PnP. Nose of lemon meringue, Acacia honey, minerals, and some light grassy notes. Palate delivers a crisp, racy beam of lemon and tropical fruit with vanilla, some fresh herbal notes, and loads of minerals. Long finish of lemon/lime acidity, white grapefruit, and wet round stones. Outstanding!

I hate to admit I am rapidly going down the Burg rabbit hole… damnit! While this is typically not a domestic preference for me, I do still appreciate well made yummy CA Pinot/Chard. Beautiful mouthfeel, great nose, red apple, Lychee, lemon, lime, key lime, passion fruit, peach, medium acidity, nice finish. Well done.

Decanted for 60 minutes in a Grassl Carafe at 55 degrees in a U-Line U-Chill. Consumed at 55 degrees over the next 2.5 hours our of a Sensory stem. The wine was paired with sashimi.
The color was a yellow gold. The aromas were of a light lemon, flowers and cut grass. The initial taste out of every glass I poured was a little pungent but then it mellowed out. I'm not sure if I was detecting a bit of heat or something else but it either smoothed out in the glass with a few swirls or my palate adjusted to it. The flavors were of lemon, key lime pie, pie crust, butter and a hint of vanilla. The body was medium with medium acidity.
A little more cellar time may help to further balance the wine. The wine was enjoyable but I prefer the UV Chardonnay at this stage.

Definitely needs air as the first taste on opening is a bit rough. Smooths out and gains complexity with air (60 mins or so). The first time I used the Pinot Bowl, second time (stored on nitrogen) it was more plush on the palate out of the wide mouth Chard glass (first time using that in forever!). Both times it was lemony and elegant with creamy viscosity. Ultimately liked the UV better as it was more to the vanilla/butterscotch side of Chard which I like more than the lemon side. Give this some time in bottle. Opened now just to get a sense for what I might want to purchase from the upcoming release.

Thanksgiving Napa tasting (Napa Grill (Zurich)): Melted butter, light wooden notes, vanilla beans, green pear and fresh apple fruit with a rather cool profile. Nice detail and pretty discreet. Crisp acidity. OK overall, but lacking the buttery texture and minerality I would be looking for.

Couldn't resist and cracked this open. Golden color. Fresh and dynamic on the nose, with lemon, lemon curd, white orchard fruits and vanilla. Same notes carry through the palate with apricot and almond. CSIMM gets this right, however, regarding the woody flavor on the palate and finish indicating this isn't quite ready. Really well crafted wine with the all the elements for something special; needs more time to integrate.

Very light golden color. The nose consists of fresh cut lawn, Myers lemons, hibiscus, limes and apricot. Wonderful layers of lemon curd, key lime pie, honeydew melon, pineapple and pears. Terrific layers and a mineral enhanced finish that lingers for a long time. A very enjoyable wine. I can't wait to try the UV vineyard sourced wines.

Orchard and stone fruit, mineral undertone, good acidity and a nice finish. Wife “my perfect Chardonnay” we need to get them out here. Love those two.

Napa - All my COVID finds; 4/29/2021-5/5/2021 (Napa): The nose reminded me of a lemon bar and the palate had a fresh citrus profile. Was richer than the UV

3 days in Napa: Arkenstone, Memento Mori, Maxem, The French Laundry, Christopher Tynan, Kinsman, Harlan, Vice Versa, Accendo, Fairchild, Macdonald, and a truckload of others (Napa): Lemon curd, pie crust, vanilla bean, and a touch of dried apricot notes make for an affable delivery of flavor that kick-out mouthwatering essences drawing you in for another sip. Though the wood influences on both Maxem wines were crafted the same, the perception of vanilla oak is currently more prominent with the Lucky Well when directly compared to the slightly more enticingly nervy UV. Drink the Lucky Well now and over the next 3-4+ years.
