Allowed 5 hours of bottle breathing in hoping for a good performance. At first, the nose appears tight, but patience rewards as the bouquet gracefully unveils its layers of aromas one to two hours after serving. The palate experiences a symphony of intense red fruits. However, it seems this wine has entered a muted stage, suggesting it may benefit from further aging in a cellar for the next few years. A true testament to the potential and allure of Lachaux reds, this wine promises an extraordinary journey for those willing to wait and savor its evolving beauty.

Superbly lifted and pronounced aromas of violet, raspberry, orange peel, warm baking spices, ripe stem, toast, and forest floor. Medium+ acidity, medium slightly grippy tannins, and medium finish. The palate, appropriate for the level, did not match the exceptional nose, but overall it still greatly exceeded expectations. I could still taste the wine when licking my palate on the way home. No wonder this stuff costs so much now…

BYO Centropa (Centropa, Deichmann, Oslo): Servert blindt.

Uncorked 5 hours in advanced. A strawberry farm bouquet. It's young but fairly good demonstration of it's potential of elegance and balance. Keep for a few years before trying another one.

Drank over three days against the 2018 Liger Belair NSG Grandes Vignes. Initially LB was way more interesting although more fruit than typical spice. The Arnoux gained complexity and sweetness over time and was best on day 2. Excellent plum, cherry, and blue fruit with great tension. Touch of spice. Medium length.

Decanted for 3 hours. Very fragrant and silky wine with notes of strawberry, cranberry, jam, and spice. It doesn’t hit the heights or match the complexity of the Chambolle Musigny, but it’s a tasty bottle that could benefit from aging.

Very stemmy on the nose upon opening, but the pedigree was apparent; the texture was already incredibly silky and elegant, with powdery tannins and excellent structure. After a couple of hours, the stems knit together nicely with a bit of spice and purpley-red fruits, making for an enveloping bouquet that seems to draw you in, perfumed, floral, and utterly seductive.

I loved the floral 2017 of this wine, which had a certain charm I didn't find in this bottle. No trace of heat from the 2018 vintage, but there's an intensity to the tart red fruit, plenty of stemmy pepperiness and occasional hints of vanilla oak. Lovely silky mouthfeel and will surely improve, but I didn't fall for this wine.

Bottle breathe for 1 hour. Initially the nose offers violet, and a bit of "raw fish" smell but it evolves constantly into nice flowers and red fruit. Palate is tight initially, and need an hour to open up. Complex (given a village wine), and it becomes full body and round after 2 hours in the glass. It shows some gamey tastes, and long finishing. Quite interested to know how this wine evolves in the next few years.

First 2018 Arnoux I’ve tried. The aromatics really jump out of the glass. Whole cluster notes, spice and red fruit. Medium-bodied. Very nice. Give it 2-3 years and should drink well for a couple of decades.

Åpen nese. Parfymert og spennende. Ganske mørk i stilen. Relativt moden frukt. Plommer og blomster. Utrolig fin frukt i munn. Perfekt moden frukt med nydelig balanse. Lett og delikat, men har god kons. Finkornede tanniner i en elegant finish.
