Drank from a magnum. Deep golden color. Not much happening on the nose; did not open up over the course of a 4 hour dinner. Very thin and very short finish.

Opened up beautifully with some time in glass. Initially this showed aged caramel notes, which gave way to honey, citronella and mineral with air. Lively palate with plenty of acid and citrus notes. Very nice.

Medium gold color. PNP, drank several glasses over 3 hours. Lemon oil nose, wool, spice, saline, limestone. The palate is filled with lemon oil, lemon peel, tons of wet stone, lemon pledge, limestone, wool, very brisk, and quite long with only the most subtle nuances of oak now. Last bottle, best yet. Still in great shape. These have so over delivered.

Much better experience than the last bottle a month or so ago. No detailed notes, but there was a lot more complexity and nuance here than just the apple I picked up in the last bottle. The pairing probably didn't hurt - mushroom risotto and grilled salmon.

Consistent - A small pour at a tasting. I really enjoyed the full-bodied flavor of this chablis along with the minerality and acid. This drank more like a white burgundy than a chablis.

Fourth of July Weekend (Rocknroller's (Kevin & Vicki's Place)): Light medium gold color. 2 oz pour. We've had a number of these over the last few years and they never disappoint. Always a bit atypical for traditional Chablis as these carry more oak and a more full bodied style that crosses more into white burg territory. That's not a bad thing, just a difference. This bottle was one of the best I've had; smokey, hazelnut, toasty oak, lemon, very vibrant on the nose with seashells and saline. The palate delivers all of that and more with a full bodied and slightly oily texture where the lemon, brine and minerality comes through with toasted oak on the finish. This also had an interesting savory thing, almost like a bit of summer sausage - different, but good. Glad to see I have one of these still lurking. 92+pts.

Mixed Bag at Kevin's (Minneapolis, MN): The best of the Chablis wines for me. Complex with mild oak, shells, sulfur, spice and golden delicious apples. Medium to long finish. Good acidity. Drink now to 2022 for maximum enjoyment.

A very excellent bottle of Chablis at a great age to drink. Golden color. Some more restrained nuttiness in this one as compared to other bottles. Acidity level holding up well.

Transparent gold in color. Nose of marmalade, oil, smoky oak. Full bodied Chablis with a strong flavor profile and maybe slightly sweet with ample acidity and minerality to back it up. Long finish. Quite an intense Chablis.

Medium gold color. Drank 2 glasses over an hour plus. These are always fun to drink. A nice pairing with my Dover Sole Meuniere accenting the lemon and body of the fish and lemon butter. This wine starts out with noticeably more body with an oily texture, lemon oil, hints of tangerine, nice depth, and then the minerality and sultry oceanside smells and flavors become more apparent and this builds on both the nose and the palate. There is a sense of some wood influence, but certainly not excessive. Good intensity and overall balance.

One of the best I've tasted. For the big boys though nothing outsized about this wine. Everything perfectly placed. Body, deep color of gold, lemon zest, oak barrel, a little wine cellar funk. Grabs your attention and says, 'Hey there, coming through'.

Best time to drink. Hitting its stride - could not get enough. The wine looks light gold colored. The legs are medium. Aromas and notes of grapefruit, lemon, cantaloupe, melon and apple blossom. Medium body with a silky texture and noice acidity.

A Mix of Older Napa Among Others (St. Genevieve, Mpls, MN): Light-medium gold color. Drank 1 glass over 30 minutes. This was considerably different from the previous bottle I had. This showed considerable oak, toasty, vanilla, honeyed, toffee, lemon, butter brickle, mineral. Seemed more like a white burg than Chablis tonight. Good, but atypical.

Dinner at Margaux's Table (Margaux's Table, White Bear Lake, MN): Light gold color. Drank 1 glass over 30 minutes. This was the first time having this vintage. I had been impressed with the '07 version, and this was not disappointing either. I get the earthiness and distinct seashore aromas and flavors intensely on the nose and palate, there's an oily texture, lemon, lemon oil, some bright apple notes, good lift and persistence. Very good.

I feel like this bottle was ever so slightly advanced. I was expecting some mature notes given the bottle is 9 years old, but this seemed a little too far down that path. Will need to wait til I have the next bottle to know for sure.
From magnum, this is a step up from the '07 with richer fruit and a longer finish. An eminently drinkable wine that was universally praised around the table. Terrific value, would re-buy all day long at $65.

Monthly goup Holiday Tasting 2016 (I Nonni): Drank a small glass at a tasting. This chablis is more full-bodied than most, while still having the saline and minerality that is the hallmark of the region. Golden yellow fruit, light oak and a slightly rich mouthfeel that offsets the minerals and acid. This wine stood up to a 2013 Kistler Kistler vineyard, which is saying something.

Another good showing. This wine is in a good spot currently. Clean palate, seashells, chalk and bright fruit, along with a hint of vanilla bean. Good, brisk acidity underlying. Nice complexities, per Chris. Superbowl, my place.

Great showing. More in line with my first bottle than the bottle I brought to Piedmont for Thanksgiving. Interesting array of flavors and nuances on the palate, including lemons, bright acids and a touch of creme brulee. Loved the energy and nuances to the palate. Grew more complex with air. Much better than the 2007 version of this wine that I had earlier this month. In Hallandale.

Begins with a burst of tart yellow fruit, lots of acids, then quickly cleans up from yellow to clear fruit. Grippy texture. Lots of bright acidity, long finish, tart apple, really dry in the mouth. Lots of fruit here, lots of acidity, full in the mouth, really quite impressed with this. The palate is just a touch creamy, resembles Chassagne to me, but is buttressed by such huge acidity. Wow. On the second night, more in focus, yellow fruit with a touch of hazelnut and a strong butter creme element. Salted butter. Acidity still bright. Very interesting and enjoyable. Bottle 1 of 12.
