  • Black core, red rim.
    Dark fruits, tar spice, soft but fragrant.
    Delicate for a Barolo, more Barbaresco-esque. Tannins plentiful but fairly soft and refined. Delicious red berries, soft dark spice, sweet fruit dominates. Hint of earthy richness but perhaps a bit closed right now. Excellent.

  • By the glass. Clearly on the modern side with a predominant floral appearance on the nose followed by a juicy fruity character on the palate. It looks like a much younger vintage than it really is. Slightly tannic finish with more fruit in the aftertaste.

    Por copas. Claramente del lado moderno con un predominante aspecto floral en nariz seguido de un jugoso carácter frutal en boca. Parece una añada mucho más joven de lo que realmente es. Ligeramente tánico finaliza con más fruta en el postgusto.

  • Interesting contrast to the 16 Via Nuova. The VN is still all pot-pourri and dried rose petals whereas the Cannubi is more complete but way less expressive

  • 醒酒十小时,闻香是香草奶油,草莓和樱桃的红果香气,甘草和橡木桶烘烤的气息,入口酸度高,酒液咸,矿物感清晰,收口甜,单宁紧致,铺满口腔,颗粒细腻,玫瑰花瓣和红果的香气,泥土混合着香料,还有焦油的气味,后段香料的辛辣感,漂亮的余味,甜美红果,玫瑰花,香草奶油,简直是香气爆棚。如果上一支酒是陈年的优雅,那这支毫无意义就是盛年的绚丽了,实在是太香,太华丽,集中度非常漂亮,口感又很干净。尽管酒还是一个很新的状态,但细腻的单宁让我们已经可以提前享用它,十个小时远没有到它的最佳状态,它还可以有着更多变化。

  • Decanted for 30 minutes before drinking over 2 hours. I wish I had let this sit longer in the decanter because it was getting better as the night went on. This was tight as a drum for the first hour with lots of tannins overpowering any potential depth or structure of the wine. When the palate opened up a little there was a lot of red berries and cedar. This is definitely in a shutdown phase right now. I wouldn't touch another bottle for 5+ years.

  • Yikes! This is good. Red cherry is the focus, but rose, star anise, cinnamon, minty herb, alpine forest and mushroom aromas are intense, pure and engaging. Full and rich on the palate, rather imposing tannins make this a bit tough at the moment, but there's huge depth of fruit and an incredibly dense texture. Though it has a deep dark side it has many bright highlights, and its overall character is quite lively and fresh. Super long. A delight to drink today, but this should sit for 10+. When this reaches maturity it will be monumental.

    On day two this shows greater variety of fruit, with notes of strawberry, cranberry and orange, but red cherry is still the focus.

  • Wanted to try one of these early in it’s life. Didn’t take detailed notes but in summary it is already in a great place but will surely reach some special heights with more time. Is so light and delicate - very transparent ruby color. Lots of bright fruit and other lovely aromas of flowers and fresh meadow herbs. Is so smooth yet bright already on the palette. Finish shows it certainly has the acidic backbone to promise it will evolve from here. Is still a little early to crack open one of these, but glad I did. Will be hard to resist the temptation to drink these now, but I do think patience will be rewarded. Another example of how Biodynamic farming practices really do seem to lead to a more precise clean and fresh wine.

  • Wonderfully intense and very seductive aromas with the most beautiful summer roses lying over concentrated redberry fruit, balsamic vinegar, against meat, extinguished fire and ripe rosehip. Fantastic touch on this full-bodied wine that really creates energy. What a fruit! Concentrated and vibrant fruit of cherries, tight fruit peel, more balsamic vinegar and mushrooms. The tannins bite, but not in a violent way. Beautiful acidity and tannin structure. Monumental Cannubi. 96 points.

  • An Overview of Chiara Boschis (Zoom!): Cannubi is the heart of Barolo, says CB, and has a mixture of soils that give it both strength and elegance. 2016 was perfection, she says. Cedar, menthol, roses, blackcurrant leaf. Gorgeous aromatic wine on the palate too, like a Zanzibar chest. Tannins are already approachable, and feel juicy and welcoming. Complex and delicious.

  • Dégusté à la cave. Nez impressionnant, magnifique fruit, complexe, floral, très élégant, bouche pleine et tannique, superbe longueur, magnifique équilibre, très beau potentiel, à mon avis, le meilleur des 3 Baroli.
