Pre-celebration dinner (Trelissick Crescent, Ngaio, Wellington, New Zealand): As always, a beautiful, round and ripe expression St. Péray. gorgeous oak handlig matches perfectly the low-acid nature of the Marsaane-Roussane blend. While flower, wet stone, ripe apricots, warm vanilla. Rich, ripe and round. Super.

Oily, fat textured St Peray, tropical fruits with great depth and style, waxy, honeyed, spicy. Great match with a pasta with lobster tails, garlic, butter and lemon juice.

Big, without being too much. Honey, vanilla and apricots on nose, clearly an oak infuence. Viscous on palate, a noticable creaminess and with that bitterness you get from Marsanne. Really nice

Heady despite its 13.5% abv, honeyed and stony with hints of pineapple, fennel, quince and lemon, then a bitter finish. The 20% new oak was discernible at first as a creamy vanilla note and then integrated, but I wonder whether the wine was actually nicer before that happened. Beautifully textured - opulent without any fatness. Superb match for lemon roast chicken...

Give this an hour to air , and the complex layers of aroma will reveal themselves. First you get dried apricots and a flinty smokiness, then it opens up to show an opulent array of pears, white flowers, quince, honied peach and a spicy , almost curried note. On the palate, dry and creamy at the same time, with a long finish of dry salinity with hints of fino sherry, ending on the characteristic flavour of Brazil nuts. A individual and characterful wine, redolent of the appellation , that will accompany food perfectly.

This is simply fantastic at this stage. Lychee and pine apple on the nose. Incredibly fresh and vibrant on the palette. Tropical fruits with a lingering ceste of lemon as aftertaste. This went through a little dormant phase a while back but only to emerge with much more complexity and pleasure.

EEE July 2020 Rhone Wines (@ AR): In the bouquet yellow fruits, honey and minerals, expressive and complex. On the palate the same impressions. Full bodied, good acidity and pleasant sweetness.

80% Marsanne, 20% Roussanne from old vines. Terricfic Saint-Peray, starts of with marks of pineapple and mango combined with spices, especially curry. Restrained, with good structure there are notes of anise and fennel as well. Full and round, fat texture. Requires food.

Very exciting St. Peray cuvée with a bouquet of quince, lime, white flowers and herbs (fennel and cumin). It has creamy mouthfeel which is quite persistent and balanced by pungent acidity. I guess it will hold for quite some time but it is allready very delicious right now.

Utrolig flot. Syren var høj og næsten kantet, så det haster ikke.

Wonderful Saint Peray, rich and full on, tropical fruits but in a reserved style, with spices and fennel on the back. Beau vin.

Melon with a soft hint of lemon zest on the nose. On the palette it shows nice acidity and some butter.
