Salone di Grandi Vini Bianchi (Mirabelle Restaurant Austin, Texas): A light, straw color with fine aromas of fruit, sea salt, forest floor, and rose, which blew off and developed into some complexity. This was the favorite of the flight, as it had clean acidity and rich flavor notes of pear/apple, spice, almond, grass, lemon, and some minerals. It had excellent balance and a nice finish, with some lingering honey and peach flavor, and reminded several tasters of a dry Alsatian pinot gris.

Vin de belle couleur, jaune avec léger reflet or. Nez de melon, de citron et de pêche. En bouche l'acidité est marqué avec un léger goût de rancio. trop cher.

Drank at Bottega in Napa with Tina and Joe. First bottle of the night opened out of the cellar and a tad cold. Not much nose or palate off the bat, but started to show great subtlety as it warmed a bit. Honeysuckle, a bit of grass. Nice wine but not a knock out.

The color is a light golden yellow. the aroma is non existant. The flavor is predominately citrus with a touch of oak. It is drinkable and went well with dinner but it is not an outstanding wine.

nettles and honeysuckle. not much structure for the long haul: really could not find that much acidity as per other notes here. But enjoyed this very much with a soup based on jerusalem artichoke/zucchini/white truffle oil/chicken stock.

i got to this one on its second day open, and it was fantastic. fresh and pure on the nose, clean on the palate with vibrant acidity with a eucalyptus honey and mineral finish. lots of dimension and complexity to this wine, the material is just excellent here.

Purchased from the list at Bartolotta in Las Vegas. NV. Light yellow color in the glass. clear hue throughout. Nose of wet stones, straw and a bit of lime. Flavors of minerals with light notes of lime and peach. Medium acidity, light bodied. Drink now.

Picnic in the back garden with Mike and Marina. I usually like Arneis about as much as Rhone whites, which is to say, not that much, because I find them to be somewhat fat and round, lacking the acidity that I like, and just not that interesting. But this Giacosa Arneis was an exception, and really showed quite well last night. Good palate presence without being fat or dull, good purity, with white flowers, hay and solid acidity underlying.

Didn't take any notes, but this was an excellent bottle. Nice tightrope between richness (for an Arneis) and elegance. The good acidity kept the wine nicely focused.

Nose was rather simple with a little nuttiness. This bottle seemed a little flat compared to the last bottle. Flavor was mostly nutty. It just seemed like it lacked any verve or acidity.

Crisp, aromatic and evocative of the vineyard. Aromas of orchard fruit, wet stones and straw. Flavors of apple, nectarine and mown grass with a lively acidity and a bracing, gravelly core

Light gold, nose is floral. Palate of pears and apricot. Not as full bodied and refreshing as the last year or two, but i still enjoy this Paired very well with apricot stilton cheese appetizer and quiche.

nose - fragrant, nice, floral. Mouth - the overriding character is the minerality of the wine. It has a hint of floral character as well. The midpalate is a bit hollow, and overall lacks acidity. No off flavors, and an almost sweet finish - overall a good accompanyment to food, but I found it a bit lacking in flavor.

Light gold in color. Nose is very nice with sea air and some sort of nuts. My first of this vintage, but nice as always. Clean and round with the nutty flavors taking stage.

Similar to an earlier bottle, but a little fuller, creamier and more polished. Shows more of a apple/orchard-fruit profile than the earlier bottle did,

Pale straw color. Very pretty floral nose. The palate shows a distinctive melony note, as well as some vanilla and creaminess to it. Was much, much better after it warmed a bit. 89-90.

Half Italian Night (Rittenhouse Manor): Straw yellow, with lively aromas of mineral-laden citrus and a lurking floral element currently dominating the nose. In the mouth, the wine really struck me as almost racy, at least not the lush and full-bodied palate that Antonio Galloni describes, but then my experience with Arneis is minimal. And I might have been influenced by the decadent Zind-Humbrecht Grand Cru we had just finished. A bracingly good drink, I need to find some of these...

Annual Gala (Casa Jay): Interesting. Completely different from the last two vintages tasted. I still enjoy it quite a bit, just different. Not quite as much weight and creaminess. A bit more grilled pear, yellow apple. Still maintains beautiful acidity. Definitely a food wine. Nice mineral streak. Can't wait until next vintage.

Labor Day Weekend Get Together: Still very good indeed, but I'm not sure I'd put it up there with previous vintages. Not as pretty as previous vintages, but still has a decent amount of richness. Long finish, with lots of floral qualities. If drinking for the first time, I'd probably be a bit more wowed, but previous vintages were so damn good.
