BYO Centropa "vin utenfor Frankrike" (Centropa, Oslo, Norway): Utviklet, mørkeoransje farge. Barsk vin, god kvalitet, men tørrer noe ut.

My sole bottle. Superb cork, no ullage. Burgundy glass. Intriguing nose of sandalwood, raspberry, cranberry, orange zest. Smooth, medium bodied. Wonderfully drying Italian tannins that coat/dry and pucker the buccal mucosa, that's the standout feature of this wine. Long perfumed finish. 15% alcohol is not evident. Made for osso bucco or bistecca. This will age well and soften and maintain it's structure due to those tannins, good acid level and that fruit strength.

1.5h decanted, but would profit from more. Incredible complex bouquet, light notes of menthol, eukalyptus, herbacious and spice, the fruit aromas are not dominant, but there are some red fruits and hints of berries. the nose is complemented by soft vanilla and sweet woody notes. palate: typical rustical barolo notes. same aromas as in the nose. wood, red fruits. the bouquet was more pleasant than the palate. adstringent and very present tannins, but still ripe. some weeks ago we tasted the 2010 cicala, which had much more fruit and was more structured. got better after time, but would suggest waiting another 5-10y or decant more.

- 1.5h decanted - Nose: Medium (+) intense nose with an herbaceous, stony aroma imprint. In addition, nicely but gently coated with dark fresh berries (blackberries, currants) but also red-fruited (red plums, raspberries). Very complex nose that is also tremendously structured. Wow, you don't want to stop smelling. More and more vanilla and wood arrive. - Mouth: dry, medium alcohol, still quite present tannins (slightly unripe - medium), the fruit body is not quite as powerfull as in the 2010. The taste picture is more on the red-fruity side in the mouth. The length is good but the tannins get in the way a bit. - Conclusion: Top in the nose, ok in the mouth. Can last another 10 years. 93 points.

Gorgeous nose. I could live here all day - expensive leather, lifted roses and tar, dried cherry, a lovely savoury / saline aspect.
Palate delivers crunchy berries - pomegranate, blueberry, tannins are fully integrated and coat the tongue. Very long finish. This is luxe stuff
