Sampled 2/17/12. Opened 3 bottles. One was a pop an pour. The second run through a Venturi into a decanter about 30 minutes in advance of drinking it. The third bottle was decanted for 10 hours. Hate the purple rubber stopper as it's ability to hold a seal is questionable and each bottle is a crap shoot, but all 3 bottles were in good form. The pop and pour was closed and the tannins had some bite. The Vinturi one was much smoother a bigger nose but still a bit closed. The 10-hour decant finally allowed the wine's nose to break out and explode. Besides black fruits, floral elements were abundant. Inky purple color with a huge nose and body as you'd expect. Nice overripe black fruits and currant dominate, some sweet Oak, a little bit of green underbrush. Very smooth, with slightly less complexity than the '02.

Dark cherry glowing on the edge; the ¼ tsp of funk remained in the bottle. Smells like creamy bramble berry pie without too much sugar. Coffee followed by chocolate and boysenberry and blackberry. Held in check by a fancy plastic cork-like stopper. Brilliant!

Intense, muscular, rich, fruity (but not too much) wine. After two hours in the decanter the wine really came to life, of which it has lots left. It was even better on the second day.

I wish I knew what this stuff was supposed to taste like but this was pretty delicious with big flavors of plum and earth that could stand up to any big food - ribs in this case. This should be way more popular than it is.

Fresh off 12 hours in the belly of the plane, and only a few moments in a decanter, air travel did little to harm this beauty. Rich coloring and deep black fruits. Fruit doesn't slap you in the face, but is definately present and nicely balanced by tanins. This really coats the inside of your mouth with a lush, lingering finish. Slightly hot on the way down, but outstanding overall. Time will serve this well if I can stay away from the last bottle.

Didn't take detailed notes on this, but was opened and allowed to sit (not decanted) for about an hour before drinking. Syrupy consistency with deep purple-black coloring. Great fruit aromas with blackberry and dark fruit flavors. Really just fruit, not much of the graphite or mineral characteristics often found in syrahs

WCC Petite Sirah Blind (Provence Restaurant, Albany, NY): [Double decanted around 1pm.] Big, rich, blue fruit compote. Alcohol is high, but the wine is balanced. No votes for WOTN.

VinoCellar.com 4th Anniversary Celebration (Wineries and John Ash Restaurant, Santa Rosa, CA): Tasted at the John Ash Restaurant in Sonoma, CA as part of the VinoCellar.com 4th Annual Celebration. All I remember about this wine was its velvety texture and big tannins. Probably needs some time to tame the tannins.
