Still bright garnet, almost bright blood, in colour. Beautiful red petal floral my fragrant nose. Lots of lush red berry fruit also. The palate is exquisite with very ripe cherries and raspberries. Mid palate also shows a potpourri and cinnamon fruit cake finish. Still very young with an after tail that lingers for a couple of minutes. While definitely showing constituents in equilibrium this wine is young, a teenager ready to break out of the house! Try again in 5 years.

still in great shape this 2007 vintage in its full apogee: bold red fruit, marasca, some tannins left no acidity left, full pleasantness. Juicy with balsamic notes. Well piared with sesoned Parmigiano Reggiano but perfect also all alone in a proper balonn after dinner for your thoughts

This is what Amarone should be like and so glad I waited for all the parts to come together. It is a hedonistic beauty from start to finish and still has all the warmth and ooomph you'd expect. Will drink well for at least another decade!

Tasted blind. Given an hour of air before serving dried blackberry, plums, dark cherries, raisins, herbs. Classic amarone palate with the impression of sweetness, but well supported by smooth acidity. Relatively well integrated, medium-long finish. This was a crowd favourite. Nice wine. This is good to go at this point!

Sweet sugary nose with a dominant note of raisins. On the palate, it was sweet with notes of vanilla but with a strange astringent finish. Perhaps this Masi was past its peak and was on the downhill slide towards oxidation, but overall, it was very disappointing. We also drank a Tommasi Amarone of the same vintage and there was no comparison - the Tommasi was a far superior wine.

Aromatic on the nose with some dark fruit, chocolate and mineral notes. Medium to full bodied, dense and muscular, showing loads of ripe dark fruit with dusty tannins and some heat pushing through. There is a matured aspect but is yet quite youthful. Great stuff. One of my favorites in the red flight.

Drinking this Amarone on the third day and it is geting better and better, opening up a lot. Wines of this kind tender to be a little bit to heavy and sweet, like sherry. Nose of fruit, cherries, pepper, smoke and wood. A palate of fruit, raisin, and well balanced acidity and tannins. Medium to long aftertaste.

This is impressive, powerful and very rich on the nose. On the palate, though, the wine is not as hedonistic, appealing and full of fruitiness as I had expected. You can somehow feel the aging of the wine: although the wine has probably never been strong in tannins, they are surprisingly soft now, and the gradual fading of the fruit has already begun.

Very intense and practically completely opaque Burgundy red color. Dense and dark-toned, but quite restrained and even somewhat mute nose with aromas pf very ripe plums and slightly pruney fruit, raisins, some jammy dark berries and a hint of cocoa. The wine is full-bodied, concentrated and quite dry on the palate with intense flavors of peppery spice, dried figs, sour cherry and some amaro bitterness, a little bit of ripe and sweet plums and a hint of developed, leathery character. The structure seems to be pretty much balanced with the fruit with moderately high acidity and still quite firm and grippy tannins. The finish is dry, long and tannic with bold flavors of roasted spices, amaro bitterness, dried figs, some pruney fruit and a hint of sour cherry.
Contrasting my previous tasting of this wine a few years back, this time this wine performed much better - maybe the wine was in a dumb phase last time? I agree on my previous point that the nose is still very underwhelming here, but the fruit has started to develop more "Amarone-like" dried fruit aspects to it, fleshing out the midpalate, so that the wine doesn't come across as light (relatively - for an Amarone) as before and it tastes more like how Amarone should, not just a Corvina / Rondinella wine with bigger body and higher alcohol. So I guess that this wine has benefited from some aging and it is starting to be in a nice phase now, but it still doesn't come across as impressive as many Amarones in its price range and although better than last time, this wine feels still somewhat poor value at 38,50€ - there are so many Amarones I'd buy at that price over this one.

Very heavy filled with typical amarone fruit. Excellent. Best Masi Costasera ever. Funny minerality/petroleum. The wine looks purple colored. It smells like raisin, cherry, mineral, vanilla, petrol, black pepper, tobacco, alcohol/hot and sherry. It tastes like raisin, cherry, vanilla and petrol. The body is full. The wine has fleshy texture. The wine finishes long. The wine has high acidity.

Fantastic wine, lots of depth with beautiful spicy follow-through. It has some tannin, but is not a "big" wine so definitely not for consumption with big food like steak. Went beautifully with veal scallopini in a hazelnut sauce.

Actually a very standard and solid Amarone. Not too complex but enough to get you going. Full body with texture felt like tomato juice. It is very true the alcohol smell is a bummer which last for around 90 minutes in a decanter. Afterwards it was acceptable. Still enjoyable.

Nose with ripe dark cherries, some dark plums, spices, some liquorice, tar and oak, with hints of barnyard and perfumed aromas. (Not really any dried fruit notes in the nose.) Explosive attack with concentrated aromas and clear alcoholic bite, a hint of sweetness that probably comes from the alcohol, cherries and dark berries, rather good acidity, spice, medium(+) tannin. The alcohol lingers long in the aftertaste. This is a wine where the score likely will reflect the scorer's tolerance of noticeable alcohol in a wine. I can accept some alcoholic bite in an amarone without complaining, but in this case it is just a bit too evident for my taste. With less alcohol it would have received a better score from me. Because of the alcohol, I find it unlikely that this wine will really gain from cellaring. Tasted from a half bottle.

Typical quality balanced Amarone. On 1st scent is cherry. After 4 hours in the decanter it starts to open up. On the palate is strong fruit, chocolate, strong hints of coffee, balanced tannins and balanced with a medium finish. Could use more time in the cellar and very slightly lacking in complexity when compared to a select few Amarone's.

Appearance: Bright and clear, deep intensity ruby with legs. Nose: Clean, with medium intensity of dried fruit such as prune and raisin, baked red fruit such as red cherries and plum, sweet spice such as cloves, maturity notes of cedar. The wine is developing. Palate: Dry, with medium acidity and medium tannin of silky texture, this wine is of high alcohol and full body. Medium intensity of red fruit such as plum and red cherries, sweet spice of cloves, dried fruit of prune, some kernal notes of cocoa, it has a medium (+) finish. Conclusion: Very good quality level, this wine has a reasonably intense nose and palate with a good balance so even though the alcohol level is high it is not particularly warming. The finish is fairly long also. The complexity is reasonable but with time more diverse and interesting characters should evolve to make it even better. Ready to drink now but has potential to age for another 5-8 years.

(375 ml). You know, I really like Amarone in half bottles. A glass or a bit more is plenty for me. Rich and full (duh!) with black plums and raisin fruit, moderate tannins, good acids. Nose is spicy (cardomon, aniseed) with a bit of heat. B+/B

The 2007 vintage for Amarone is coming around and this one like most i've tasted are already accessible. A classic no frills, well of course frills - it is Amarone! But what I mean is it's predictable which is fine. A rich wine packed with cloves, christmas baking spices, dried fruit, raisins. Quite round with soft tannins. Also has some freshness which will steer it clear of giving palate fatigue.

To be fair, I did not decant the wine for very long. Typical Amarone, with a lot of fruit and residual sweetness on the finish. However, I did not like it as much as the '06. The tannins were still strong, and there was a slight 'hollowness' on the palate. I suspect that it will improve with age and when I try another one, this time properly decanted, I will update my score for this review.

Thick and coating, dark purple in color. Drank over 3 hrs. Wine opened up somewhat after 1 hr but not as much as expected. Muted aromas, but we were drinking out of plastic cups. Blackberries, spices, Clove, Plums and cherries. Not extremely aromatic but somewhat smell tannins... I know that is funny, but it smells crushed grape skins, ripe ones. Big but soft tannins. Deep fruit, acidity mingles with the spicy finish. End lingers on figs and other dark and red dried fruits. With chocolate an expresso notes. Very good , really. I wish I had been able to let it breathe for a couple of hours. Drank at a restaurant, paid 87 cad for the bottle. (SAQ at around 40sh)

Dark colour. Nose was a little barnyard funk at first, cleared up somewhat over 2 hrs to show raisins. Nice fruit on palate - raisins, violet, blackberry with good power though you can feel the alcohol and it just about hangs in balance. The finish was ok but left a little to be desired. Overall a nice amarone that is drinking ok with some air but no real oomph factor.

Very dark-toned nose with full ripe aromas, but nothing else. It feels as though something was not right here: where are the usual suspects of the Amarone nose? Very full, ripe and muscular palate with round, pleasant and delicious aromas. A little bit of sweetness at the top of the tongue, which gets overwhelmed by brawny fruit. Also some acidity to hold the structure up. Still can't shake that feeling that something's not in the right place. Amidst all this fullness, ripeness and everything you notice, that there are no peculiar, raisiny, developed aromas of a good Amarone. This seems to be nothing more than a very full-bodied Corvina/Rondinella red, not an Amarone I'd expect from a wine estate of this caliber.
For an Amarone, this is a surprisingly light wine with no figs, prunes or raisins; instead perhaps a slightest hint of botrytis could be detected, confusing me even more. This 2007 also seems to be pretty mature for its age, despite the 2006 that I tasted no more than half a year ago seemed to be pretty young. Only thing that seems to be OK thng here is the ample tannins and their grippy character.
This is a very big Italian red, but not an Amarone; at least not one I'd expect to have with price tag of 35€. A disappointment in its price range. Go for the older ones, the 2007 vintage is not worth your while.

Cherry and subtle almond on the nose. Bakewell tart like.
Dark fruity tastes with chocolate linger.
Fresh, not too deep. Great pre or after dinner red. Quite light for an Amarone so others preferred if with red meats.

Färgen är tjock mörk röd med långa ben. Smaken är förvånande len med friska taniner. Viol och varm körsbärsgräddglas framträder. En klassisk amarone som behöver sin mat men kan stå för sig själv i slutet på middagen

End lingers on figs and other dark and red dried fruits. With chocolate an expresso notes.
