In appearance, it has a dense and deep ruby color. The nose expresses an elegant bouquet of dark berries and pungent spices, with an herbal undertone. On the palate, it offers a broad, direct, and balanced sip. It develops on a clearly defined acidic and tannic structure, closing harmoniously and persistently with spicy notes.

Blind tasted. Blackberry and other forest fruits. Fine and mineral palate, tight with clamping tannins. Oak in evidence. Guessed a Cab Franc from the Loire. Too dry and lacking texture for me. A cool vintage in the Languedoc. Hopefully, it needs more time or maybe it just wasn’t ripe enough that year...
Dark hue, nice flavours of garrigue bay, ligth leather, ink and graphite and black pepper. Assez sur la reserve. Fine balance. acceptable length. Rafiné pure et elegant.

Showing beautifully four hours after decanting. Significant sediment. Multiple layers of flavours, plum, fig and leather currently pronounced. Full and smooth. A triumph of blending.

This is the second bottle from the case I bought for laying down. The extra 3 years of rest (now 8 years old) since the first bottle I tried makes a difference. Showing good signs of development. Garnet tinge in the glass. A complex nose of blackcurrant, black cherry, but not just the fruit - branch and leaf included. Leather backbone, sweet tobacco, prune, pepper. Stewed fruit and cherry on the palate, cigar box; powdery tannin keeps the tension strong. The finish, though, is bright acid, fresh raspberry and spice which tells me this will be even more exciting in another 3 years and beyond. Sweet and salty front of palate , like liquorice, extends the duration further. As they say, nothing beats a blend.

Deep and fresh in appearance. Bordeaux meets Northern Rhône on the nose with blackcurrant, blackberries, a touch of black olive and a whiff of oak. On the palate the black fruits are not as distinct as on the nose and there is also cedar and spice. Medium to full bodied, plenty of tannic structure, medium to high acidity. Very smooth with a medium finish. We drank this with no decant over 3-4 hours, first with roast lamb and then by itself. In many ways this is still quite primary but the complexity is beginning to develop. This is a really nice wine that is excellent value for money.

Initially smooth on the palate with cranberry, pencil shavings, mint notes, quite an acidic and mineral finish. Get the Musar comparisons others have made, similar idiosyncratic and intriguing profile. Bottle suggests drinking within 5 years or after 7, so not the 6 I've opted for, which may explain the slightly awkward phase that this is in as lacks balance. Definitely still young, definitely worth revisiting in a few years' time.

Olive, charcoal, full bodied and spiky bramble fruit. Long mineral finish, a tinge of bitterness and a green streak from the Cabernet. A lot of substance here - very well put together and decent value. 90

Promising notes of fresh blueberry and blackcurrant, but with a prominent medicinal “funk” (reminiscent of wet leaves, slightly decomposing vegetation) that is so characteristic of Cab Sauv. Med tannin, med+ acid, med+ finish which is wholly fruit-driven, with a hint of herbs perhaps? Finishes slightly flat. Still v young. Got a case and will leave the rest for at least another 5 years.

Still young, complex and with loads of that funky note I associate with Ch Musar. Pine, paint, black fruit and finegrained tannins. Lots of fruit from the sunny side of southern France, yet still with good potential for the future. Probably good for another five years if you want to keep some primary fruit to mix in with the tertiary aromas.

dark fruit on the nose, blackcurrants, some herby notes Juicy fruit, very dry, tannins quite firm, then dark chocolate notes and a firm finish. Lovely youthful fruit but think this needs years

Opened before recommended window (2022 on) as a baseline. Dark centre but not black, ruby red rim. Medium weight, tannic, tooth furring, green flavours. Finishes with fruit and spice. Day two was much smoother and fruit had emerged. Wait.

2013 and 2014 were relatively lean vintages for MdDG. The aromas suggest more Cabernet presence than my last experience. Dark berry fruit with some mineral aromas. Lots of lift. Medium/- tannin. Very confident fruit presence on the nose. Drinking great this go-around.

Best on night one but still good on night 3. Dirt, cigar smoke, blackberry & black currants on nose. On palate, medium body, medium acidity with black cherry, currants, tobacco & green pepper (nice, not over the top) flavor profile. Long finish with medium tannins. Would not guess this wine was from the Languedoc and it drinks like a Cab Franc from Chinon or a Bordeaux as a prior taster noted. 91+/-

77% Cabernet, 7% Merlot, 5% Cab Franc, plus a small % of; Petit Verdot, malbec, some pinot (not specified?),nebbiolo & dolcetto! Now that's quite a blend! PnP in BDX glass & slow oxed before homemade beef stew dinner. Dark garnet red. Immediately intriguing nose of beef blood, cedar and spice. The palate starts out savory and reasonably smooth but lifted by its structure. Dark fruits, Asian spice, mineral, more beef blood elements, cedar, dark chocolate. The tannins are in good check but its amazing how much smoother this is with a bite of the stew! Terrific pairing! Old school, savory and complex. It would be great to drink with 10 plus years on it. 13.5% Alc. Paid $35 locally and worth it. Would likely be somewhat better still with a couple hours decant. I was both lazy and time challenged tonight.

77% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Merlot, 5% Cab Franc, 3% Petit Verdot, 2% Malbec, 2% Pinot Noir, 2% Nebbiolo, 2% Dolcetto. Egg white fining, no filtration. The white is sand filtered. red and black fruit palate, very mineral/stone. Feels more Languedoc than Cabernet this vintage.

A magnificent Mas de Daumas Gassac vertical from the private cellars of Allard Jakobs (Restaurant Sinck, Amsterdam, NL): Starting to show itself, clear and transparent, hint of spice, red cherries, mildly grippy tannins, good to very good length.
