Lovely mature champagne at its apogee, it shows an amalgam of butterscotch, pink lady apple, and macerated strawberry. At this stage, I would hope for a little better concentration but it has all the olfactory enjoyment of a wine still hanging on to youth as its tertiary notes poke through. Drink over the next 5 years

(Disgorged in fall of 2010, 65% Pinot Noir and 35% Chardonnay, whereof 15% still red wine) Maturing orange colour with a fine stream of small bubbles reaching the surface and leading way for the maturing nose showing freshly baked bread, hazelnuts, strawberries and minerals in a very nice and pleasant way. Delicious on the palate showing red bottles berries and citrus acidity combined with a lovely creaminess and a very fruitful sweetness on the finish. This has evolved very well with the extra time in the cellar, and should keep for many years to come.. (Best 2017-2042)

Drunk with grilled lobsters.. superb fit, as it's a gastronomic champagne! After a life of18 years, I was afraid it would have passsed its peak..definitively not..! I've been amazed by its youthfulness. I noted an unusual copper hue, a delicate stream of very fine bubbles, a mix of red berries, ripe pears and some smocky hints. Overall, a wonderful wine, structured, with a lingering finish I believe it an still hold 5 more years

Deep pink with an orange hint. On the nose peach, red berries, yellow apples, hints of smoke and nuts. Delicate mousse. Good energy with medium acidity, quite a lot of fruit and a smooth, silky feeling. Very elegant and harmonious. Drinking perfectly now but no hurry. Will last. Lovely wine.

(Disgorged in fall of 2010, 65% Pinot Noir and 35% Chardonnay whereof 15% is still Pinot) Lovely copper red colour with a stream of very fine bubbles and a lovely nose showing fresh baked bread, wild strawberries and minerals in a very nice and seductive way. Excellent palate of fresh strawberries with a refreshing acidity, very elegant fruitiness on the mid before the nice and lengthy finish showing even more fruitiness. Wow, what lovely development this has had with extended cellaring, kept in my cellar for seven years and now opening up showing an excellent rosé champagne focused on elegance and refreshing fruit and the last few steps before transforming into the next step with more tertiary notes and intensity that will come. What a tremendous Champagne. Beautiful salmon pink appearance. Sensual bouquet of oranges, raspberries, red currants, and a kiss of bottle age. Clean, crisp, and airy, it floats across the palate with effortless grace. A shy bead and juicy acidity gives freshness and lift to hints of toast and spice before closing with a refreshing mineral aftertaste. Structured, elegant, and long, this is starting to hit its stride.

Copper red with a surprising number of bubbles. It has the color of an aged champagne but with the bubbles of a much younger wine.
Upon opening, the powerful, vinous nose was dominated by redcurrant, other red berries and bready notes. With time, leather, wood and some spices (cumin, cinnamon) appeared. I could hardly pick out any chardonnay notes, with the PN very dominant.
On the palate, the youthfullness was matched with some good maturity in a very harmonious palate. Still dominated by red fruits and a bit of undergrowth.
Overall, I think this wine is in a good spot. It is not yet tired, but I think the wine is peaking from 2017-2022.

Pol Roger Tasting (Sunfish Cellars): A small glass at a tasting. I thoroughly enjoyed this. I found an earthy, powerful, almost old world champagne. Yet it remains lively. There is just a hint of strawberry, I might not have guessed Rose if served blind.

Pol Roger Tasting (Sunfish Cellars, St. Paul, MN): Pale salmon color. Drank 1+ glass over 30 minutes. There's a bit of brown sugar or burnt creme brule on the nose, yeasty, pear, red berries, cream, citrus peel, good balance, very clean. 92+pts.
Light bodied, with gentle effervescence. The edges are well rounded on this, with pleasant mouth coating acidity and candied strawberry flavors. One of my favorite Champagnes of the year.

I like this wine but for me it just isn't worth the price. This bottle was not quite as good as the last one I drank. - On the palate notes of cranberry and tart red cherry were a bit duller than the flavors in my previous bottle.

eh... I see now that I should have read my previous note. Still pretty wound up but some nice orange fruit and starting aromas of development such as rust/leather. But just a little bit too subtle in the mouth. Needs yet more time but it's never going to be a fantastic wine.

I didn't take notes at the time of drinking. I remember being somewhat disappointed. It may just have been the bottle so I reserve judgement on the series. This bottle had subtle red fruit of raspberry and cranberry. The acidity was good and there were notes of bread. The balance was a little off and I was hoping it were a little more integrated. for this bottle it may have been better if it had time to open more before drinking. I will give it a little more time for the next bottle. 91+

Pale salmon; Initial nose of earthy funk, slightly mushroomy, fading after the first taste and then on later whiffs, faint strawberry notes and then a rich cake frosting when the bubbles settle; Gentle effervescent mousse coats the tongue and opens into a crisp and delicate red berry essence; a harsh edge toward the finish initially, but with time smooths out with some nice creaminess and a clean rich ending.

Patience will still be rewarded, I think, but this is clearly beginning to resolve and showing signs of what's to be expected. Lovely intensity and fragrance in a very easy, laid back way. Will improve, but great match with sushi for the time being.

2011 Masters of Wine Champagne Tasting (San Francisco, CA): Copper color. Lighter nose with some yeasty red berry aromas. Medium bodied palate surprises with an unexpected vibrancy. Flavors of strawberries, cherries, and what I think is olive weaved nicely together across the creamy palate. Terrific balance. Medium-long finish. Good overall value considering the potential. Fantastic quality with an intriguing character – my favorite rosé of the tasting! Hold for now.
