As the name suggests, these are the favorite plots of the master of the estate. And we quickly understand why this vintage is such a favorite for me. It’s a mini Clos des Goisses for €30 estate price. It is vinous and precise, deep, powerful but at the same time delicate. A very good champagne.

Wines over Chinese New Year; 2/8/2024-2/12/2024: 80% Pinot Noir, 20% Chardonnay. Disgorged April 2022. Drank more like a Chard-dominant blend with green apple fruit, brioche and a crowd-pleasing sweetness. As usual, Hebrart is always a great introduction to champagne for non-believers but at the same time with sufficient precision to please nerdier drinkers looking for more intellectual stimulation.
A blend of 80% Pinot Noir and 20% Chardonnay. Disgorged 8 February 2023. Light to medium yellow-golden colour. Red berries, lime, green apple, biscuit, vanilla pastry, chalk, and light smoke, with great, fresh acidity and very good length. The mousse is medium fine and creamy. Clean and fresh, with good complexity, and very pleasant. A nice bottle of champagne!

A blend of 75% Pinot Noir and 25% Chardonnay. Disgorged 27 April 2021. Medium yellow golden colour. Lemon curd, apple, vanilla pastry, almond paste, biscuit, brioche, and lightly smoky and lightly chalky minerality, with good acidity and superb length. Well balanced, with good fruit and good autolysis character. The mousse is medium-fine and perceived as creamy if slightly aggressive. Nice!

Disgorgement April 2021 Light golden color, yeasty nose, berries, red apple and mango, a little bit vanilla and lemon. in the mouth more lemon, some pastry notes and peach, mineral, more intense than precise but absolutely lovely. Very long finish on the citric fruits side and mineral notes. Always a 🔝 choice for the price!

19 July 2021 disgorgement; dosage "Brut" (well under 10g/l I would guess). From the "LF18" code I guess maybe a 2018 base. 75/25 PN/C.
On first opening this has a rather aggressive mousse, and quite an acidic attack. But it mellows with some air, and then we have a fairly straightforward, easy drinking, quite crisp bottle of fizz. Well-balanced, citrus and a little yeast on the nose, tart fruit & just a little brioche on the palate, a clean slightly drying finish.
Overall it's, er, champagne! Generic, not distinctive, but perfectly drinkable. OK, but not great QPR at the ~US$38 that I paid.

April 2021 disgorgement. I think my last bottle of this had an earlier disgorgement date and maybe older vintage base, and was more ready to go from the pop of the cork than this one. This is bright and bracing, a laser beam of a blanc de blancs. But it's actually significantly better the day after, when the fruit turns thicker and yellower, still laser bright but with richer elements like lemon jam (and resembling that aforementioned prior bottle).
unfortunately this is one of the effect of COVID pandemic. (distribution sold like crazy in the last 1,5 years) In 2020 I´ve bought from this cellar bottles with disgorgement in 2018 In 2021 I´ve bought from this cellar bottles with disgorgement in March 2021... this time the wine was very much vertical and less expressive in terms of fruits complexity. I'm considering to not open another bottle of this batch before 2024 at the least..

disgorgement 2018 and I strongly suggest to keep this bottle at least a couple of years in the cellar. golden brilliant with fine bubble, lovely notes of red apple, yeast and red berries in the mouth is creamy, prevalence of tropical fruits (mainly mango), wild berries, dried fruit, pastry notes and a little lemon. long finish! great QPR!

2018 disgorgement. Initially very yeast driven but opens up with an hour of air. Somewhere in the middle of what I would think of as a grower style and a big house. Enjoyable.

Sort of a yeast bomb: yeast odors exploded (figuratively) from the bottle upon opening. I actually turned my head away from the smell. Super frothy on pouring ("powerful petillance" as a note below says). Very yeasty and bready, even over time. Somewhere underneath all the yeast, by the third glass I could detect white orchard fruits. Medium body, good acidity. I like bread/toast in champagne, but this was too much. January 2019 disgorgement.

Improved since my last bottle and seemed to have a fresh lifted nose rather than heady. A almost candy liquorice , bready biscuit strawberry nose. I was worried it may oxidise but quite the opposite. It’s had some of that profile but is fresh and effervescent on the palate with good fresh fruit. In a good place now.

Can never go wrong with Hebrart. 75% Pinot, 25% Chardonnay. Bright and clean red fruits, some aggressive bubbles. Light and airy style of champagne that isn’t too precise or driven, but the style works very well for Hebrart. I always find a certain honeyed sweetness for their wines and I recently found out it’s because of the use of MCR in the dosage. Perfect to be washed down with food.

This was a 2014 base. An easy and pleasant champagne with a rather young and fresh profile which makes me wonder if a year or two may improve though given the heady nose it could take on more oxidative notes. Good nose, lots of typically bread and yeast but mid and end palate just a bit light and lacking. At the price no complaints.

DG 04/2018 Berries dominate the bouquet with a heavy yeastiness: blueberries, blackberries, cranberries, raspberries, blackcurrants, lemons, grapefruit, coconut, some bread dough, flowers such as jasmine and lilies, a gentle oxidation on the finish. Nice to try and easy to drink, although quite a simple wine; perhaps it's still too young, I'd like to try it again in the future with more bottle age. 87pt

Mes Favorites blends reflects the house plantings: 75% Pinot Noir and 25% Chardonnay. All coming from the selection of favourite parcels with 50 years old vines in home village of Mareuil-sur-Aÿ.
Vinified and matured in vats, full malo. 36 months on lees. 2014 is the base vintage and 40% of reserve wines - equal parts of 2013 and 2012.

Tasted over four days (using a swing-top, single arm sparkling wine stopper- these puppies really hold pressure to the point where they can made a loud bang on release if you’re not careful). The first day the wine seemed a little off balance. The dosage was prominent and seemed to stick out more than anything else. It showed some promise, but I was pretty skeptical. I left about half the bottle in the fridge for a few days. By the fourth evening, though, the Champagne had really come around. Everything was in surprising harmony. Though on the fuller side, it showed a vibrant mineral/chalky note, with persistent yellow apple, floral and subtle stone fruit aromas. It had a note similar to brown bread or bread crust, though it did not come off as very leesy. Absolutely came around, the development just astounded me. I’ll be scooping up more for a long sleep in the cellar. 2014 base.
