not blind, Magnum Typical 2009, drinkable but not really fresh (especially compared to the Felseneck 2009), even no petrol and not oxidized. Typical expression of the vintage. 91

“Ten Years After” 2009 Dry Riesling Tasting (Private Location): The baroque nose is dominated by yellow fruit, acacia and also some notes of mustard and some pickled cucumber. Ripe and round on the palate. Missing a bit the cut and the precision. Very balanced on the mid-palate. On the back end I get a bit of a bitter not. Good but not really "my" wine.

10 years after Riesling tasting - 2009 (@Private location, Esslingen): Glass: Zalto Universal *** just some brief notes, no full details, rating in context of the vertical tasting *** Opened about 10h before, not decanted. Tasted blind. Youthful pale golden color. Beautiful ripe and rather baroque nose with lots of ripe stone fruit and acacia. On the palate also very baroque in the best sense: Wonderful perfume, ripe, sweet fruit, herbs, acacia and some zesty, bitter notes at the end. Great pressure and tension, round and balanced, nice length. Quite youthful with great potential. Now the second time that Idig positively surprised me! 93-94+

Nose of bruised tropical fruit, lemon oil, asparagus and fennel. Smells a little bit off-dry and feels that way on the palate too. Its a little weighty and feels kinda wonky on the palate. There's ample acid on the finish but it feels kinda buried beneath the weight of extract and sweetness. Has nice length and a core of nice fruit but I feel the structure is a bit all over the place. Maybe needs time.

Glass: Riedel Vinum Syrah Bottle drunk over three days. Clear, pale golden color, lots of tartar. Medium intense, developing nose with flavors of honey, bitter orange zest, herbs, avocado, minerals. Quite different, but very interesting. Dry, ripe, medium+ acidity. Flavors of ripe yellow stone fruit, bitter orange, slight hints of honey (must have some but few botrytis). It is full bodied, but despite of its warm vintage it is not broad or fat. It rest in itself, has a perfect balance. Long finish. Just started to become mature, no need to hurry here. Very good wine. 93 pt at day 1, 91 at day 2, 92 at day 3.

Kräftiges goldgleb. Zunächst dezente Nase, wenig primärfruchtig, braucht Luft. Cremig, reife Avocado, blumig, dezente Honignoten. Reife aber milde Säure, es fehlt die ganz große Rasse. Vollmundiger Körper, lang.

in the nose smoky like a ripe avocado, my friend Thomas said "Curry sausage", ripe yellow fruits, may be a little bit too ripe, acidity lack I think this is the reason why the finish is just middle long, reminds me as typical Pfälzer Riesling, I would drink it over the next 3 years, for me at his peak, fullbodied

Christmann Idig vertical (AuZone, Stockholm): Pale colour. Nose with yellow fruit, some tropical fruit, notes of slightly unripe banana, some apples, a hint of vanilla, some botrytis, slightly flowery. The nose comes across as slightly odd in the company of the other Idigs. Definitely a dry palate, pronounced minerality, a generally fruity impression with hints of a green notes, a hint of bitterness, high acidity, slightly viscous, and an aftertaste with mineral and again some green notes. A good wine, but the small green note comes through when compared to the rest. 89 p To me, this wine does not show a typical 2009 character at all. 2009 is a good vintage with high maturity that shouldn’t come across like this, and I can’t recall any 2009 German Riesling that has been this way. A “closed-down phase” shouldn't really show this way. So the question is if something is a bit amiss with the 2009 Idig in general, or if it was just this bottle that was a little weird.

Popped and poured. Hastily brought up as a replacement for my oxidized Chablis. Medium straw colour. Smoky minerality, ripe orchard fruits, pineapple juice and sea spray on the nose and palate. Slightly spritzy, lacks a bit of concentration on the mid palate and is too low on acidity. Decent stuff, but hardly GG quality.

Generous riesling with mango, citrus, apples and vanilla on the nose. Still young, in the mouth the wine reveals a lot of complex fruit, apples, mango, citrus, and creamy texture. The acidity is somewhat low, but on the whole a very interesting wine! Drinkable now, but I guess another 2-5 years will add complexity. 91+

Not many bottles left so it was easy to detect. I was never a big fan of this site. I know many German Riesling lovers like this wine because they say it is a "long distance runner". I can't understand it maybe I will learn the nest time. Too fat and missing elegance. 92

From Magnum, too broad, missing the precision and freshness, many people say Idig needs time, in this case I don't think so, we will see
