This is a very sophisticated Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc, much more going on than you’d expect from the standard offer. Has a stoney gunflint edge to the classic NZ SB characters you’d expect to find. But nothing is to excess and it has a creaminess to go alongside the racy acidity. Long finish.

It’s good, just not as vivacious as previous vintages, less of the zingy freshness and tropical fruit to counterbalance the green and mineral edges. Quite flat in conparison. Drink soon while still some life.

High Acidity Medium Alcohol Medium (-) Bodied Medium Finish
Medium (+) Intensity - Lemon, Grapefruit, Guava, Passion Fruit, Green Apple, Elderflower, Grass, Asparagus
As always, a benchmark NZ sauvignon blanc, mouth-watering acidity, loaded with citrus fruits and herbaceous notes, great to pair with Southeast Asian food, at this price point, you really can't ask for more. Drink now.

Elegant and refined. Am not a huge fan of NZ Sauvignon Blancs but this is such good quality. It is still so very fresh, still very “young” in taste. It has the usual features of grassiness, sharp acidity and green apple flavours but so well integrated. I detected a strong hint of perfume, particularly in its length. A cracker!

Fabulous summer wine. Super fresh and quite linear. The finish is incredibly long and pleasant. I have to say that I much preferred this to the 2019 vintage.

Now here is fantastic hot summer day wine. Aromas of passionfruit and lime. Palate is crisp with passion fruit, grapefruit ,grass, cream, saline and lime. Acidity is nice and perfect that you will have no issues polishing off this wine quickly on a heatwave day like I'm having right now lol

2020 vintage. Seems a little more restrained than previous vintages. Good acidity with subtle NZ SB palette. Stone fruit, some flint and granite. The acidity works really well across these flavours. Very good.

Excellent NZ Sauvignon. Balance and delicacy on the nose with some mineral tension. Mouthwatering juicy attack with sweet lemon, grapefruit, grass. Long finish. I slightly prefer the Section 94 with the little bit of oak but this is the best unoaked NZ Sauvignon I’ve had

91/92. My first try of this iconic rival to Cloudy Bay vinified by 2 former colleagues of its ex star winemaker Kevin Judd. I met him at a London winetasting in the mid 90's and was impressed with his affability and his lovely wines at Cloudy Bay. Has original a bit funky aromas of petrol hints, cut grass, slate, lemons, limes and stonefruits, and spice. Its energetic medium bodied a bit highish acidic and freshly fruited, nicely minerally saline greengage palate has lovely textured depth and good freshly fruited peppery length. 13%. This is quite different with its petrolly notes but nice! Its not boring!

Flint and stone, of course very tart, but this also seems wrapped in a roundness juicy fruit. Some herb or onion, and a long drying finish. Something special about this wine, beyond the standard NZ SB.
