This wine was consumed on a boat in the sun, so the total experience was much bigger than any notes I was able to pick up. But it seems to be consistent with my previous notes, despite different vintages. Also, I think this wine tastes Champagne rather than "natural grower" if that makes sense, and I mean this in a good way. Base '18, deg. 2021-05. 70% PN 30% CH.

Subtle notes of red berries, tangerine, physalis and grapefruit. Hints of stone dust, cream and almond paste but, needless to say, the wine is bone-dry. Had this 3 months ago and found it nice but unconvincing, tonight it’s great, very enjoyable. Probably context/me-variation. Deg 2019-11, base ’16.

Red apples, grapefruit, minerals, hint of nuts. Most of the good components of a Brut Nature noir-dominated Champagne but lacking a little je ne sais quoi for me. Might need cellaring. Base ’16 deg 2019-11.

I bought a couple bottles of these in 2018, drinking the first bottle in November of that year. I liked the wine, and for $35 it was a strong value. I then lost track of the remaining bottle in my cellar, only to find it a few weeks ago. I wanted something last night that was crisp, with good energy and this was right on target. Same specs as the 2018 bottle--disgorged August 2017 (mostly 2014 base), with roughly 50/50 Chard/PN, and no dosage. Last night, I thought the first glass was a bit austere, which has never scared me off from Champagne, as I thrive on that electricity. My wife and I then had another glass, and it started to add some roundness. I put the bottle away with the stopper, preserving one glass for today. What a terrific wine. Lemon peel, green apple, not lacking for texture as the initial glass yesterday showed. Another taster in a previous note mentioned seashell, and I can see that, moreso a Chablis-like character that comes through (the winery ain't far from Chabils, for what it's worth). Finishes with a tingle of citrusy lemon and note of raspberry/red fruit. This disgorgement seems ready to go, drinking solidly. Good work here, Rémi.

JC's bottle - I was thinking this was a 2014 millesime but it must have been a 2014 base NV. In any event I really liked this - lovely toasted wheat flavors with subtle richness.

Light straw with touch of gold-orange tint. Fast, fine bubbles and quarter coin size mousse. Gold apple, green apple, lemon, ginger cookie, seashell nose. A bit of air fills out the mid-palate. Medium + acidity, chalky mouthfeel - lemon meringue pie, persimmon, lime zest, beer foam.
Base 13 DG 2/17 0g/l 75% Pinot Noir 25% Chard

A touch of gris color. Nose of fresh apples and toast. Intense and fruity palate. Body is a bit on the thin side but this might be a result of the zero dosage. Very good overall.

Opened tonight to have with dinner. Pretty frothy and aggressive with CO2 that eases with some air but beware. Disgorged 2017 with a base of 2014, about 50/50 PN and Chard, with 20% reserve wine. Zero dosage. Good core of yellow apple, pear, some raspberry and light chalk. For $35, this suits me just fine.

Enjoyed a bottle at Corkopolis in Cincinnati (what a great wine bar, if you are ever in the area). Nose of Meyer Lemon zest, tart green apple, freshly baked bread crust, and almonds/hazelnuts. Echoed on the palate, with biting acidity...but that is generally going to be the case with a "Brut Nature" bottling. Lingering finish, leaving lemons and lees on the palate. Super tart, refreshing, paired well with Manchego and fresh bread.

great delineation and cut. disgorged 11 months prior, this wine was not too austere for me, but perhaps for others. blind would have guessed BdB, despite the cepage being 55/45 pinot noir/chardonnay.

Obwohl Pinot Noir dominiert, in der Nase reiner Apfel, reif, Bratapfel, schöne Altersnoten. Trinken!
