forgot to look at disgorgement date... will add later. deeply colored showing a lot of red varietal in there… pretty standard NV mousse… aromatically its red fruit dominated, quite a bit of fruit, noticeable minerality, minimal lees and older wines. on the palate high acids, a bit round on the midpalate (neutral oak or full malo or riper chard in there). balanced wine with very good length, great intensity, nice complexity. plenty of finesse, a very fine texture, excellent expression of place. really nice.

This was the 03/21 disgorgement. This has really come together. Elegant interplay between fruit and minerals. Not too much in the way of mature notes, just a bit of brioche.

This Adrien Renoir 50/50 blend of Pinot and Chardonnay comes from the Grand Cru village of Verzy and was disgorged June 2022. Compared to the BD3C this wine feels more powerful and full, but I wouldn’t call it a particularly full bodied wine on its own. There’s impeccable balance and harmony here. Beautiful lemony acid and then this wonderful spicy aroma and palette presence that I can’t point to any one particular spice, but it’s more like a spice blend where each element enhances the others. I really like this quality in champagne. Lovely autolytic notes show up as the wine warms, and I found this wine to really hit its high mark with about 2 hours of air and served at cellar temp. Everything comes into full force, and before we knew it, the bottle was empty. Need to grab a few more of these - excellent QPR.

This entry level bottling is purportedly 50/50 Pinot and Chardonnay, but I thought it was a BdB because of the citrus and white flower. In hindsight though it would be unusual to have a BdB from Verzy, although he does do an excellent one (Les Montants). Appropriately lee-sy, but most importantly vinous. Many growers espouse a lean, mineral style with low to no dosage that can end up being thin and shrill if the fruit is insufficiently ripe or perhaps too-gently pressed - a problem compounded by the recent trend of salami slicing cuvées that lowers the overall quality of entry level cuvées. Anyway, this had salinity and minerality but also a rounded, decently mid-weight palate and good extract depth. Excellent for the price

Disgorged 2022. Great bottle. Don't serve too cold (go for 15° or more), let it breathe.
On the nose citrus, peach, apple. On the palette bright, good quality acidity; pears, apples, brioche. Slopes of Verzy are north-facing, which makes it very bright and linear.
Pinot noir brings nice structure to it. It has a medium body and a nice roundness to it. Can easily age up to three more years.

2019 base. Had a red-fruited, Pinot-dominated nose but palate had lip-puckering acidity that made me think Chardonnay. Needs more time to integrate unlike previous iterations that were more approachable.

The nose opens up spring-like and fresh, filled with peach notes, red apple, nectarine, chamomile, meyer lemons, elderflower, yellow florals, biscuits, and some toast. The Medium bodied feel is deft and balanced while showing off tart, high acidity along with an excellent, pleasing finish. This is a fresh fruit-driven Champagne with just the perfect amount of autolytics to keep it interesting. I'm finally beginning to dig into Adrien Renoir more and I'm certainly a fan.

Crisp apple and pear with undertones of sweet brioche on the nose. High acidity made a crackling sensation on the tongue. Really delicious grower champagne We drank it next to Langham Corallian sparkling and interesting to see the contrasting styles with the Langham being less brioche and more ripe fruit.

Disgorged 12/2018; 2.5 g/L dosage. Crisp and racy, with a lovely core of lemon curd and granny smith apple. Like most low-dosage champagnes, I feel this has benefited tremendously from a few extra years in bottle. The acidity is still high, but seems better integrated than when this was younger.

Not my style of champagne. I prefer his other Le Cepage (BdN). This is extremely low dosage 0.8 gms/ltr. Which i think is not enough given the fruit. The saving grace would be to leave it for 10 years or so. Would be probably liked more with those who enjoy, high acid, mineral and chalk driven bubbles. Drank from magnum .

Christmas gathering with high school friends: From magnum. Quite tight at first, the acidity and tension stuck out but with air it became more similar to previous impressions with ripe citrus fruits. I think this is the best entry-level champagne together with Bereche's.

Disgorged April 2020 with 1 g/l dosage. 50/50 Chardonnay and Pinot noir from 40 year old vines, includes 20% reserve wines. White flowers, lemon, crisp pear. It’s got good weight in the mouth, and the finish lasts for a significant time. 2/2 on Renoir wines now, certainly a rising star in champagne.

Served chilled with appz to all for Mom's Day, from bottle purchased 10/2020. Everyone liked, me more than most. New to grower Champs and so far like them much for their value and individuality. Quite bubbly at 1st and zippy on the palate, but settles rather quick and becomes a calm simpler beauty. Kept bottle rather still prior to opening and cork made it a good 30 feet high, nice pressure!

This is a pretty new producer for me that I think is really promising. Bright yellow tree fruits with some lemon. A nice sense of fruit with with acidity and some minerality. Not a ton of brioche type notes but a slight type of creaminess that isn't lactic or creamy, so maybe that's the dough part. The texture and shape makes this really easy to drink but it also does well with food. I may be underrating this as it could really blossom with just a bit of age. I expect it may become a house staple.
