Pale lemon color, clear and bright. Aromas of lemon & orange peel, hints of quince, crushed rock, sea shell, petrol, white florals. Crisp and succulent on the palate, showing edgy lemon cream fruit along with hints of unripe pear, rose hip, anise and sandstone. Lean but giving in structure, underpinned with vibrant integrated acid and dry zesty salinity on the finish.

I keep reaching for this bottle. Its not like other wine. At this QPR, and this acidity and precision of flavors, it is a different wine. Look at my other TNs. Love it!

Keller really knocked 2020 out of the park on the small wines. So much concentration. Lemon, chalk, chamomile. Very balanced and way too easy to drink right now.

Another bottle. Still my go to trocken Riesling wine. I especially like the first few sips. The precision and acidity is just awesome. Over the last few years the GGs of Keller have increased in price around 3 fold. The mid range of wines have also been edging up. But this base level cuvee is just so good and definitely gives you the house style.

By the glass at a restaurant that offers dry aged steaks and really expensive Japanese beef, pasta etc. Obviously a previously opened bottle but this is an excellent value top producer's Trocken Riesling. When very chilled, very prominent acidity and mostly lemon notes. As the wine warms up a bit more, the wine's mineral character starts to develop and come into the foreground, along with floral and slightly earthy notes along with a hint of a green apple tartness. There were some minor (wax) petroleum like aromas in the mix somewhere, and the acidity held up to a variety of food, from the seared foie gras to the abalone dore (best pairing), the cheese in the tad too salty onion soup, and didn't interfere with the rigantoni all' amatriciana (the sweetness of the tomatoes and the slightly oily part of the sauce worked well with the Riesling's acidity), and it was quite fun to see how it would hold up to a dry aged smokey filet mignon (it did work, although I wish I had an aged Chablis Grand Cru for that). The acidity started to fade towards the end of the meal (and good timing at that) and the wine evolved to become a nice sipper. This was the best BTG option at the time and it was interesting to taste this with foie gras.

Interesting TNs on this one. I'm one of the believers. This is a great base level trocken and is a benchmark of the style at that base level. Oodles of acidity with big juicy fruit. At the $27 I paid for this - well worth it.

NOSE: lime, green apple, gumstarch and trace lees (a pattern in recent 2020s.) Soft arcs of green flowers reveal, by contrast, brittle bedrock. MOUTH: sure clarity and gem-textured substance. The finish is typical Rheinhessen wry, with a savory lash of oil seed and green thorns. I view this wine as a split personality (Zwillinger?) A) it can be a disarming part of the furniture; it will have no problem in a corporate setting. Or, B) in its gravitational core is a turbulent fountain of brine, herbs, lemon and pepper, all engaged in active exchange. It’s 99% finished. With a little time and stress, the gauzy, 1% veil of fermentation will lift, and an unambiguous, classic statement will suffer no denial.

Its a basic dry Riesling. Citrus, stone fruit, white flowers. Any other producer and this wouldn't warrant the points given. It pretty, but overly acidic...meaning out of balance. Its simple. A quaffable Riesling. Buy it, drink it... don't hold it... but it is way overpriced for what it is.

After decanting and pouring a small taste, it appeared quite shy on the nose at the beginning, so to speed things up I splashed it between two decanters a few times. Improved a bit, but still on the quiet side. Lemon oil, honeydew melon, and finely crushed chalk. On the palate, a bit of a tree fruit profile emerges along the citrus with with anjou pear and quince paste. Snappy but the acid seems down from the 2019.
Initially the finish seemed a bit short, though with some time it started to unfurl, especially as I leaned into it's delicate chalky and mineral structure. It's not a boisterous finish, but a rather a cool-toned one that one needs to lean in to listen to. AP 01 21

Lots of white and green stone fruit, melon on the nose and palate, citrus acidiy balancing out the round mouthfeel. Hints of salinity and mineral in the finish too. As it chilled, more green apple notes appeared as well. Great showing for a dry riesling, will stock up on more!

A little rough around the edges, but this may actually improve in meaningful ways by next year. Honeysuckle, lime candy, and a hint of petrol on the nose, with a really vibrant cirtusy acidity and wet stony minerality on the palate. It has the building blocks of a great value wine, especially to drink with food. For now, it can use a little bit of time. 90.

Back in NYC (Francie): Off the list at Francie. This was paired with a fish course. More interesting than the price tag would suggest but that often seems to be the case with riesling. It's a bit of spicy and dry and crisp.

Juicy trocken! Aromas of crunchy white and yellow fruit, lots of citrus, a little red raspberry and tiny tart strawberry, white flowers and minty herbs as well. Fresh, stony, tart and mildly herbal on the palate. Finishes with juicy tart citrus and intense wet stone notes. Excellent trocken, should be worth following at least a few years, but I would take advantage of its juiciness and drink it in the next few years.

As always very wellmade Riesling. Dusty limestone meets zingy citrus fruit. pretty notes of white flowers mix well with delicious saltwater - lost for words... the taste is tight and with stringent acidity. Bone dry and with a slight savory finish.

3 hour decant. Took a while to settle.
Yellow stone fruit on the nose, followed by a very light, Chablis like ocean spray.
Pickled peach, lime, and chalk. Long, dry finish, and flashy acidity throughout.
If I can avoid drinking these, they'll be better in a year. Very nice.
