The past few years have added a lot to this wine. Now, you find a more elegant, supple, silky wine with a focus on its core of truffles, plums, and chocolate. You still find a touch of greenery in the finish, but there is so much more going on, it is easy not to be distracted. Drink from 2023-2035.

The wine is given 30 mins of decanting before serving. Truffle, perfume, red currant, spice and perfume on the nose. Weightless power on the palate with long finish. The 00 La Fleur Petrus is feminine, subtle and expressive. It is drinking well.

Having a group of wine friends over for my birthday and blind tasting some Bordeaux 2000 while BBQ'ing. Expressive nose here with mocha, toast, dark fruit and some earthy elements. The palate is lush and soft with great balance, or overripe or over-extracted, just right. Most people guessed right bank. At peak, drink this wonderful bottle now and over the next years.

The 00 La Fleur-Petrus has a beautiful nose even without any time in the decanter, giving off a big blast of Périgord truffle, black plum, pencil, and a fresh herbal accent. Not particularly fullish on the palate by Pomerol standards, but fresh and lively, energetic and balanced. But I didn’t really get to see it evolve. Immediately upon opening, there was just the faintest suggestion of possible cork taint - but by the second glass it was undrinkable. Based on the very positive initial showing, a starting score would look like 93-94 points.

A beautiful nose with its truffle, flower, dark plum, cedar and tobacco leaf aromatics. Lush, round and sultry on the palate with good weight and freshness. The finish shows off lots of ripe black cherry, plum, cocoa and strong green herb and pepper component. Some will like the older-school approach here, but it is mildly intrusive in my book. Not enough to deter me from drinking it, but enough to notice it.

Medium, clear and shiny ruby color. Nose of red and dark fruit, sweet spices,, very merlot, floral elements too and a touch of herbs and underbrush. Crisp on the palate with pronounced acidity, not your lush Merlot but rather slender with a lot of nerve. In a good place to drink now and will benefit from a short decant.

Very sweet nose. Fig, prune, cooked fruits, tea, spices. Taste this along side vintage 1982, personally prefer 1982. But I guess most people will prefer vintage due to the freshness and approach. I wonder when 2000 approach 38 years, willl it beat 1982?

Wow..what a nose....pipe tobacco, blackberry, truffle, bitter chocolate, red flowers, raspberry, ash, graphite, charcoal, and spice with a touch of pyrazene and menthol that is just so damn intoxicating. Palate is so lush but lean at the same time....not heavy at all but so poweful. Finish is long and complex.

A beautiful nose, great mouth feel and nice finish. While pleasurable, it was not complex and left me wanting, like many bdx from the 2000 vintage. Hopefully, I get the chance to try this again in 5 or 10 years. In fairness, note this was served alongside 1990 and 1998 La Mission and was outclassed.

Some TCA like aromas. Sweet and meaty fruit. But also somewhat rancid and tannic. When comparing with other notes on CT I am quite sure this must have been a bad bottle.
Ruby red. This is delightful — mocha, leather, red raspberries, and mint literally burst out of the glass. Medium-bodied in the mouth, with red fruits, earth and chocolate on the palate. The finish is long, with gentle grip and good cut. This is exactly what you’d expect — a very nice Pomerol that is squarely in its drinking window. Drink now - 2025. 94.

Very sexy, right out of the gate. Soft, polished and sensuously textured, the wine serves it up right out of the gate. Mixing mocha with truffle, dark chocolate, black cherry, spice and mint, there is freshness and silky, ripe, red fruits in the finish. OK, if you want to quibble, there is a touch of green pepper, probably from a lack of selection, but there is so much pleasure in the wine, it is easy to skip on by those details and just enjoy the ride.

Bordeaux-themed Night (La Fleur Petrus) (Extra Space): Tasted blind. Poured into decanter and drank over 3 hours. Appearance is clear, medium intensity, ruby colour. Legs. Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of green capsicum bell peppers, cedar, pencil lead, blackcurrant leaf. Developing. On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium+ alcohol (13.5%), fine soft medium+ tannins, full body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of spice, mint, cedar, green capsicum bell peppers, blackcurrant leaf, blackberries, juicy crunchy red cherries, pencil lead. Medium+ finish. Very good quality. Can still develop for another 5+ years. Good mouth-feel, soft and elegant classic claret feel on the palate. Was expecting something riper for the 2000 vintage though. Bad QPR. Not worth the price. Day 2: Emergence of some chocolate notes. Pencil lead more apparent. Green herbs slightly receding. Well, better but still no X-factor.

This is what Bordeaux is all about! Has all the makings of a perfect experience in flavor complexity and nose. Just not as explosive as other mammoth experiences..Heaps of coffee, loam and earth on the nose with a fresh and full mouthfeel of tobacco, cedar, and red and black fruit that just shine with vibrance and acidity to drive the long, focused finish. Lots of focus in this bottling. Its f'n wines like this that put me back on the street looking for wine to further expand my growing stash...DRINK or HOLD...WOW! PS_If you don't like this, don't waste your money seeking any more Bordeaux!

Decanted and drank over 5 hours. Needed 2 hours for the nose to come alive but even then it was fairly restrained and full of dark fruit , damp earth and touch of violet. Full and smooth in the mouth. Medium + finish

What a nose of red berries and ripe cherries, chocolate, herbs and kitchen vegetables, tobacco and meat. Harmonious, beautifully integrated and probably at its best already! Smooth, quietly present and charming on the palate. Good length. A memorable wine and good example for the feminine La Fleur-Petrus style, which was clearly supported by the low acidity outcome of the 2000 vintage.

Unbelievable. Sumptuous. Something in the nose and mouth , I am not sure what, that keeps this from being perfect. Only been open for 20 mins. Maybe it will relax as the wine opens.
Big nose full of roses, smoky tar and spices. After a while a slight touch of horsey barnyard starts to shine through. You can smell the intense concentration of the wine. On the palate the wine is just perfect! Quite smooth with just a slight astringent finish. The concentration is compact and a loooong lingering aftertaste.
Unfortunately I did not have enough to make a proper analysis and will not score. But looking at 94-96.

Horizontal blind tasting of 10 Bordeaux wines from the 2000 vintage tonight. On the nose this has a Cabernet Franc profile showing, with dusty gravel road, nice green herbs & some smoke. Really nice nose. Fat and good Merlot fruit on the palate, quite mature and ready for enjoyment. Perhaps not a very sophisticated and complex wine, but drinking good nevertheless.

There is a beautiful sense of purity in the fresh, clean, ripe, dark cherry fruits that are made even better with what seems like layers of shaved truffles and dark chocolate. Soft, polished and silky, drink this now, or age it another 5 years for an earthier experience.

This was drank at a local restaurant after a short decanting time. This slightly cloudy wine was garnet red in colour with a nose of red berries and some candy. These same notes were found in the glass but there was also a noticable sour taste (not an aftertaste) that could best be described as lemony. Although this bottle was slightly disjointed tonight and not my favourite of the ones that I have drank it was very drinkable and enjoyed by others at the table.

Drank at a downtown restaurant after an hour of decanting. This wine had a clear ruby colour with a bit of tawny. A pronounced nose of red cherries and caramel which was also what was tasted. Very nice levels of tannins and acidity. Pleasant all around.

This was opened and poured immediately at a local fair. Although I don't specifically recall much about it, I did enjoy it. Lots of cherries and other red berries in the glass.
If you like the idea if sensuous, opulent textures, flowers, chocolate covered, ripe cherries, truffle, earth and boysenberry, with a long, decadent, fresh, pure finish that makes you want to fill and refill your glass, this is the wine for you. I know I loved it!

I opened this at home and drank it over the next 4 hours. Initially the wine showed promise but in the end, it failed to open up. Pale with a slightly orange tinge to it. The wine was also slightly matted in colour. In the mouth, the wine had tastes of blueberries, caramel, chocolate and a slight amount of oranges. The acidity and tannins had a nice balance and I loved that this wine was only 13.5% alcohol. On the down side, there was still some hotness to the wine. I'm not sure that these bottles will get better.
Postscript: had the leftover glass 22 hours after opening and would rate it a 90. I guess it needs some time. Prunes added to the tasting notes.

Very deep colour. The wine is very concentrated, more so than I remember from previous bottles, the fruit being intense and reminiscent of damsons: perhaps it has matured. There is also some spice and a hint of smoke. Good length. A very fine bottle.

What a sexy little beast. Plummy, spicy scents get your attention. But the plush, rich entry and wonderful mouthfeel keep you in the game. This is already so good, if you have a case, pop a bottle. Raffles Hotel 120th Anniversary event (Raffles Hotel, Singapore): A very attractive, pretty wine, with a sweet nose of plums and cherries with nice earthy layers. Sweetish on the palate as well, but powerful and focused with cherry and peppery spice. Well support by a good acid backbone, smooth tannins with a slight bittersweet kick at the end. I agree with a previous TN about a little lack of finesse.

Solid purple color right to the rim. Decanted for 2 hours. Intriguing nose of rasberry liqueur, cilantro and cinammon. very nice. The palate was lively and suprisingly elegant for such a youngster, layers of ripe plum, blackberry and hickory smoked pepper steaks coat the mouth. Still very primary, a wine with great potential and suprisingly present backbone of acidity and ripe tannins - which i loved. At this stage I could have never guessed Pomerol, but fantatic wine to be cellared another 3+ years.

A very fine claret: mature, with soft, rich, plummy fruit, some spice, a touch of fruitcake, good weight and length and very elegant. No hurry to drink.

Deep colour, garnet; quite intense nose of fruit cake and spice; mature plum/prune fruit, rich and full, and with good length. A slight woody element, but otherwise fine.

A deep colour, brick red; plum and spice on the nose; similar nuances on the palate, which is soft and rounded, with a velevety texture; rich fruit cake flavours and good length. A stylish, concentrated wine.

Delicious and extraordinary!
