Was a bit worried given many notes on noting premox, but thankfully this bottle was not oxidised. A bit of earthiness. Dried flowers; linden, hawthorn. Some white peach and confit lemons. With age, this has taken on a vegetal and herbal patina with blanched almonds, celery root, and fennel bulb. A waxy and salty backbone that spreads across the palate and tongue giving the wine some weight and texture. When warmer the wine becomes less bright and the vegetal notes can at times overwhelm, when too cold, there's loss of texture. Around cellar temp seems to hit just right in order to taste through all the layers of the wine together. As I noted earlier, my bottle was not premoxed, but it was a tad more advanced than I'd expect a 2014 to be. I'd tread carefully given the apparent prevalence of premox noted by others in their bottles, but a bottle in a good shape should be drinking well now and over the next couple of years.
more evocative as it warmed; salty white peaches & gardenias; just so different than the regular culprits, in texture, aromatics, & fruit expression; lots of stony mineral acidity.
penultimate bottle, like it at this stage.
seared sea scallops, green garlic butter w/capers & lemon; spice-roasted cauliflower, raisins, black quinoa

Very oily/viscous, muted fruit, just a tad on the bland side but enjoyable nonetheless, not a re-stock but glad to have tried it. Had a Lillian Roussanne (Stolpman vineyard 2012 vintage) a few years ago and this Aligote' reminded me of that. Nothing offending, but nothing distinctive or memorable about either.

Everything about this wine belies the reputation of aligote as an aperitif or something heaven forbid to blend in a kir. The color is a surprisingly rich gold compared to other aligote I've tried, with green highlights. The nose is full of ripe white and yellow orchard fruit, with mineral streaks, a light florality and almond nuttiness. Broad, full texture, which if not quite silky has a borderline luxuriousness before resolving in a bone dry finish. I felt it had the depth and heft of a wine aged in wood, and from what I could gather, it spends up to 12 months in large, old barrels. There's a lees-driven creaminess as well. Interestingly, the producer indicates this relatively concentrated wine is made from the aligote dore clone as opposed to the lighter, less aromatic aligote vert.
Bouzeron is the only Burgundy appellation dedicated to aligote and in the hands of M. Villaine there's no surprise it transcends its humble station.
Since it's already June 2019, I soundly reject the community drink date ending in 2018. Lots of life left here.
Radiant and open, with notes of honeysuckle, nuts, also some honey, some gingery spiciness and citrus. It's medium bodied, with very nice medium-high acidity. Medium length. An uncomplicated, but lovely Aligoté that is a pretty expression of this sometimes rustic variety. To be honest I like it better than the more expensive "Les Clous" from the more noble Chardonnay grape.

Dobbeltdekantert. Sitrus, blomster og mineraler. Frisk og kjølig aligotè med middels fylde, god syrlig avslutning (eplefrisk). Tørr. Middels lengde. Ypperlig til fiskesuppe og et par glass senere til lagret geitost.

Pretty nice drinking for the tariff. Bright, vibrant and citrusy, with just a touch of warm tropical fruit. A little bit of the waxiness that I sometimes get with aligote, which gives it a little heft on the palate. By no means a light and airy wine, and did quite well with Chinese takeout food.

An outstanding light Aligoté from Burgundy’s revered de Villaine family, somewhat saline Bouzerón with pleasant chalky minerality, a bit of lemon candies, and fine acidity.
A wine that is best served cold, it lingers on my gums and tickles them. A bigger feast for the mouth than the nose.
All in all, an outstanding summery drink.

If you never had an aligote, this is the one to try. Always dependable, the nose is slightly restrained, but the palate is full of lemon zest, followed by a mineral finish. The wine is on the light side, but very nicely balanced. Very enjoyable now, drink up.

After 1 hour decatation (needed) nose still shy on melon juice. Mouth is good, simple lemon core, salty, balanced and short. A wine for expert who wants to discover the limits this grapetype. An excellent wine maker in an excellent year makes an good wine. Twenty euros in France. Worth a try .
Appearance: Bright and clear, it has pale lemon-green color, with watery rims and legs. Nose: Clean, with light intensity aromas of citrus fruit of lemon, floral notes of honeysuckle, dairy notes of butter, green fruit of tart apple, stone fruit of peach, mineral notes of steel, herbaceous notes of dry hay. The wine is youthful. Palate: Dry with high acidity, the wine has medium alcohol, light body and medium intensity flavors of green fruit of tart apple, citrus fruit of lemon, floral notes of honeysuckle, mineral notes of steely, herbaceous notes of hay. The wine has a medium (-) finish. Conclusion: Good quality Bouzeron with good varietal characters, despite rather light on intensity and fairly simple, but really highlighted the signature elements, with good acidity and freshness, it is an easy-drinking wine with decent concentration and a slightly short finish. It is ready to drink now and not meant for further ageing.
I like its definition and expressiveness, its showing all the character that a good Aligote should have: fresh fruit, lemon, nectarine, honeysuckle, wet pebbly minerality on the nose; well defined acidity and freshness in the mouth; a lingering aftertaste of green fruits. An Aligote which leaves an impression.
That said 3,800 yen is really quite a price and let's face it, the fact that it is made by the same producer of Romane-Conti has an influence.

Medium yellow. Some toast and pear. Lush but not alcoholic or overripe, then the finish is more lemony. You could have fooled me-this tasted like a village wine made of Chardonnay, not Aligoté. Very good.
Light, crisp, green apply, glue fumes, granite dust, chalk, sour bright finish, crisp and refreshing, less complex than other versions I've had recently but clean and bright.

From Aubert de Villaine, co-director of Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, and his wife, comes this lovely Aligote, made near their home in Bouzeron, Cote Chalonnaise. A bit shy on the nose with discrete aromas of citrus, gooseberry, some blackcurrant bud and hints of mango and yellow apple. This wine has a well-defined acidic backbone making it crisp, fresh and elegant. Flavors of citrus and green fresh leafs with a sweet spicy touch.
