Beautiful wine. Soft dried and fresh fruit. Little bricking and also unfiltered. Light, delicate, pretty. Soft tannins and balanced acids lead to a long finish Exactly what I was hoping for. Great in its own but also paired well with spaghetti, marinara w sautéed zucchini and mushrooms. Day two no change.

Drank well tonight, but seems like there is more hiding that will out with time. As others noted, this has the acidity to age for quite a few more years.

Good textbook OR Pinot. Good balance - subdued red fruit, vibrant acidity. Cherries, damp floor, mushrooms. Should reward a few more yrs of cellaring - acidity provides enough structure. Good potential for tertiaries emerging in a few more yrs?

Drank several nights ago as part of a vertical that included 2011 and 2013-2016. This screams Dundee Hills, with a cherry cough syrup character that I find very appealing and distinct. Herbs and cherries on the nose. Developing nicely. If you have a few bottles, it's worth drinking one now. But I also look forward to drinking my other two bottles in a few years. Drink or hold.

Similar to my last bottle two years ago. Delicate with cherries, cola, crunchy leaves, lots of almost-tart acidity that is vey well integrated. This drank best right out of the bottle - I opened it mid-morning and monitored it all day. It faded after a couple hours but mostly came back around by dinner time.
This really sang with food (white beans and kale). Somehow it came more alive and seemed less reticent. Unfortunately for us we were down to our last glass by dinner.
I was surprised that this didn’t have more tertiaries honestly. I have three more bottles and will probably wait a couple years before opening another. It’s in a good spot now, but I’d suggest drinking as a PnP (or perhaps on day 2) and with food. This has the acid to go for a while yet, so I’ll ride it out.

Lovely; nose with strawberry, red currant, hints of spice, very pure; palate is the definition of elegant pinot with a lovely finish; drinking very well now.

Wonderful when first opened - could almost pass for a lighter Burgundy like Volnay. After an hour or so it didn't show nearly as well. Thin, and recessed, even for an Oregon Pinot. Would be good with roast chicken. I'd buy again but not at the $30+ price point.

Getting better and settling into itself a bit; nose took less time to open; bright red berry fruits, orange peel, black tea, clove, and earthy tones. Palate remains fresh and delicious with lovely elegance and balance that is classic Eyrie and reminiscent to me of a nice Volnay. Should continue to improve for a few years yet.

Similar to my prior notes. Opens with fresh red fruits, hints of spice, mineral, orange peel, and black tea. Palate is classic Eyrie with lovely elegance, balance, and flavors. Lacks a little bit of the depth of the really great Eyrie vintages, but this one is classy and quite enjoyable.

Drank the other night. Beautiful. Settling down but still needs a lot more time. That high-toned cherry flavor is slightly more subdued, and the herbal and earthy elements are coming out a bit more. If you drink now, let this breathe for a long time. Would recommend holding for a few more years (while noting that this probably has no expiration date).

Tasting at Eyrie (McMinnville, Oregon): Winery tasting. The base cuvee Pinot shows just as it should. Bright earthy cherries, new leather and herbs on the nose. Palate is light bodied with fresh acids. Lower intensity and concentration, but correct and easy to drink.

My wife and I purchased a bottle of the Eyrie at DeLaurenti located in Pike Market in Seattle, then headed over to enjoy it at Alki Beach. Wonderful example of classic Williamette Valley Pinot Noir. Very light in color with a distinctive rust-colored profile, lovely cherry notes, plenty of minerality and just enough fruit to make it quaffable.

I can understand this style of Pinot is not for everyone, given the cherry-cola bombs out there. This is real Pinot Noir and while it is lighter than even the most correct Pinots, this is a truly beautiful bottle. Its bouquet is rich with Pinot / red bush berry fruit, loamy earth and minerals. This is definitely not a crowd pleaser and you need to know what Eyrie is all about.

Waterford Wine Co. Biodynamic Festival (Tamarack Waldorf School, Milwaukee, WI): brief tasting note. one of the lightest young red wines i've ever tried, the level of translucency was something else.. a dusty very pale red. very much an old world-styled wine, the expressive nose was full of earth and spice. flavors included the same, and i wouldn't be surprised to find there was a large amount of loam in the soil composition (?). very expressive in every way, and quite delicious.

Classic lighter-colored duller sheen Eyrie pinot -- great subdued earthiness with not a ton of fruit showing now. More wet forest soils, herbs/garrigue, a touch of black fruit. Very Old World.

Bright, easy drinking Pinot. Strawberries and raspberries on the nose and palate. Good first wine of the night. Drank over 24 hours and still drank well on night two. Nice.

Lovely pinot, fresh and bright with a nose of bing cherry, cranberry, red currant, hints of spice, balsamic, and violet add lovely complexity. The palate is classic elegant pinot, reminiscent of a good Volnay with a vibrant, red fruit driven palate that is delicious. Nicely balanced and a great food wine. I suspect this will put on a bit of weight with time in bottle and should drink well for 8-10 years based on Eyrie's track record.

Willamette Valley late June tastings: Aromas of plum, fig, eucalyptus and spice. Adds nice earth tones and brown spice on the palate. Silky fleshy tannin with juicy acidity lingering on the finish. Solid.

Pleasant and clean, but very light--not very satisfying nor enough to stand up to food --there are much better Oregon Pinots at that $34 cost.
