Four hour decant, this exhibits cherry notes, wet stone, celery and underbrush in both the nose and palate. Air is a requirement for this one, it starts off too dominated by the vegetal side of its nature, air time allows its funk to blow off and it fruit side to come out.

PnP. ABV 13%. Intermixed of dark soils and flowers on the nose. Smooth and sweet on the entry, already drinking well. Mostly dark fruits with good density and length. Ripe and fine-grained tannins, elegant with excellent balance. Good wine and exceptional QPR as I paid £87/6 IB, what a great bargain! Back up the truck if you see it at that kind of price. This has to be the bargain of the year! 92+ almost 93, maybe 92.5001. Stagflation era kind of wine.

Zippy nose of tart cherries. The mid-palate has a good acidity, more sour cherries and blackcurrants, some green vegetables (nice herby note), some white pepper… nice length. Fresh. Not my favorite style but not a bad wine at all.
Tasted blind, it was classic Loire Cab Franc... fresh green bell pepper sprinkled in white pepper, with a bit of smoke. There isn't an abundance of acid or tannin... it's a nice wine for that genre.
A beautiful lifted leafy nose with red fruits, florals, soil, little bell pepper, and a little brett that adds to the whole on the nose. Surprisingly floral and lifted on the palate as well. Mid weighted and graceful with a stony focused precise feeling palate. Detailed, fresh, and floral. Quite long. Better on day two, gaining depth and breadth. 91+

Medium ruby with moderate clearing at rim - ? unfiltered Medium aromas of red fruit and plum with predominant green herbs/ pepper and mild oak influence Medium/ thin palate of red fruit Medium acidity and medium tannins with shortish finish Pretty typical Chinon but a little lacking, especially considering the sunny vintage
I rarely do this, but tasting this wine the next day definitely warranted comment - The wines fruit has now blossomed into intense red fruit as I had previously expected - now warranting a 90-91

Single blind tasting Ruby, prominent rim clearing, filtered Medium aromatics with mild oak. Initially black ripe fruit. Slowly evolved to prominent pyrazine bell pepper and other vegetal notes. Medium palate with medium tannin (gum and palate location), alcohol and acid. Bell pepper and black fruit. Finish is relatively short. Balance is off, leaning towards the tannin/vegetal with not enough fruit. Supposedly 2015 was a ripe vintage, but not reflected here.

By the glass at Vino Volo in MSP. Nose is a bit green with grape leaf, dried herbs and a hint of an earthy barnyardy thing. Palate is bright and acidic and very refreshing. Notes of cherries, tobacco and char with hints of green stems and leaves. Would definitely benefit from food; could probably pair with almost anything from potstickers to pork tacos to chicken salad.

85% of Chinon is valley but not this guy. This is on the slope. What he considers the Premier Cru. He really believes this is the best slope. The owner of Pallus. The house was built with the winery. Valley, first slope, then terrace with 2 meters of sand, then limestone tuffo, then slope, then forest. 12 months burgundy used barrels.
Mineral and salty and a little touch horsey. Delicate balance, precision of the tannins. A delicate vibrantion and long acidity. As the owner notes. THere is lots of depth there but its going to need some time. Soft right now.

P: LM body; RNDISH entry with NICE, ALMOST swtish frt met by a bit of astringent pucker which ULT quite resolves by the LONG finish with OCCASIONAL *glimpses* of a very, VERY slight bitterness & an attractive tangy/SWTNESS to the minimal very, VERY fine tannins. NICELY done for now & through '21! My EXC-/EXC; [This vendor's $19.95 is $5 < wine-searcher's next lowest!]

PNP and consumed in one sitting.
The vegetal side was more in the background. This bottle at this time was very harmonious. Dark fruit won out on the finish. Very satisfying.

Quality wine but borderline worth $24. Did not hold up 2nd night so score reflects this.

Nose: red/black fruit, potting soil, hint of violets.
Palate: paprika and bell pepper, sour red fruit. Gets less sour and more savoury as it opens.
Still young, so hold or be prepared for a 2 hour decant.
