This is a big eloquent pinot both on the nose and on the palate. Big fruit that leans toward a syrah (without the pepper) but its acidity keeps it fresh and enjoyable. There is a lot of stem here perhaps and its reflected on the nose. This is versatile in the sense that is drinkable alone as a cocktail but also went well with a beef stew with vegetables.

What a tough wine to do blind. One of us called Cab Franc, I called old world Syrah... the reveal was confusing.
This is a dark, brooding Pinot that has a lot of stem, dirt, and rusticity. Can't say it comes across as a Pinot, or a Burgundy at all. Seeing the notes detailing all the non-Pinot characteristics here make my ego a bit more padded, lol. Surprising reveal!

I'd give this wine a 91 on quality, but it probably isn't ready to drink. The wine has dark shadowy personality. I agree with OnWisconsin that there is a good amount of fruit and savory/stemmy flavors, but it doesn't come together. There is a good amount of tannin that should allow this wine to age out but unclear whether it will get tastier.

Black cherries, tilled soil, and a leafy note from stem inclusion.
Low tannin and medium acid. Finish exhibits intense fruit concentration.
Opened this bottle to test drive my new Zalto Burgundy stems. The fruit concentration on palate and nose reminds me of top tier California Pinot and the tilled soil/stem character remind me of Burgundy. The structure is definitely a let down and makes me question how much longer this could age, but overall a good wine.
Update on day 2: Score lowered to 91, as I don't believe the elements come together. There is intense fruit concentration and savory notes, but they just aren't cohesive. It's also very stemmy (arguably too much) on the nose, but not on the palate which is throwing me off.
A great wine from Rajat Parr, quite dark for a PN. But super complex and with many layers, cigar, stall with lots of red fruit. Will be even better in a couple of years.

Burgundian CA Pinot. Opened for 60 minutes before Thanksgiving dinner. Dark cherries, light cola notes, and 30 second finish. Medium to dark red color. Very good wine and drinking beautifully now

100% whole clusters, 16 months in French oak (25% new). Dark in color, dense, clear. Mature dark cherries, raspberry bush, herbaceous with great lift and elegance. Intense palate with compact fruit and blood orange-like acidity. Fine grained tannins and evident traces of stem. Salt stone and herbs. Every time I try Bloom's Field I'm surprised by the full body profile, elegantly perfumed but with a relatively thick body, which for me tips over and becomes too heavy. Also, Bloom's Field is the label from DDLC that for me shows most of the new oak, or should I say is most unbalanced. Together with the harsh stems the wine is all over the place. The nose is quite lovely though, maybe time will turn this into something worth waiting for.

A touch less impressive than a few months ago, showing more of a sweeter , juicier core of fruit. Nowhere near the sweet spicy mix of new world Pinot style though and this is still with restraint and elegance. Solid 91

Popped an hour prior to dinner, and decanted into a Voss bottle. Wow, this was on fire when served. Fireworks on the nose. Complex spices, sandalwood & angelica-roots... Almost everyone called whole-cluster/stems on this one, and guesses all centered on Vosne. Dark-red cherry fruited on the palate with silky texture. Finished with a slight tinge of bitter choc taste. Quite an amazing wine at its current price point!

A very solid wine and US Pinot Noir humble pie 1 of 2 on the day ( Ceritas Escarpa 2012 was the other Papies 93) as we usually avoid these wines. Fresh and light , Burgundian with an extra edge of ripeness, very well made and elegant. Simply delicious wine and in it and it’s likes we have found a parallel to what old school Napa is to Bordeaux. Very solid 92-93

Nose featuring dark-red fruits/cherries, "dang-gui"/angelica-root (stems?). Velvety textured on the palate, with nice (not-too-sweet) dark-red fruits. Very proper; Would've loved this more with more lift and elegance...

Very suave texture with lovely austere cherry fruit. Excellent intensity and verve and a fine mineral crunch on the finish. Tasted blind I guessed Burgundy so there you go...

Tasted at the Skurnik Grand Portfolio Tasting in NYC. Poured by Rajat Parr. Once again 100% whole cluster fermented. Bright acidity. Earthy red fruit and minerals on the nose. Creamy texture with minerally, earthy, spicy strawberry and red cherry on the palate. Moderately long on the finish. Very nice but just a little reticent at this point in its development. Needs to be held in a good cellar until at least its 10th birthday IMO and probably glorious for a decade and a half beyond that. It’s hard for me not to like a Burgundian styled wine with good Cali fruit.

Vanilla and red fruit on the nose. Cranberry, salted cured meat, some herbs, new car leather; very clean and smooth and definitely shows the skill of the winemaker. Salt became more and more pronounced over 3 hours in the decanter as the heat went away. Very fun to drink.

Strong minerality wrapped around muted red fruit. A wide current of sea water through a river of mild cherry. I’m told I’m supposed to love this wine. I liked it. A lot. I was intrigued by it. But I wasn’t seduced.

Super interesting. I like this bottle. Im glad that SOMM 3 introduced me. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like vanilla and clove. It tastes like pomegranate, stoniness and lead pencil. The wine has leathery texture. The wine finishes long. The wine has medium acidity.

red fruit and ripe stems on the nose. high toned on the palate; just shy of medium bodied on the palate. Very delicious and friendly right now, and I like this a lot. It may be a little on the fruit-forward side for old-world palates.

Garnet, with pink edges
Nose: herbaceous, baked plum with hints of raspberry
Body: acid medium, low tannis, slightly tart with an earrhy body. Thicker consistency than I expected for a Pinot.
There is a lot going on in this one.

Sandhi and Domaine de la Cote with Rajat Parr (New Street Wine, London EC2): Tastes more evolved than the Memorious - game, mint, and a focused arc of crunchy and lifted red fruit. Desirable, especially given its young age.
