This wine is drinking as well I would expect for a 12 year old constructed chardonnay. It has a lot of depth. Nice viscosity on the tongue. It paired well with chicken picatta and mashed potatoes. The lemon of the dish was complementary. Yellow-honey color and served at 50 degrees made a nice experience. I did not find it too oaky but I got those forward vanilla notes others have noted and then some pear and pineapple notes. Still perfectly balanced at this juncture without any flatness. It still has adequate acidity if you wanted to cellar longer, but would not go to much longer. I have one bottle left. Should have bought more. Actually a gift

Pop and pour - consistent with previous tasting notes, and delicious from start to finish. If this bottle is indicative, no need to rush to open; this has plenty of life left.

Golden yellow. A little too heavily oaked when cold and or chilled, better balance and flavor as it came to cellar temperature. Off bottle ? Golden Delicious Apple, but still too much oak and vanilla in this bottle.

Out of magnum. Huge wine and too oaky. Vanilla bomb. Had a short window of "pleasantness" but as it got air, it burned up. I don't think I'd buy another one of these. Not my jam.

Most of my previous tasting note applies to this bottle, but this one is just better across the board; more balance, more fruit, more minerality, and any rough edges have been smoothed out. A quite nice chardonnay.

Aromas of lemon meringue, vanilla, mineral and sea salt on the nose. Very expressive and captivating nose on this. A full throttle chardonnay, this has flavors of marshmallow, banana, mango, butterscotch and a touch of minerality. Love the Ritchie Vineyard! A excellent Chardonnay and exquisitely balanced.

Brought to Dovetail and served as an aperitif and with the first course. Closest thing to a Corton-Charlemagne I've had in recent memory, with amazing bouquet, the peach/pear fruit in perfect balance with the caramel/oak, and a magnificent burnt cashew finish.

Opened last night. Had a few glasses, re-corked in the fridge, and TN from today. Light straw in color, fading to colorless at the rim. The nose of this 6 yr old Cali Chard is developing, showing med+ intensity aromas of cinnamon and hazelnut from the prominent oak; red apple, lime, and mango as well, with a limestone component noted in the upper register. The palate reveals a dry wine, full in body and alcohol (listed at 14.4% abv). Te flavors are med+ intensity pineapple and mango, with a med intensity nuttiness and spice that is evident from the oak. The acidity is med, the finish is med+, echoing the flavors from the palate, carrying on a nice spiciness. This is a very good quality wine, nice complexity, and quite well balanced for a big, bold California Chardonnay. It is at its apex and drinking beautifully now, and although it will not likely further improve with bottle age, it should continue to drink nicely through 2018 or so.

Creamy, with nice fruit, and a hint of sweetness. Not a lot of acidity to start but a bit more came through with some air. Deep golden color that has aged well.

A Friday Afternoon at Domaine (Domaine Wine Storage, Chicago IL): Nose: The nose is stereotypical with rich and buttery tones of creams, marmalade, vanilla beans, oranges, oak, and some custard tones. There is good depth to this, but the oak is a bit on the dominant side.
Taste: Full bodied with lower acidity. The palate isn't flabby so much as it's very rich and oak dominated with tones of vanilla, creams, oranges, custard, and oak.
Overall: This held the style well, but the oak and oak influences were a bit over dominant. This is a big chard and it needs to be drunk sooner rather than later.

This wine has been open a few day, in fridge, b4 I got to this TN. Medium straw yellow in color, fading to a pale rim. Nose is clean, showing off medium intensity, developing aromas of flinty gravel, smoky oak, and fruits including apple and quince. Palate shows a dry wine, with full body and med+ alcohol, listed at 14.4%. The flavors are med+ in intensity, and include apple, lime and pear, stony minerality, smoke, and ample buttery oak. The finish is 30+ secs, showing off the oak, butter and apple/lime flavors. This is a complex, layered wine that shows nice pedigree. It comes at a $60 price tag, and is a high quality wine. It is drinking beautifully now, but will continue to improve and drink well over the next 3-5 years or more.

Pop and pour. In the glass, clear yellow-gold. On the nose, oak, wet slate, and peach. On the palate, honeysuckle, oak, and a touch of charcoal, with moderate acidity on the finish. This seems a bit unlike previous vintages of the Chloe, less fruit forward than usual.

Absolutely gorgeous in the mouth Medium mouthfeel (a light-side CA chard). Rich in mellow tropical fruits, some peach and a bit of nutmeg. This wine will likely be one of my Top 10 of 2012.

Decanted and returned to bottle, served at 62 degrees. Dumol chardonnays always seem to peak as I get to my last glass, finding the right drinking window takes some patience I tend to lack. When at peak the wine is full bodied with lots of tropical fruit while maintaining crisp acidity and mineral notes. Always sad to see the last sip go.
