Very deep, murky ruby fading to a light garnet rim. The better of two bottles opened tonight, to me this almost seems redolent of Barossa, offering deeply pitched aromas of blackberry preserves, Chambord, dried mint, eucalyptus and toasty oak. Full bodied and mouthfilling on the palate with medium acidity and deep, sweet fruit flavors. This has an obvious appeal but it leans heavily on its weight. I wouldn't want more than a couple ounces of it.

Saturday get-together: Though this showed some tertiary notes that more than hinted to the wine’s age, they certainly added to the layered complexity of the flavor profile of this wine. Black and red raspberry, Red and black currant, cherry, smashed plum in the sun, cassis, dry tobacco, cedar, tilled soil, and fungi notes all intermingle in a harmonious effort, forming a profile that is on the downswing on evolution in terms of freshness and tension, but completely resolved in balanced flavorings and overall execution. This is a smoking jacket kind of wine!
Thank you Dave_C for bringing some class to the party! :)

An evening with good food, great people and amazing wine (Where the silence is longed for): Very floral aromas like red and pink flowers with subtle red fruits. On the palate you get similar red fruits with just a touch of ripeness, a light streak of graphite, earthy and mineral notes. This is starting to hit some savory notes, more on the fermented side. If you like your poison like me with a bit more fruit, you may want to consider drinking soon, not that it's going to be completely gone within 4-5 years but the tertiary notes might start taking over soon.

This rich and layered Pritchard Hill Cabernet is drinking beautifully right now, with incredible fruit, a dark and earthy undertone, and an expansive mouthfeel. Dark red in color and full in body, the wine offers incredible aromas of mountain blueberry, graphite, espresso, and peppercorn. The flavors include mulberry, black cherry, mocha, and bay leaf, with a lingering finish that carries some brambly tannins that are starting to integrate with the glorious fruit. 14.9% alcohol. Decant at least two hours. Made by Philippe Melka. This will probably be softer in another 3-4 years, but its density and intensity are incredible right now.

Ripe, concentrated, lush and deep, the wine shows layers of black and blue fruit, chocolate, vanilla, licorice and a touch of jam, with soft, polished tannins and a boatload of fruit from start to finish.

Decanted and poured. Cork disintegrated, but filtered and no ill effects. Rich purple color to red at the edge. Black fruit, maybe leaf tobacco, graphite, oak, hint of eucalyptus and cut grass on the nose. That description doesn't really do it justice, very pleasant bouquet of aromas. Palate is a robust, complex blend of black and red fruits, spice, licorice, hints of pencil lead, menthol, nicely balanced. Full bodied, smooth, long, slightly spicy finish, well-integrated, subtle tannins, creating an exceptional mouth feel/experience. Wonderful!

Pretty nuances of strawberry, deep raspberry and red currant followed by lavender and lovely Asian notes. Seamless tannins gracing this beautifully balanced wine. Cedar with slight mint and gorgeous berries gliding along the palate. Develops more in the glass to create a silky wine cascading around your mouth - absolutely wonderful and drinking incredibly well.

From a pristinely-cellared bottle, Bryant's 2006 (100% Cabernet Sauvignon) is aging gracefully. Opaque ruby/red, intensely aromatic and packed with flavor, it delivers a payload of dark bramble fruits, kirsch, Asian spices, cocoa, truffles and pipe tobacco. Full-bodied, low-to-medium in acidity, judiciously oaked and with nicely integrated alcohol (14.9%), it is a "big" wine, but very soft-textured by virtue of its plentiful silky tannins. With excellent mid-palate density and a smooth finish that lingers on and on, this is a classic-quality Cab in every sense. Comparably cellared bottles should easily reach their thirtieth birthday. Drink now-2036.

Really spectacular cab that is in its prime drinking window. Stewed fruit on the nose and the palate with the palate showing a bit darker, some licorice on the end and there is still a touch of tannin which confers the prospect of even more longevity. This is spectacular now - complex and structured - an aspiration for current vintages to attain.

Decanted for 2 hours. Going off memory. This was by far the wine of the night for me. Aromas were just so complex and palate was really off the charts. Finish went on for what seemed like forever. I don't think this is going to get any better than it's drinking right now.

ohmigoodness. This is an amazing wine - blew my socks off... Buh-bye! Seriously tho - structure, fruit, body, acidity - all outstanding. If I were a dog (shut up!), I’d roll in this. It’s delicious.
Another powerful vintage from the Bryant family , my friend decanted it for 6 hours , we though it was enough , but I think it could handle 2 to 4 more hours . well balanced great structure , it is amazing how the nose changes from a minute to another it goes from fruits to perfume to violets to truffles really One of kind .

The best wine I've had. Six hours decant but opened up more after a total of 8 hours in glass/decanter. It evolved from truffles, fruits and earth to perfumes. What a nose! But the story here is about the palate and the finish! So delicious and coats your mouth for more than one minute! The balance and the structure of this wine is second to none. What a bottle!

Wow......This was epic. Decanted for over and hour, but could have used two. Early on it was a little tight across the board but you could tell that the finish was round, intense and long. Half way through my glass this turned into something really special. So much so that I lingered with this wine for about two hours. Ample amounts of brambly, jammy fruit with some earth and a phenomenal bright finish with a hint of menthol. In another 5 years this wine will be a monster. If you are drinking it now, give it a lot of air and by all means....take your time!

Purity of fruit, balance, this is a compelling and silencing wine. "Best wine I ever had" from our friends. Obviously not the house wine, the decision to open a Bryant takes some time and thought, because once you have consumed what you have, you aren't buying more, and every time the offer annually appears, the sticker shock is numbing. But once past that, this is just a remarkably great wine, what Napa does that no one else does, and Bryant does that as well as if not better than all of them.
As this is one of my favorite wines on the planet, I am sad to say that this bottle was corked. Cork crumbled. Wine tasted like prune juice and smelled horrible. Color was bricked.
So sad, but we opened a wonderful 2001 & 2002 in memory of the 2006.

This is a Wow Bottle of wine. Huge, massive, thick, rich, black in color. Insane nose of vanilla tobacco, carmel, vanilla extract, chocolate covered cherries, warm brownies, and spices. All of those scents on the nose came through in huge ways while tasting. Even with the huge nose and insanely explosive mouth coating flavors, this wine was very smooth to drink and delivered the experience gracefully. This was also a pop and pour. This thing would be 100 point wine with a 4-8hour decant.
Drank at Mar a Lago in Palm Beach with great friends.

This was decanted for 30 minutes prior to drinking at a local steakhouse. The clear wine was still very youthful yet it had a great balance of cherries, caramel and some vanilla to it. Although the tannins and acidity were noticeable, they were not overbearing and despite the high levels of alcohol in this bottle, it was quite well rounded and thoroughly enjoyable.

This was decanted for 90 minutes and drank on a patio at a local restaurant. The wine was clear and was mid deep red in colour. The wine didn't fast like your average bold California fruit bomb as it was much more subdued and softer. Lots of red cherries and the expected vanilla from the oak. The tannins were quite soft as were the acidity levels. This wine is in a very good place right now.

Much softer and slightly more approachable than the 06 sloan, this wine was still wound up pretty tight, with a nose of blackberry, cinnamon-vanilla, and just a hint of green pepper. The mouthfeel was full bodied, with layers of cassis, blackberry, and vanilla. The wine was not as layered or as deep as the Sloan, but may have more development. Will wait 6-12 months before opening another.
