2001 vs 2002 DRC tasting with a few others; 10/20/2018-10/21/2018 (Marcel's by Robert Wiedmaier, DC and Bryan's house): Expressive big scale nose displaying rich red and black fruit, raspberry jelly, blackberry, roasted nuts, Asian spices and mineral. Excellent concentration, big scale youthful riche dense black fruit, medium acidity and mineral, and a long rich blackberry driven finish. This particular bottle is very youthful. I wonder if the producer prefers the Echezeaux to the Vosne Romanee Suchot. Another wine that will benefit by another decade of cellaring.

Showing there are only bottles...this was much nicer than the previous uninspiring bottle. Nice nose, enjoyable and accessible fruit. A bit of funk going on. All in all a decent drink.

Echezeaux Dinner (Sepia - Chicago IL): Big ripe fruit on nose with lots of intense spice. If tasted blind, I never would have expected this was form 2001 from the ripe start, but the palate was ore classic, lean and characteristic of the 2001 vintage. Fairly lean and precise flavors come through, very linear and long. very easy to enjoy, but this has a Burgundy palate for people who really like Burgundy.

Burgundy Masterclas with Lisa Perotti Brown (American Club): Very poopy with animal nuances backed by inkish extracted dark red cherries. Smelly animal ass! Fresh exciting and lively red fruits. Very good with nice structure. Finishes with even lovelier supple and impressionable fruits to the end.The woodspice increases with the time in the glass.

Dark ruby. Muted red fruit on the nose. On the palate, the pure red fruit is sweet with a mineral edge. Medium bodied with a gentle acidity, soft tannins and a medium-length finish. Not a wow wine, but a joy to sip and contemplate by itself.

Light-medium garnet colour. Aromas of currant, strawberry, cherry, red plum. Medium-bodied, surprisingly integrated tannins. Red currant on the palate. Short-moderate finish, 20-25s. Not my style.

Plain, simple, and unmemorable. Avoid.
