  • On Day 1: Yellow colored, on the nose and palate, a lighter version of the 2019 Cahill Lane, consumed earlier this week. With airing, the oak became overly prominent. On Day 3: The oak has softened, and the wine is very balanced with slight bitterness in the finish. Tropical fruits. I like this style very much, this is very good, but I have had some better wines from Hansel. If I had to score this, it would probably be a 90, but for now, judgment reserved. Then... with food (broiled salmon) this showed really well. Rich, exotic. (91) I would recommend giving this time in the bottle.

  • Wow. What a difference a little age makes.
    Lemon flesh in color.
Over-ripe stone fruit nose. Not particularly enticing.
Tense, great acidity. Some tropical fruit notes. Longish finish. Absolutely delicious. Wine has balanced out nicely. CSe worthy at this price. Drink closer to ambient room temperature to really experience all this wine has to offer.

    Salmon/shitake dinner pour moi....was delicious.

  • Light gold in color
Loads of ripe yellow apple, pineapple, oak, vanilla
Big, bold, round, tastes like the nose. Medium plus finish. A very robust classic Californian Chardonnay. Went nicely with salmon and French fries by Britt. She did not like the wine. It has a slightly creamy mouth feel. A well made wine, but stylistically not quite up my alley.

  • Drank this at Koma during a product launch dinner tonight.

Gold in colour with a complex nose and a sharp, focused finish. On the palate the wine presents layers, dimensions and depth. Think fresh citrus, dried straw, ripe apples, vanilla pod, butterscotch, flint and fresh minerals, touch of whiskey.

Resembled a good Chardonnay from Yarra Valley.

  • Medium golden yellow in color. Full, forward & attractive nose of ripe fruit aromas of apples, pears & citrus notes of lemons/limes with overtones of smoky, flinty & floral notes of honeysuckle, minerals, stony, some butterscotch notes, spices & a hint of vanilla/oak in the background. Medium-full bodied with a very good concentration of well balanced & smooth texture, ripe flavors of apples, pears & lemons/limes with butterscotch, stony, minerals & a hint of oak/vanilla. Lingering finish. Drinks quite well at present but has the fruit & structure to continue with its development for a few more additional years if cellared properly.

  • Really lovely over three nights. Excellent wine. Textural and deep(ish), ripe / baked apple, lemon, not sweet and even at times having a savory edge, nice acid, medium-long finish.

A really nice sub-$30 USD buy.

Next bottle in a couple of years.

  • A lovely Chard and a bargain at $28 (Bottle King). Oak is in the background, the classic Chard flavors are all there, if mild. We still prefer Beringer Reserve by a point but it's a tad more expensive at $32.
