Tasted along side some of the 2017 Boich offerings. Might have influenced my score as the 2017 instant palate fatigue in a glass. The 2014 Estate grown Mt. Veeder wine was definitely more approachable. Rounder in profile but still 4 years out for my palate. I believe the fruit and structure are there to create some more upside. +2 or more....
Napa 2019; 7/14/2019-7/18/2019: Showed much better than the ‘15. Red berry fruit, typical Veeder profile, faint pine, moss, forest floor, cranberry. The earth is greater than the fruit right now, but this is a good wine that should not be ignored.

Deep and dark purplish ruby red. A bit mute on the nose, graphite, black currants, purple flowers and black fruits. Heavy tannins (8/10) and full bodied. Dark and rich palate with tons of minerality, black cherries, spices and a touch floral. Long and lingering finish. Drink from 2019 till 2040.

Dark purplish ruby red. Tight nose with dark gravel, lavender, black currants and graphite. Heavy tannins (8/10) and full bodied. A little savory on the nose, dried black cherries, cinnamon, purple flowers and minerality in the long finish. Still a baby and can easily go for another two decades.

What a brilliant wine! Start with a 45 minute decant.
Some roasted meat, smoke, bacon fat, blackberry, pepper, dried herbs, and cassise on the nose. The tannins are front and center but soften with air after about 90 minutes. After 2.5 hours the tannins were soft and well integrated. I'm sure with bottle age, the tannins will help age this wine beautifully.
Let's start with a 95 and see how high this can go in about two years time.

Deep and dark ruby red. Dark purple floral attack with lavender and lilacs, followed with tons of savory notes. Nose finished off with some black and blue berries. Heavy tannins (8/10) and tighter than the rest of the Cabernet Sauvignons. A bit savory with dried red berries and black cherries. A little floral too. Full bodied and lingering finish. Drink from 2019 till 2040.

Boich 2016 (Mayacama Country Club, Santa Rosa): The best of the wines tasted from Boich, the Wall Road inched its way past the Howell Mountain Select. With its more enticing dark bramble berry fruits and elevated vivacity, the Wall Road came off as the most captivating wine in the lineup. Gained points for its constant push of a combination of complex fruit and spice.
Bottled in June, the Wall Road still managed to show tremendous upside even in its youthful state. Really grabbed my attention, showing outstanding energy without being too high-registered or acidic. Though the Howell Mountain was a beautifully deep and dark wine, the Wall Road showed more intensity and drive. The overall flavor profile was ultimately much more pronounced, mostly because of the medley of berry and currant flavors ping-ponging around; just when I thought you were tasting a particular flavor, another one would pop up and grab my attention.
Still has a bit to sort out, with another 2+ years in bottle recommended to really start streamlining the flavors so they are more discernible and less schizophrenic. However, the Wall Road Cabernet might end up being Boich's go-to wine for me moving forward. This made me want to seek out the 2013 Wall Road and start spending some money. It made me almost completely forget about the GIII.
94-95+ point potential in the next few years. Hold until after late 2018+.

Napa Visit with wine makers and owners; 2/3/2017-2/8/2017 (Napa, CA): This was rounded and smooth even given its youthfulness. Nice tannins at 7/10. There is a light woodyness in the finish which is pleasant. Many layers, power and fruitiness all together here.
The cab franc (10%) was co-fermented.
