Sweet melon, herbs and a fresh sea breeze on the nose. Exceptional, outstanding harmony and elegance on the beautifully velvet palate, slowly building up some savoriness on the mid palate towards the long finish where some very fine tannins glue itself to the palate. This has gained even more substance over the last year and is now a better wine still. Everytime I drink Tempier rosé I realize anew that this is one of those few signature wines of this world that are not comparable with anything else out there. 19/20
Always the best! Orange tinge. Bright. Balanced. Still loads of fruit! I had another 2019 Provençal rosé this weekend too. From Gassier, aged 2 years in Austrian oak. A food wine with a crazy balsamico note.

-- popped and poured -- -- tasted non-blind over 1 – 1.5 hrs. --
NOSE: strawberry water; slightly savory; medium-light to medium expressiveness.
BODY: coppery salmon color; medium-light body.
TASTE: lightly red-fruited; a touch leafy, and a bit powdery; medium-low acidity; alc. not noticeable (13.5%). Overall, disappointing for this bottling, but there’s always the possibility it simply needed more air, or perhaps just more cellar time.
Our third, and 1+ year after the prior: The July 2023 note below by JLHKISS describes it quite well for us. There is indeed a hint of petrol — and we found a slightly bitter edge. We also got strong suggestions of ash. To be honest, I wondered more than once over the course of three nights whether this was slightly corked. In any event, it definitely has character. It was enjoyable enough — but I would not call this a particularly friendly wine.

Opened and paired with roasted sockeye salmon, mixed salad, and Provancial olive oil splattered all over all of it. Consistent with notes 14 months ago, only balancing out and developing more flavors on the palate and into the finish (e.g., orange marmalade, peach creamsicle, petrol, and crushed seashells in soda water). Super complex but very nuanced, and I like the suggestions (below) to give this more air next time and see what emerges. Drink 2023-2028. Technical score: 92. Enjoyment score: 90.

This might be my favorite Rosè experience ever!! This was just phenomenal and not sure if it’s getting any better , but these are in a great place right now and think they’re gonna hang out here for a long while .. absolutely love by everyone and gone in the blink of an eye!!

Oeil de perdrix copper and hints of pink, inviting as always, the initial nose of strawberries and orange, ,,, opens up , with an hour's aeration ,to show a rich kaleidoscope of savoury aromas of seaspray , rosemary and thyme, sweet cherries orange and blackcurrant leaves, cantaloupe, and watermelon , and that faint hint of cheese rind! On the palate, opulence and acidity are in balance, with flavours of orange, herby salinity, and almonds. There is that bitter saline note , before that finish with hints of smokey iodine and orange. Give this plenty of air, maybe decent for an hour, to let it sing. Refreshing, yet complex and thought provoking, and perfect with food,, this is a serious gastronomic wine that will continue to drink well over the next few years.

I have had a few bottles recently where the wine was fine but nothing too out of the ordinary when opened, but is stunning the following day. Says to me that it doesn’t need drinking any time soon (a bit too late for that conclusion!). Wonderful balance between highly structured and quaffable. There’s a reason it is so popular!

This continues to drink very well; no rush as this still has plenty of salinity and energy keeping it very fresh and the fruit is still fresh melon with some garrigue. Delicious with fish tacos.

An exceptional rosè with a long lovely finish. Flavors and complexity that deepened as it got some air. Lots of minerality, some apricot, sour cherry, gravel, and sweeter notes like watermelon candy on the finish

Popped and poured , didn’t take notes, was quite nice, strawberry notes really stuck out, moderately long finish, wife really liked it. If this is a bad vintage I’d really like to see what a good vintage is like!

Decanted for 1.5h then back into bottle and brought to Erik's house. From memory. The wine really came together about 3h after decant. Beautiful, seamless flavors of strawberries, some ripe raspberries, bitter, green herbs and a lovely mineral streak. Medium body with excellent concentration and depth. Just drinking really well with air. Looking forward to see how this ages.

What is there to say about Tempier Rosé that hasn’t been said? Pretty much nothing. It’s more than a consistent producer of lip-smackingly superb rosé. It sets the bar for most, if not all other rosés. With flavors of melon, basil and anise, it satisfies at an astonishingly consistent rate year in and year out. 13.5% alc. With charcuterie, cheeses and crusty bread. 08.18.22. Highly Recommended.

No formal notes taken, but I have to say I really enjoyed this. Perhaps a bit primary and lacking nuance, but the explosiveness and freshness of the fruit made it an absolute delight. Really interested to see how this might do with age.

23 months after the prior: This seems to have picked up some pleasant weight and complexity. Strikes us as a top rosé — but still, nothing compared to the amazing L de H bottlings. Very enjoyable over three nights, fading a bit on the third.

Better as it warmed up out of the fridge. Light strawberry, cantaloupe and watermelon rind. Cantaloup/melon flavors add good /complex intensity to the wine's overall palate. Soft/rounded texture.

Great rose; easy to see why this can command $50 a bottle. Nose is savory, dusty herbs, smells like strawberry and crushed cherry. Very serious but still fun and relaxed. Palate is medium bodied, great acidity, warm desert spices, watermelon rind, long savory finish. Beautiful.
Lovely, just like most vintages. Good acidity and that trademark oily viscosity on the finish. Drink 2022-2028. Technical score: 92. Enjoyment score: 92.

Savory nose, good intensity. Very generous, powerful, mouthfilling palate indicating a warm vintage. Yet so much freshness, minerality and especially so savory. Spicy, very long finish covering the palate. Just so much substance and flesh here on which to further age. Outstanding vintage of this classic, a bit riper / broader than normally maybe but just so much here. Drink some now and keep some for 5 years. 18/20

Starting to get a bit more vertical and serious as the fruit drops out, leaving some blood orange, melon rind, angostura bitters, and macerated strawberry. A little high pitched, but crisp acidity, and giving off some thiols in the glass as well.

In a very good place right now. No reduction anymore, lovely complexity, still vibrant and youthful and with a silky texture. For my palate this is à point, but it will age at least three years longer.

-- popped and poured on Day 1; revisited on Day 8 -- -- tasted non-blind over a couple hours on Day 1 --
NOSE: very light aromatics when it still had a chill on it; lightly fruity with some pleasant green elements; overall, much lighter on the Nose than I've come to expect from this bottling. Day 8: more expressive than on Day 1; lightly peachy florals and tangerine; still on the lighter side, however.
BODY: pinkish brass color; medium-light to medium bodied.
TASTE: slightly oily mouthfeel; most action is on the mid-palate, and pretty lacking at the front and the back; much better near room temp. than chilled; strawberry water (very light flavor). Day 8: little bitter purple grape aspirin note now; light warm woodsy tones and richer fruit on the palate today than on Day 1 (still light, however). Overall, hoping I caught this at a closed period in its life because as it drinks today, it's pretty boring and unimpressive. Gut impression score: mid 80s.

One of the first beautiful days of spring in the Netherlands - time for the first bottle of Tempier rosé! This 2019 is showing very well now, the reduction has all but subsided, the aromatic expression is nice and complex, the fruit is ripe but fresh, with a silky texture, firm and dry but flowing and elegant, perfect weight, very good persistence.
Salmon skin with yellow tinge. Melon and a combination of grapefruit and orange peel. Medium weight, excellent glycerine feel, and quite tannic finish. This is doing just fine, thank you.

Shows the burst of ripe fruits, savory notes, and saline-like minerality typical of this top tier producer. Also the youthful exuberance and baby fat at this stage. Young Tempier Rose is always so opulent, I find myself wishing for more acidity and structure, which invariably shows up after a year or two in cellar.

A very light rose, almost peach/orange, or salmon.
Strong white peach, nectarine and stone fruit in general, followed by secondary floral notes, and also lychee and almonds.
Quite full bodied for a rose, buttery, reminiscent of a Chardonnay in mouthfeel. Dry, herbal, nutty, touch of tea leaves and summer hay. Very smooth. A relatively long finish that evokes a savoury, almost olive brine note.
Unexpected notes but delicious. Great summer wine, would pair well with a cheese board.

Rose Tasting (Our house): We first drank this along side a Pibarnon, and a couple other Bandol roses, then I came back and compared with some of the rosato's. In comparison with the others, this is more complex, with hints of savory and even earthy accents. Complex, refreshing and first class rose. I had really hoped that the Pibarnon would be indistinguishable from it, but this was more complex and interesting in comparison.

First taste of the 19 and it is quite good! Ripe melon, sea breeze, peach pit, lavender, and strawberry on the nose. The palate is fresh and vibrant as usual with lovely depth and concentration and a classic juicy finish. I think I like this better than the 18 but would need a side by side to confirm. Very good nonetheless.

I pulled this from my cellar for National Rosé Day (because of course, that’s a thing). Poured a very pretty, deep pink-salmon color. On the nose, forest strawberries, melon, and blood orange. On the palate, brambles, strawberry, and citrus fruits. A fabulous body with lovely acidity too. Dry, low tannin and long…over a minute with minerals dancing on the palate at the very end. A killer rosé. Complex enough to ponder and yet delicious enough to want to crush over and over again. Universally adored by wine people and non-wine people present. I wish I had cases and cases but I’m luck to find single bottles of this anymore. Drink now but you could probably hold for the next 3-5 years without penalty.
In a perfect spot now. Very nice deep orange color. Intense appealing nose of sanguine orange, red berries, cloves. Dry, medium body, good acidity, very intense, spicy and fruity flavours of sanguine orange and red berries. Very long. For me this is the perfect spot for rose wine, 1year after release. The wine has mellowed and opened and allowed all flavours to shine. Perfect for a bbq on the beach.

Light copper color. Greener, more herbaceous aromatics than I recall from this vintage. Right out of the bottle, I wondered if it had lost some fruit and texture, and but this turned out to be a function of pouring it slightly too chilled. The glycerine, red fruit, and melon happily appeared as it warmed. As was the case with my prior bottle, there is a lot of soil and some tannic harshness on the finish.

Rich and spicy on the nose, with hints of black pepper, and notes of fresh strawberries, asian pears, and quince. The palate bas nice weight and a tannic bite to it. More spices show up in the mouth. Overall not the everyday Rosé but a wine that can stand up to a more compex food pairing like a res wine would.

big perfume on the nose which clings to the memory that returns upon first sniff each new vintage, red berry, salty air, peach and orange zest scents, expressive with a spectrum of flavors, ranging from watermelon, cherry, and red plum to more florally perfumed nuances, long lasting finish, medium bodied, delicious, grand, in-your-face Bandol rosé
This was tasted and compared next to the '19 Terrebrune rosé; the Tempier is the charming extrovert and would likely sport a colorful suit and tie on a date; the Terrebrune is the intellectual introvert and would likely wear an elegant evening dress, both are outstandingly classy
The Tempier rosé is the better candidate to cellar if aging rosé is the plan

As expected the heavier style of rose and I was surprised but not very much acidity to it. Oddly though I would say it is a wine that's made for food and it was much better when paired with Korean BBQ meats than it was just drinking by itself before dinner.

My first Tempier Rose since 2010 vintage. Disappointed that this wine has become an easy sipper in the modern rose style. More akin to Whispering Angel than the complex, mineral laden Tempiers I remember.
From a bottle that had been opened four days earlier and kept in the fridge with two glasses left. I mention this specifically, because the wine was perfectly intact, the reduction had disappeared and the fruit expression was just glorious. Perfect with cured salmon with soy sauce, furikake and kewpie mayonnaise.

Very flavorful, with watermelon, chalk, stone, rosemary and mineral. So focused and long, with fine acidity and body. Staying power. The nose is in line with the palate, with some stone fruit as well. Drinking well today, I am sure this will age as they typically do. Drink now - 2029.

Ready to go on opening. I get the other notes recommending some ageing. This is not your usual run-of-the-mill-drink-yesterday Rose'. It has more complexity than other standard Rose's and should develop in bottle. But that's the quandry for us as we prefer the in-your-face-with-fruit Rose's meant to be drunk immediately. We're easy that way. And during Phoenix summers, lighter is better. That said, this is very good if your expectations are adjusted to match what's in the bottle. This is savory and complex...and we finished the bottle in one night, always a good barometer of how much we like it. Other CT notes mentioned peach, pear, leesy creaminess and those are good descriptors. My wife preferred this in the Syrah glass while I liked the New World Pinot/Rose glass. FWIW.

A blend of Mourvèdre (approx. 50%), Grenache and Cinsaut. Fermented and aged in stainless steel and concrete vats. 13,5% alcohol. Tasted blind.
Pale pinkish rose color. Somewhat understated, slightly reductive and quite linear nose with very youthful aromas of fresh peach, some red apple, a little bit of cantaloupe and a red-toned hint of raspberry. Very fruit-forward and quite primary overall feel here. The wine is fresh, youthful and slightly oily on the palate with bright primary flavors of peach, some pear drop, a little bit of sour apple candy, light lactic notes of yogurt and leesy creaminess, a hint of stony minerality and a touch of alcohol warmth. The overall feel is quite balanced with the rather high acidity. The finish is ripe and juicy with medium-long flavors of ripe peach, some spicy red apple, light cantaloupe tones, a little bit of leesy creaminess, a candied primary hint of pear drops and a touch of stony minerality.
A fresh and drinkable but also very linear and rather harmless Bandol rosé that feels just way too primary for its own good at the moment. The wine is all about almost candied primary fruit flavors and unintegrated lactic notes, both of which make the wine feel like an inexpensive everyday rosé from wherever. My guess was a rosé from Provence, but suffice to say, I was both surprised and disappointed when the wine turned out to be a Bandol rosé by Tempier. I love Bandol rosés, but this lacks the power, depth and concentration of those wines. The combination of ripeness, high acidity and understated minerality make promises of aging potential, so I am willing to give the wine the benefit of the doubt: I am keeping my fingers crossed the wine will drop its primary character after a year or two and come across as more serious, classic Tempier Rosé with time. At the moment the wine feels quite overpriced for the quality at 28€, since it really doesn't offer much what a 10€ rosé couldn't bring to the table. If you have bottles of these, do yourself a favor and let the just wait. You won't regret it.
Served blind with Other widespread French Rose's: Whispering Angel and Domaine Triennes. Certainly the most fruit forward and refreshing of the group. The nose was quite expressive with grapefruit, and citrus fruits dominated the palate. My first experience with Tempier and I'll be back for more.

Beautiful light salmon color, this has that amazing, explosive nose that this wine can have in its best years (and before those aromatics dissipate with time in bottle), orange melon, florals, light spicy garrigue; the palate is lush, floral, perhaps more fruit and a little less spice than in some years, impossible not to guzzle, that Tempier spice comes out more on the finish. If you love this form of the wine, as I do, this is a worthy contender to the all time best 2007, and wonderful 2012. If you’re one who likes to sit on this and let it age, I urge you to try one now to see it’s fabulous fresh side.
Revisit next day: everything is still here, but, as I was starting to notice a little later as I sipped on this last night, there is a definite sweet character to this vintage, showing some more obvious ripeness. Drink a little more chilled than you might normally. And, in my opinion, this is a vintage to drink young, I don’t see it holding very well, even into next year.
Aroma: elusive and beguiling with suggestions of lime zest, herbs, minerals and watermelon. Palate: rich and almost creamy with a lovely interplay of melon, mineral, herb and even nutty flavors. Moderate acidity but lithe on the palate. Very good.
Clear pale salmon. On the nose rose, raspberry, nectarine, orange flower, a touch of spice. As it warms up, turns more herbal and fresh. Raspberry jelly, strawberry on the palate, but the lovely acid suggests also a tartness of redcurrant. Structurally, starts with a somewhat oily texture, then pithy orange, rising rapidly to a peak of acidity and mellowing thereafter to a long a little bit spicy finish. Strong structure provides a backbone for the strong fruit which I always look for in a rosé. What an adventure.

Popped and poured. Pale salmon color. Floral strawberry notes on the palate. Crispy acidity. Lively red berry fruits just roll over and coat the palate. Excellent persistence for a rose as most of them are thin and flaccid. Not this. Very good balance. Medium plus finish.

The nose & palate: Strawberry, cherry, kiwi and lime. Vanilla & Jelly with oak and spices at the end.
Very delicious, fruity and complex. Great on a hot summer day & goes well with pizza. Could last 6-8 years, but this one would benefit from a couple of years in the cellar.
Bright and vibrant. This shows a pleasant tannic edge, with an equally appealing suggestion of bitterness. Very enjoyable over three nights, and gaining along the way. It seems well poised to develop substantial complexity.

Great, sweet, nose of cherries, peach and flowers and matching palate with the peach and cherries being joined by raspberry and minerality. Couldn't resist trying one early even though it sometimes takes a while to show its best after the voyage to the west coast. No problems here though. Very pale pink/copper. Herbs and citrus rind with a twist of melon. Bright, pure fruit and acidity, some glycerine but perhaps not quite as lush and mouth coating as some vintages. Soil filled finish that is also quite tannic. My early read-a terrific vintage of Tempier rosé that will benefit from a few years in bottle. I'm curious to see what happens over the next several nights.
Still lovely texture, acidity, and fruit the second night, but the earth and significant tannin at the end really do argue for setting this aside in the cellar for a while.

Outstanding rosé that, surprisingly, lives up to the hype. Absolutely gorgeous nose with strong floral notes, cherry, strawberry & stone fruit. Extremely elegant on the palate. Complex, floral, mineral and just delicious amount of salinity to bring you right to the beaches of Provence. This is the first time I knowingly tried this iconic rosé. Not sure if this is a particularly elevated vintage or if it’s consistent with other vintages- but wow. Really special wine.

Fresh, elegant, and complex, this noble wine benefited from 1 hour prior aeration in decanter; getting the service temp correct is well worth the effort. Didn't miss a step over the following 90 minutes. I need to find magnums of this, it's that drinkable. highly recommended
Just arrived. A blend of 50% Mourvedre, Grenache and Cinsault, direct press, aged for eight months in steel and cement, 13.5% ABV. Another wonderful vintage for this wine. Decanted, because it was a bit reduced on the finish. Treat like a light red wine and drink at 13-15 C if you want to experience all its lovely nuances. Very aromatic and complex nose (peach, greengage, citrus, flowers, hay, fennel, spicy minerality), lovely definition and depth; silky-smooth but fresh and dry palate with a lovely tension between paper-fine tannins and succulent fruit, well delineated; excellent resonance and length. Great now - 2023.

Overall not the everyday Rosé but a wine that can stand up to a more compex food pairing like a res wine would.

Tannic. Strong nose. Cigar, leather. A bit too tannic for me. Let this sit for 2-3 years and try again.

big perfume on the nose which clings to the memory that returns upon first sniff each new vintage, red berry, salty air, peach and orange zest scents, expressive with a spectrum of flavors, ranging from watermelon, cherry, and red plum to more florally perfumed nuances, long lasting finish, medium bodied, delicious, grand, in-your-face Bandol rosé

Drink now - 2029.

a bit tight and delicate on day one; more open day two with burnished quince, nectarine, and slate; nice texture, though i don't get the glycerine of recent vintages; good acidity that gets coarser as it warms up; savory dry and balanced.

The nose & palate:
Strawberry, cherry, kiwi and lime. Vanilla & Jelly with oak and spices at the end.
Very delicious, fruity and complex. Great on a hot summer day & goes well with pizza.
Could last 6-8 years, but this one would benefit from a couple of years in the cellar.
Medium tannin.
Medium+ acidity
Full body.

Great, sweet, nose of cherries, peach and flowers and matching palate with the peach and cherries being joined by raspberry and minerality. Very nice and smooth texture, with a little hint of grapeskin bitterness. Slightest touch of heat but certainly one of the best Provence rosés I have had, and it was my first Tempier.
