottle, almost in a "Big California Zin" style but in a pinot noir. Paired very well with a Fall-based menu at Glen Ellen Star restaurant. Would have been happy to serve this one at a holiday dinner. Many years ahead yet for this vintage.

I decanted this for 2 hours. We paired this with blue cheese/bacon stuffed mushroom caps for starters. Then grilled halibut with a honey/lemon/soy glaze. Our guests were wowed to saythe least. This wine is not as powerful as others from this vineyard, but still outstanding!!! The cool ocean nights give it a softer mouth feel.

Light in color, cherries and flowers and earthy notes on the nose. This wine has mineral notes and moderate tannins and I definitely recommend a longer decant than your average Pinot. The 2013 needs more time in the bottle, but it is good now if you can't wait.

This ripe and bright Pinot has improved in the eight months since I tasted it last (12/17 - 92 points). Cherry red in color, medium in body, with a more expressive nose of fresh flowers, forest floor, and herbs. Tastes of black cherry, raspberry, anise, and stems, with a light and lingering finish (that is less syrupy than before). 14.1% alcohol. The juicy and candied aspects are still there, but the wine has grown up - integrating some of the ripeness. Drink in next few years.

A rich and candied Pinot that is drinking fine right now, but probably needs another year or so in order to calm down. Cherry red in color, medium in body, nose of cranberry and herbs. Tastes of raspberry, dried strawberry, candied walnuts, and leather, with a sweet finish. 14.1% alcohol. I loved the 2012, but this tastes a bit more fruity - and a bit less nuanced.

Young but fun. Dark cherry and some earth on the nose. Strong cherry on the palate, but interesting beyond the fruit. Plenty of acid and tannin to age this for a while. Good stuff.

Young and not all there (in terms of integration) but still enjoyable, especially on night #2. Holding off for another couple of years before touching the next one.

A bit early to drink but this one is a keeper. Excellent structure, grippy, crisp finish with the right balance of fruits and minerals. Wonderful across the entire palette. Will be better once it has some more time to resolve.

Year after year this vineyard scores well with me. I like the mid weight more restrained style. There’s tea leaves, pomegranate, red berry and earth.
