This is a special Neuf. First sweet tobacco, also smoky aromas and black cherries, plum and blackberry. Juicy, deep and rich, but also a lot of power and bitterness, but all the time a sense of purity. A pretty long finish.

Cdp at its finest. Beautiful notes of smoke, light tobacco and oak with cherry and plums notes on the palate. Full bodied with a finish. Stunning, will improve but it’s really very nice now and not sure if I’d wait another 5 years before the next bottle

small production, top cuvee from Roger Sabon. Gave it 3 hours In the decanter and served it at 16-17 degrees celcius. Well-balanced ChdP with beginning notes of maturity, no sense of ‘heat’ or stewed fruit. Very good, but also quite expensive compared to my ‘go-to-chateuneuf’ from Clos des Papes. Great wine neverheless.

Lovely wine and my first time to try the Le Secret. Fully mature with great depth and garrique. Mushrooms and port-like characteristics. Lots of depth so I suspect this will hold well for several years.

Very sweetish mature fruit, southern warm climate nose with licorice. Dense fruit, concentrated but with a good structure and a tannic kick at the end. The finish is warm and extremely lingering. No hurry to drink, will most certainly evolve.

2006 Beaucastel VV : This is a special white wine, hints of honey and yellow flowers blossom, เก็กฮวย, after 2-3 hours the nose is more open and very lovely. Body is dense, full structure like drinking red wine. Aftertaste is quite tight. This is not an easy wine, slowly drinking is recommended.
2009 Beaucastel Cuvee Jacques Perrin : First impact is great, full dimensions, massive nose of dark fruits and flowers crushed, full body, very delicious, good hidden acidity with the powerful finish. Woooww... After 2 hours, it's showing the elegant side that's telling us about the future and it must be a very very beautiful like Burgundy feeling with CdP texture when it's at its peak. A truly great wine !!
2005 Roger Sabon Le Secret : This wine is all-time my favorite, clean, fresh, beautiful complexity, every single element is brilliant, good combination of ABC, (acidity, balance, complex) and delicious too. Absolutely well-made and not heavy at all. My WOTN !!
2007 Rayas : Made from 100% Grenarche, the nose is sweet, lovely sweet like a Musigny with a typical scent of Grenarche. Seductive, full of passions, baby powder and plenty of scents so dramatic. Silky, solid texture, amazing round, delicious already at this moment and can go another 20-30 years. The No.1 Chateauneuf-de-Pape for sure.
2000 Pegau Da Capo : It becomes a real CdP at this period of life, classic nose, beautiful barnyard smell, moss living in the clear water and sweet prune, dry fruits. Lovely full body, good balance and less power when drink it after all big wines. Anyway, it's good CdP but should not be at this price, IMO.
2001 Beaucastel : Performed very nice, very good vintage and great enough when drink it alone. Looking forward to try it again some day, a lazy afternoon till a good evening.
Cheers...

A lovely CDP, just hitting its stride. Deep purple/black, with a satiny texture. Black raspberry and garrigue, toffee, lavender. Sweet ripe fruit is enveloped in a soft glove of nearly chewy tannins, medium acidity, very long finish. A supple, balanced wine. Outstanding and one of my favorites from this great vintage for the region.

Superbe. 94 pts

96+. Double decanted from 4-6:30PM before serving at around 8PM. Barnyard floor, spices and red fruits combined in a VERY classy package. This has a long life ahead. Drink now only with a serious decent, otherwise 2014 at the earliest.

Pop and pour and then consumed from decanter over 2 hours. Closed at first but started to emerge over time. Much less of a fruit bomb than other CdP. Quite delicious now but still felt like a baby as well.

À l'aveugle, verticale Vieux Télégraphe. Nez subtil, discret, fruit rouge et....poli à ongles! Bouche élégante, aérienne, qui me semble moderne.

92-94 pts

Sabon Prestige/Secret Vertical (Restaurant AOC): Nose: A little hints of sewer and dark cherry. Overripe dark plums and vanilla Palate: Seems a little closed. Blackberry fruit. Seems somewhat off balance and mostly displays a harsh tannin profile. Only medium aftertaste with mostly tannins. Okay wine but nothing really exciting.

Far different than many other 05 CDP which have massive fruit forwardness. This had insane balance and finesse at this early stage. Fruit was spot on and the great mineral and earth components. Actually approachable now but can last for many years to come

Uncorked DK: Chateauneuf 2005 Report: One of the lightest colored in this tasting. A beautiful nose of flowers and raspberries in an almost burgundian fashion. Well integrated, some smoke, leather and tobacco already peeking through the primitive fruit. By far the most feminin of these young monster CNDP's although still not for the wimpy. I really liked it. 95+.
