Guy's Night: ABBC (Anything but Bordeaux and Chardonnay) (Joe & Khem's Place, Mpls): Deep gold color. Drank a glass over an hour plus. Petrol on the nose up front, lacqueur, beeswax, light white flower notes, and an oxidative character. The palate is oxidative, petrol, golden fruits, oily, round and full bodied, white pepper on the finish. Mature and lacks freshness, so probably best to finish these off.

Guys night out - ABBC (Anything But Bordeaux or Cabernet): Pop and pour, drank about 1/6th of the bottle over 1.5 hours. Very Rhone white styles, beesaw, lemon. A fellow taster pointed out its resemblance to a Lopez Heredia white, which is a great comparison, this wine just has more fruit and less complexity.

Anything Goes but Cab and Bordeaux! (Joe's Bistro): This was a slight disappointment as my expectations were very high. Still, a very good wine! Nose initially showed some diesel, which blew off after a few minutes and some white flower and stone fruit came through. Palate was waxy/oily (not in a bad way) with mild honeycomb, unripe peach and some spice. Pretty straight-forward wine that drinks nicely but not the greatest value for my palate. A quick note to point out that I am way more picky with whites than with reds. 90 to 91 points for my palate.

Beautiful wine - simple as that. Good body but not too heavy - so perfumed and also fresh from the green harvest part of the wine - alas my last bottle

Pop and pour. In the glass, slightly hazy deep gold, almost light orange in color. On the nose, honeysuckle, oak, and a faint touch of green apple. On the palate, Meyer lemon, petrol, and floral notes, with a secondary note of apple. An almost creamy, oily midpalate leads into a surprisingly crisp (if not acidic or tannic) finish.

Is this wine really overpriced? I just don't know. Auction prices are low compared to the community price. Anybody have an opinion? I believe it is a wonderfully made wine offering quality and pleasure.

Bring a Good Bottle at The Kenwood (The Kenwood, Mpls, MN): Light medium gold color. Followed a glass over an hour. The nose has a mix of citrus and tropical fruits; lychee, tangerine, peach with floral aromatics. The palate has citrus oil, peach, tangerine, medium bodied, but it comes up a bit angular on the finish. I'm thinking this was better a year or two ago. 89 to 90pts.

Mixed Offerings at Kenwood (Kenwood Restaurant, Minneapolis): Unique wine. Intense with minerals, lemon zest, floral, honeysuckles and minerals. Won't think this is a Northern Rhone but an interesting wine and would love to try this again in a smaller group. 92+

The bouquet of this is divine. I don't even need to drink it. Ripe pineapple, guava, passion fruit, lemongrass, ginger, coriander and more explode from the glass. Rich, oily, unctuous palate with more lush tropical fruit. The finish leaves you wanting more but stays with you for a minute. I still recommend av decant. It's also best served between 50-55 degrees - too cold and it begins to close down.

Small tasting glass @ VINEUM during service, so a brief note. Tasted after the 2013, this is slightly less rich and exotic. Perhaps needs a little time still to envelop further? But also, a very good wine by Maggie!

This wine is all about the texture. I love what maggie does with roussanne. This wine took hours to open up though, so I recommend a 4+ hour decant right now. Otherwise, drink 2022-2028

I love the honey and spice in this... such a unique tasting experience. Full-bodied and with a long, almost oily finish. Pair it carefully and you will be rewarded.

30 min open before drinking (no decant). Bright golden yellow color. Apple, pine tree sap, lemon zest, and elder flower on the serious nose. Thick, viscous palate. We had the ‘14 at the Antica Terra tasting room and it was wonderful. I think this just needs time to be a 92 pt wine.

Willamette Valley Weekend Visit; 5/26/2018-5/27/2018: Tasting at the winery. Intensely floral start with very ripe fruit, slightly candied, slightly candies. Very good concentration, but warm at finish. Drink young. Stolpman fruit.

Big floral nose, then an incredible waxy, oily mouthfeel. Flavors are floral and citrus with deep minerality. The finish is equally complex and rewarding, and sails on and on. Superb in every way.

PNP. Deep golden yellow color. Honey, pear, tangerine, brioche and floral perfume on the nose. Super smooth, super greasy palate, with plush acidity.
Firm tannins on the medium long finish, this has improved dramatically in the two years since I last tested it. The nose is like a still Champagne.
