Decanted before dinner but trying some now. Aromas of green tea, brett, barnyard and funk. Palate is a different story with dried cherry, mushroom, green tea and earth. This probably just needs more time in the decanter because it's a tad unbalanced but the finish was there. Will revisit.
Update: Brett completely blew off and more fruit emerged. This is still nice but believe I waited too long on this one. Should have been in the Mid 90’s.

In my experience the single vineyard pinots really benefit from a few years to integrate and be at their best. Beautiful floral, spice and red fruited nose. Predominately red and black raspberry flavors but there is minerality, some nice touches of vanilla and acidity to give it definition but not make it tart. If you seek earthy pinots this will not be your thing, but this does have great expression of the fruit. Will be good for years to come but drinking well tonight!

Everyone has favorite vineyards. I'm lucky to have a sampling of higher end California wines and over time I have come to recognize that for Chards I like the Kistler Vine Hill bottling and from Aubert in most years the Lauren just sings. I feel the same way about this Dumol Finn Pinot. The other single vineyards are, for the most part, in most years, very good, but year to year the Finn bottling stands out. No different in 2008. Dark, musty fruit on the nose with a hint of camphor. Greasy legs coat the glass. Expectations based upon the nose would not be particularly high, but the minute it hits the palate, it's red and blue fruit, balanced acidity, and a solid, tongue clucking, one minute finish. The 2007 version was even better. While not cheap, this does not make you feel foolish for having spent $?? for it.

A truly amazing wine. The first sniff provides magnificent tones of citrus, grapefruit in particular, accompanied by raspberry and sun warm strawberry. After a while a secondary layer of saddle leather, wet forest floor and simple but lovely wet earth emerges. One taste says there is a slight whiff of brett, but I am not that sensitive to brett so I cannot tell you... The palate follows through in a lovely way with balance and integration as number one keywords. Everything is in place here and nothing is over the top. This is just a very nice wine. just grab a bottle if given the chance!

BYO pop and pour, no decant, despite tons of sediment; and, served in a restaurant where the AC was struggling to keep up with the wall of humidity and heat outside. And you know what? It didn't matter. This wine was singing right out of the bottle, and kept singing the entire evening. Spice, crushed cherries, a touch of wood, wet slate, floral notes all present on the nose; on the palate, plush, saturated but not cloying, ample fruit and minerality coupled with a smooth texture and no sign of tannins. Really nice wine.

Double Blind Pinot Tasting at T&T's (Tina's House): Impressions: Cloudy reddish/purple. Some alcohol on the nose with tart cranberry. Soft entry, exceptionally smooth, with med+ acid and a shot finish. Cranberry flavor predominated, wish it had some additional complexity. 87

Just a beautiful, rich Pinot. Deep but clean nose of smoke, earth, blackberries, and vanilla . Violets and currants up front, root beer on midpalate, with a finish of Angostura bitters.

Big, ripe and generously oaked. It's also beautifully complicated if you keep an open mind. The cough-syrup criticism has merit, but it's also an easy, clichéd criticism of this style. Delicious beverage and a great rendition of this style.

Very tasty, with lots of red and blue fruit and some damp earth notes. A bit heavy on the fruit so after a couple glasses it got a bit tiring...but, those two glasses sure were good!

Saddle leather and subtle pipe tobacco on the nose followed by cassis and eucalyptus with a white pepper finish. Very complex! Quite possibly the best pinot I have ever had. I should have bought more. Unbelievable.

Drinking just great. Poured into decanter and sat for 10 min. Will not drink better. Plenty of life left but can't imagine they will get better.

This wine seemed burned-out a bit, in spite of being purchased from the winery and stored perfectly since purchase.

There is complexity but the oakiness seems to cause an imbalanced wine. Not as smooth and silky as other heavily oaked wines I have had.
Still a good bottle, but overpriced.

Aspires to an extreme potency -- weird for Pinot Noir -- with very sweet fruit followed quickly by cold-medicine. Absolutely un-subtle.
