This Oregon Pinot producer was new to me, but I will definitely seek more. I concur with others reporting on their tasting. Wine was at the edge of my personal preference for lighter Pinots - ie not dark, brooding, thick and jammy. Excellent body, well balanced, black cherry, appropriate funkiness that added complexity. It was well-worth the $34.99 I paid - $15 off retail. Having tried this one I'd pay $50 for the next purchase if available vintages can be found at that price.

A little tight and high acids to start but softened over time. Very good food wine but would be tough on its own. I will wait a year or two for the next bottle.

Pleasant aromas of primarily cherries leap from the bottle as soon as the cork is pulled. Slow-oxed for about 30 minutes before tasting. The nose is balanced in a three-way tug-of-war between fruit aromas, earthiness and florals. Cherries and raisins, along with mossy forest floor and violet potpourri vie for your attention. Palate echoes the nose, but the fruit seems to be waning and losing the battle at this point. There's a nice touch of cinnamon that wants to join the party. A bit of tannic grip remains. It's also a touch hot. The finish is nice - big and lengthy, but it seems to extend with the alcohol flare. *Colene Clemens Winery founded in 2005 by Joe and Vicky Stark; winery named after Vicky's mother. *Four tiers of Pinot Noirs are on offer; Adriane is the 2nd from the top and named after their daughter.

Dusty black cherry nose, a hint of cedary tobacco upon opening. A greener, spicier profile soon evolves, all prsent and very evident on the palate. Prominent grip, slightly drying finish. Give it a 2hr decant (which I NEVER do with PN), will the fruit balance still be there in 3 yrs?

Vertical Tasting of Colene Clemens Adriane Pinot Noir (Boulder, Colorado): Popped and poured as part of a vertical tasting of 2014 to 2016 – Bright red fruits with cherry, strawberry and hints of rhubarb. Medium+ body with good balance and enough tannin & acidity to ensure several more years of tasty pinot lies ahead. The earthy side of this wine comes at the mid-palate and the spicy finish lingers, a really good wine!

Medium ruby. Red fruit, rhubarb, savory and earthy notes. Medium+ acid, low and fine tannin. Dark cherry, cola, and an almost syrupy quality, though expect this has no residual sugar. Tannins became more pronounced and syrupy quality decreased as the bottle emptied.

Fantastic pinot w/ strawberry rhubarb, dark cherry & spice notes on nose, more dark cherry & kirsch + forest floor on the palate. Well balanced & silky smooth w/ good acidity.

Hit all the right notes. Everything was balanced - cherry, fennel, forest floor, other berry notes, very refined tannins. This was even better than expected and we expected a lot! Drank this after drinking Cabernet Sauvignon with a steak dinner and it was not the least understated or insipid.

A wonderful wine that is drinking nicely now and should just get better with more cellaring. A long, long finish to this wine. It has dark fruit flavors to it - blackberry and blackcap. Plenty of backbone but already it’s under control. Betcha can’t drink just one glass!

opens with a nose of dark cherry, earth, and spice box. on the palate, the wine showed sappy cherry liquor, cola, asian spice box, and a beautiful savory note (bacon?). well balanced and exceptionally light on it's feet. drinking well now but will age for another 10 years at least. opened up and evolved nicely over a two hour drinking window. great linearity across the palate with just enough acidity to hold it all together. a showy and beautiful wine in every aspect and my favorite from this producer. a high level of craftsmanship went into this!

A very nice Pinot from Colene Clemens. This guy needs some air time but is drinking very well now.
Opened and decanted for 30 minutes which was a little to brief for the initial attack. Really nice aromas of bright red cherry, red berries and spice starts the mouth to water.
The palate is medium light in body with red fruits, spices and decently balanced alcohol, acids and tannin. The longer this sat in the glass the more integrated and complex it became.
Easy to enjoy on its own or with food.

Pinot in the City (Chicago, IL): Walk-around tasting, brief note. Red cherry and berry throughout with spice hints. Very finessed and well balanced with good weight and length. Also best to enjoy over the next few years. Certainly the most complete wine of the three tasted today.

Nice wine, would be better with a few more years. Scents of tobacco, leather, pepper, and dark fruits. Flavors of pepper, chocolate, caramel, and coffee forward of the fruit. With more aeration, the pepper smoothed out for more caramel and fruit notes
