Very tasty. Dark in colour. Nose is sweet and ripe, showing a little maturity but mainly red and black cherry fruit. More of thr same on the palate, soft tannins, still juicy acidity and more red and black cherry fruit. Really pure, vibrant pinot. Nicely balanced. Drinking well.

Good flavor right at opening, more like a Russian River profile. Very good at initial sip but fades quickly and felt thin in flavor. The intensity waned and did not persist, but the initial attack was quite good. Felt this on side of tongue mostly on the middle. Good bouquet. Not as deep colored as in previous vintages. Lot of energy here, and medium acidity. Tart, but not quite cherry. Different in style than in previous vintages, not as extracted, and more finesse as a result. Good, ready now, and might see 5 more years of age. Vacuum sealed now to have in one week. Was Ok then but as I recall but seemed best the first day.

A lovely gift from a friend. Quite rich - especially for Sonoma Coast. Notes of dark berries, pomegranate, green plum and some red apple were found on the nose and palate. Maybe the 2017 vintage promoted that richer spectrum of flavors? A little bit of alcohol on the finish along with that green plum and red apple. The wine should make it to 2027 and beyond.

Pronounced fruit on nose, primarily raspberry. Very extracted wine, which is appealing and many, like my daughter love. Heavy fruit with some cola and spice notes. Certainly very good but wish it was more naunced/complex.

Drinking very nicely at this point. Dark, black cherry on a palate coating delivery. Fully integrated and very balanced. Nice and smooth with nice dark fruit including black plum and ripe blackberry flavors. I think this is around peak drinking window. Great on a brisk Autumn evening.

Dark burgundy color, with a nice nose to it. Great cherry and clove flavors, medium + body, balanced but with a slight lean towards the fruit side. Good finish. Delicious now(dank all of mine) but should really shine with more bottle age.

Crimson in color. 14.2% ABV. Gorgeous nose of red fruits, cloves and forest floor. Medium to full bodied with perfect acidity and balance. Black cherries, baking spices, cherry cola and earth on the palate. Absolutely delightful Pinot Noir. Best over the next several years while you let the single vineyard designates from 2017 rest in the cellar.
Not worth the tariff but a nice wine. Candiee fruit on the nose and nice tannin and acidity for balance. Glad I tried it but wouldn't buy at this price again.

Opened for an afternoon on the balcony paired with ham, humus, and crackers. Found it unremarkable on the nose and lacking structure on the pallet. The fruity, candied palate - with structure - that I remembered of past vintages was not there. I have other single vineyard KB’s that I will try next, but the last few Sonoma bottles I’ve tried gave indeed been disappointing. Still searching for that old taste of KB’s of years past. Happy for any recommendations!

As the years go by, I’m less impressed by the “standard” KB bottlings. Generally I do prefer the RRV to Sonoma Coast; yet it seems the quality of the boutique single appellation wines that they launched with the 2016 vintage are the current focus. The last couple of standard vintages have been less remarkable than they were 5+ years ago, possibly due to the change in winemaking style or change in ownership, or my preferences and palate. In any case, I think I’ll reduce the volume of my purchases from KB going forward and pickup a little Cerise, Treehouse, and Bootleggers here and there.
Very nice red fruit - cherry, strawberry, and raspberry along with a nice dose of cola. Has a nice “feel” in your mouth with a pleasing, lingering finish that has you coming back for more. Decanted for 45 minutes and it held up very nicely during a mea. Could also go as a PnP. Overall, a nice lucious Sonoma Coast!

Mostly Destemmed fruit was aged 17 months in 40% new French oak, 15% wood tanks and 6% concrete tanks. Decanted Seductive aromas reveal rich notes of cherry, raspberry and strawberry that meld with notes of herbs, floral pastilles, cola, smoldering incense and lighter touches of blue fruit, forest floor, cardamom spice, pepper, vanilla and cigar box. On the palate the medium frame carries juicy acidity, building tannins and round voluptuous textures. Flavors mimic the nose with rich cherry, raspberry and blueberry/black raspberry fruits with notes of cola, smoke, herbs, rose petals, hibiscus tea, earth, baking spices, vanilla and earth. The finish lingers pleasantly.

Decanted 1/2 prior, restrained cherry, some spice and the cherry pipe tobacco as stated by fellow CT note. Lacking minerality as also stated but did seem open up with more time in the glass. Really delicious fruit driven pinot just starting its prime. Nose offers ripe wild strawberries, red licorice, red cherries, mint and pink peppercorn. Some black cherry pipe tobacco flavor, allspice, cinnamon sugar, and wonderful cherry pit bitterness on the finish to balance the ripe fruit. Great acidity too, as you’d expect from Sonoma. So why not a higher score? Missing minerality, soil, complexity, and grip. BUT, this is CA Pinot, true to its celebration of sunny fruit. Subjectively, a 94 score would be fair, if you are partial to this style. Very well made, should drink well for 7-8 years. Perfect with pumpkin ravioli or duck ragout.

Beautiful Sonoma fruit that is primarily cherry in nature. Nice base of fruit with some notes of spice. Certainly a bit more masculine than the RRV appellation from KB for this vintage. Good body and this gained depth and weight on day 2. Some more black plum came through. Nice freshness and ripeness of fruit although it is well integrated now, this will continue to knit togather and evolve a bit more with additional time.

The color was crystal clear perfect ruby with medium to fast legs. On the nose beautiful fresh strawberries, bramble berries, sage and other green briar patch accents along with hints of basil, oregano. On the palate strawberries, red fruits dominate, very young. Finis was more strawberries and the classic cola nuts. Took about a hour to open up.

Gifted this today and had to try it. Beautiful bright cherry/raspberry fruit, smooth spicebox and tannins. This is a quality made wine, but I have to wonder if you drank say a Sojourn along side, if the qpr would be worth it? It may have a slight edge in class, like a $10k claimer vs a $7500, but we all know those $7500 claimers often beat the $10k horses.
