I got to this bottle very late unfortunately. Pretty fruit forward for a Brut in my opinion but the few wines I have had from P. Jouet have been a bit fruit forward I got to this after the carbonation was no longer!! unfortunately. Good minerality still an a good backbone supports this wine. Good acidity also. Wish I could’ve got to this while it was fresh. Still a good drinking wine. And dEf still enjoyed drinking it despite “no bubbles”

Blind, from MAG. This was very popular at the table tonight, most preople preferred this over the also stunning Grand Siecle #26, which was more expressive and my favorite. The 2012 Belle Epoque has enormous precision on the palate, fine perlage. Nose of citrus some brioche, holding back still. So much delineation and poise. Clearly too young. Drink after 2030. 96+

I have fond memories of the 1985 and then 1988 vintages of this champagne, back when I first learnt to love this champagne! The subsequent vintages, probably owing to my own evolution, seem disappointing in comparison, but of course are still excellent, just perhaps no longer my favourite, other than for sentimental reasons. They seem to be released close to 10 years after the vintage and I would not suggest keeping them much longer before drinking.

Very different than my last bottle a year ago—seems more like bottle variation than evolution but who knows. This was still excellent and I think one of the underrated house champagnes. Crisp citrus, yeasty, bready, perfect tiny bubbles. A bit more savory and perhaps cheesey notes vs last time. I enjoyed this. Great with lobster ravioli (probably great with anything)

Danish Top 20 champagne blind tasting vintage 2012 (24 btls) (Nimb): Horisontal half blind tasting of 24 top champagnes from vintage 2012. Conclusion: It is a great vintage. My topratings were to some extent unexpected. My winner was Diebolt-Vallois Fleur de Passion which I rated 96. In a shared second place with 94+ were Legras Saint Vincent (unexpected but I don't forget that 1996 might be the best champagne I have ever tasted so far. Try to get a btl. if you can. It is difficult but worth it - still in a perfect drinking window), Veuve Clicquot vintage(!), Moet & Chandon Grand vintage(!) and Perrier-Jouet Belle Epoque.
This wine: Lemon color. Non oxidative style. Extremely nice and delicate aromas. Dried fruit, blossom, toast. On the palate also strawberry and grapefruit (a little bitterness). Creamy mousse. 94+
This was so excellent it made me excited about the 2012 vintage. So crisp and elegant yet full Of delicious fruit and minerals. I am surprised by all of the negative reviews here. Bottle variation?

Toasty, floral nose with raspberry hints. Air reveals creamy and banana nose. Citrus and grape fruit acidity along with peaches and banana hints. balanced with red fruits - strawberry and raspberry. Peach and pear along with lemon on a creamy finish. Lovely balance and structure.

This wine is pale gold in color with a medium intensity of aroma. The nose is composed of bread dough, asparagus, yeast, green apple, hazelnut, yellow pear, banana, and under-ripe strawberries. The palate is comparable to the nose, minus the strawberries. This wine is dry with a medium+ level of acid, a full body, a long finish an aggressive mousse, and a medium ABV. Overall this is a very good sparkling wine that should be drunk now.

Nächste Flasche erst in 3 - 5 Jahren.

2012 Pinot Tasting + some lovely supplementals (@Private location, Sersheim): Glass: Gabriel Standard Very yeasty nose that cleaned up with time in the glass. Boooooring. Wow, the 2012 does not live up to the 2008 I had a few months ago. It's not young, or needs to develop, it's just a poor wine. I still can't believe PJ puts meunier in their prestige cuvee, but after a sniff it was obvious. Tech sheet says 5% meunier, it tastes like much more than that.
You're better off going with Laurent-Perrier or Taittinger brut non-vintage for 1/3 the price.
So reductive several tasters called it flawed, but generally disappointing and I like a bit of reductiveness in a wine. Tasted with Dom & Dame and there was no comparison and consensus this wine was substandard.

Les Trois garcons chez Lukas: This is a marvel of a wine. Exquisitely elegant, it is not about power or intensity, but balance, finesse and energy. It has that feeling of weightlessness, just floating on the palate like a creamy cloud of the lightest sweet lemon and flower petals. A hint of seashore and fresh oysters as well. Almost linear and devoid of complexity, almost like drinking scented mineral water at times, but oh so good! It is hard to describe the feeling as it is so fleeting, but it is one of ultimate luxury and silky freshness. Very long. If, at some point in the future, this adds some more depth without losing its current balance, it will be a good candidate for my first 100 point wine.

Consumed too young, the 2012 Perrier-Jouët has not yet reached its Belle Époque. Today, it's all lemon, marzipan, yeast, and lots of tiny bright bubbles, with a finish that starts out lemony and ends with a distinct petrol aftertaste. The beautiful bottle may justify its price tag in time. For now, I found it enjoyable enough as a gift, but I wouldn't spend my own money on it.

Very very good! At this stage much more enjoyable than 08. Open, wonderful buttery and initially very strawberry. Best thing is the fantastic balance and long sweet lemon aftertaste. Very sensual. Now I understand why Belle Epoque is such an iconic wine. Add more complexity and it would close in on the best champagnes I have ever tasted.

Perrier-Jouët's 2012 Belle Epoque offers a brisk tiny bead and magnificent aromatics for such a young sparkler. Straw-colored and vibrant, it delivers a package of citrus, pit fruits, marzipan, bread dough and cardamom. Medium-bodied and dense in the middle, it concludes with a crisp finish that lingers on and on. This young tête de cuvée is impressively structured and harmonious, making me quite certain that it will merit an even higher score in the upcoming years. Drink now-2032.

I hate to be scathing, but on my first sip of this I almost did a real-life spit take. The petrol note was so strong it tasted like sparkling gasoline! I put the glass down in shock, and saw that my friend Nico was having a similar reaction. Only after several glasses did the brioche & lemon notes manage to penetrate the rather noxious acridness.... I've read some reviews speculating that Perrier-Jouët released this champagne too early. I'm curious enough that I plan to buy it again in couple years and see if the experience is different.

After the gorgeous 2011 this one was a disappointment. Just your generic, middle of the road Champagne, and too expensive for that. I agree with some reviewers here that it needs lots more time. Released too early. It's a waste to open it now. Good lesson for me. I'll be going through notes here, on cellartracker.com more carefully before committing to a purchase. Oh well...I know better now than to purchase 2012 anytime soon.

Brioche and nuttiness. Carbonation is light but perfect. I was a little skeptical since the bottle kind of looks like a marketing stunt but the wife loved the bottle for celebrating and it felt better for my wallet that it was so tasty.
Only champagne I’ve tasted that is better was a ‘90 Veuve but surprisingly similar profile.

One of the finest champagnes I have ever had. Has almost everything you want in a great champagne. Immediately different from the NV cuvees. Fantastic brioche and slight nuttiness. Beautiful acidity but also a softness to the wine. The mousse isn't too aggressive - the wine dominates and the bubbles enhance it. Loved it
Very opulent, white peaches and flowers, not much autolitic flavors. Needs more time but is great now if you prefer a more straightforward fruity style of Champagne.

Binny's Champagne Gala (Binny's Oakbrook): On one continent it is Fleur de Champagne and on another it is Belle Epoque. Whatever, a wine with a personal history as I recall boldly walking into Perrier-Jouet in Epernay in 1986 and enjoying a private tasting. Those bottles long gone (1982 vintage) and I have no way of comparing this one thirty years on. I did not make a good note (tart and bracing), which surely doesn't do it justice. What I can say is that the Grand Brut I found to be its equal if not superior.

good light champagne color, at first rather sharp on the nose with lime acids and orchard notes, on the palate green and a bit shrill with a fuller bodied pear-driven fruit than expected, while I agree with the poster below that this was released far too soon- happily it came together after about a half hour in glass, the shrill acids receded leaving a pleasant and attractive nose of pears, green apples and savory pastry crust, on the palate calming with pear and orchard notes, white flowers and pastry crust notes leading into a good firm lime-driven acid finish, it has been quite some time since I had Belle Epoque- and this was a pleasant surprise I must say, being released a bit early and given its easy-going nature- this may have a tough time in a market full of amazing 2008 tete de cuvees and very strong 2012 and 2015 grower champagnes, but I am a believer and based on many fond memories of good vintages in the 80s and early 90s- I think 2012 is a year in which to give this wine serious consideration, it is a bit more cheerful and easygoing than many of its peers (and always has been, really- in direct contrast to the more assertive personalities popular today in grower champagnes)- but it is beautifully balanced and those lovely pear and sweet pastry notes are very endearing. If you have fond memories of the 1980s- the big hair, Wall Street being cool, Porsches, Tony's and Harry's Kenya (for Houston folks) and the time when Perrier-Jouet Belle Epoque was the champagne to be seen drinking- the 2012 is a great trip down memory lane with, I think, a bright future.

At walkabout tasting - this was nice enough but unfortunately as I often find this prestige cuvee just looks better than it tastes. Something quite average about it. There are other (non prestige) vintage champagnes from 2012 out there which cost 1/3 and are performing better (Gosset, Deutz).

Personally, I felt this was far, far too young to release. It’s nowhere near ready. Tight, tart and bitter. So much granny Smith apples. Medium plus acidity but no depth or complexity. Unbalanced at this point. This needs much longer to settle. Perrier Jouet made a big mistake in my eyes to release this now. They should have waited until 2022 when I suspect most houses will release their 2012s.
(Disgorged 2019, 45% PN, 5% M, 50% CH, 8 gr/l) Light yellow colour with a green shimmering with a nose showing white flowers, citrus and brioche. Opens up with chalk minerals and red berries in a very positive and pleasant way. Very light and creamy mousse on the palate at first focused on fruity freshness with a mixture of green and yellow apples, lime citrus and opens up with minerals and saline notes before transforming into the long and fresh finish dominated by lime bitterness. This is a good vintage of Belle Époque that should evolve gracefully over the coming decade, but at the same time is very good directly from the start with its rich fruitful style. (Best 2022-2042)

Needs time but already some nice depth. Sweet stone fruit, brioche, mineral, and hazelnut. Acid is high and bubble are tight yet still shows well. What’s not to like.

Tues Wine Night @ Imperial GWC!: This is refreshing and drinking nicely now. Not bad today but I would give this more time for the secondaries to come forth. 91/92

Nice light style, very polished but one can do much better for the price. Worth a try and of course the package is a knockout. That said, it's not something that will make it through my cellar doors again.

Light yellow colour with a green shimmering with a nose showing white flowers, citrus and brioche.
