Lovely aged Burgundy, the depth and finish showed its pedigree. Bit of smoke and damp mushrooms on the nose, a hint of spice that made me guess Vosne which made sense since this plot is right on the border. Fully resolved, drink up before the acidity takes over.

Had it along with Robert Chevillon NSG (thank you BurgNick). I feel the Meo was still relatively young in at this stage, more polish and red fruits driven than the Robert Chevillon, can see further ageing potential for this wine. On the nose and the palate, Meo offered more red fruits, forest floor, wild flowers, and modest yet fresh meatiness.

Sweet red fruit, stems, animal, mint, herbs and spice. Expressive on the palate with good length. Drinking at a beautiful spot. A very polished nsg. 92+

Drinking very nicely right now. Lots of spice on the nose, rich red and dark fruited flavours beneath gently framed by more savoury elements and a very polished, refined texture.

Chicago Berserkerfest Dinner #2 (Sun Wah): Slightly restrained red and black fruit aromas with moderate spice. Everything in harmony of the palate, well textured and balanced with lots of subtle charm. More complete for me than its 2000 counterpart in the next glass, also with more upside from here.

Chicago Berserkerfest; 5/18/2013-5/19/2013 (Chicago, IL): I think 1998s are, generally, drinking well right now. The fruit here seemed nicely resolved with great depth and purity to the fruit and earth with a softer palate than other vintages. Another example of a vintage that's accessible but won't break the bank.

Cherry (red) fruit, earthy, mushroom but with bitter finish. Medium acidity, long finish. Long finish (soya sauce notes at the end).

Thirteenth Annual White Truffle Dinner (Chez Weber - Chicago IL): In Méo-Camuzet 98/99 Boudots/ Brulées flight. Mostly red fruit with good weight, length and balance. Vosne spice hints. Charming throughout. Probably at its peak.
