Acid a little low, and aromas/flavors are non-descript stone fruit, but a solid showing for a 20 year old white wine. Falls apart with air, so drink quickly.

Nice mature white Rhône blend. Apricot honey and vanilla. Very expressive nose. Beeswax thick viscous palate. Just a bit lacking acidity to hold up the freshness.

This wine was in a nice place, showing maturity but without the sacrifice of freshness. Dried apricot, beeswax, and white flowers across the rich palate. It had a viscous mouthfeel but enough acidity still there to keep the palate feeling clean and fresh.

Lightly scented honeysuckle fruit. A bit lacking in acidity, but I wouldn't describe this as flabby. There is just a touch of an oxidized note that I find concerning for this wine's continue aging potential.

Liquid gold color, acacia and honey on the nose, full bodied, mineral, still some acidity left - all this is coming harmoniously together. Seductive wine, that has matured nicely, to be drunk in a relaxed mood.

White wine Guigal Masterclass (Stockholm): Golden yellow colour, brightest yellow of the four. Ripe yellow fruit, some damp straw, some nuts, notably spicy, some mineral. Full-bodied on the palate, mineral with methol notes, spice, rather low acidity. Rather closed wine but very powerful concentration on the palate, I’m sure it has potential for improvement when it emerges from the tunnel in a few years’ time. 90+ p? I found it interesting to note that even in a hot year like 2003, this wine shows clear mineral character, something that to me usually goes together with a cool impression, and it showed a bit more acidity than the 2006.

The Magic of The Rhône, Le Petit Sommelier. Light gold. Ripe citrus fruit, rhubarb, marzipan, lemon blancmange, scented flowers, oaky vanilla and a touch of honeycomb. Medium body, very rich fruit with a honeyed edge. Palate mirrors the nose in complexity and profile. Nutty, concentrated and with an oily feel this is almost chewable. The richness is balanced by medium + acidity. Marsanne in all it's beauty.

Lemon-gold with a nose that needs time to reveal its true complex character of quince, honey, apricots and marzipans. Creamy and full bodied on palate with zesty acidity, great extract and persistent finish. Approachable but because of impressive concentration will keep possibly for a decade or more.

Rhone Magic (Le Petit Sommelier Restaurant): Dark gold. Honey, marzipan, beewax and ripe stone fruit on the nose. Some hints of oxidation that are nicely integrated to a point that they are anything but annoying. Full-bodied, creamy-textured and rich, with moderate acidity and a remarkably long aftertaste.

c'mon folks . if jay miller could score 8 dollar bottles with only fruit and overextracted tannins up to 91 points, this is is definitely a 90 pts bottle (if you stored it right that is). Sweet hazelnut and lemon fennel notes. The marsanne seemed to have ripened ahead of the Roussanne or maybe there just isn't very much of the latter, normally more floral, grape in this blend. We had this with soft shell crab and pasta (ny times minimalist recipe, except for the cup of hermitage that I added). Very nice, only that we had to chill the wine quite a bit to tease out the little acidity that's left. If you haven't already opened your bottle, last summer was the time to do it. Still, excellent or even outstanding wine with all the cream and glory that one wants with sweet fresh seafood.
