It’s a really nice Chianti, oops it’s a Brunello. Nice red & black cherry, raspberry. Leather on the finish with some tartness. Bin end for $25 so it works.

Still needs a couple more years to reach its optimum drinking window. Already drinking very well. Great food wine but demands tomatoes or acidic dishes.

Medium garnet with ruby cheeks. Even with air this shows elements of reduction, tightening the nose to straightforward but fairly classic aromas of fresh and dried red fruit, red roses and baked clay-like earth. Supple and round on the palate with sweet red fruit flavors on the entry giving way to fine tannins and bright acidity that liven the finish. One could ask for a bit more depth here, but this is tasty nonetheless.

Enjoyable wine, if a bit disappointing given the strong vintage. A bit tart with some gravelly notes and red fruits. Single note in a lot of aspects, I honestly have not been that impressed with this vintner.

Second Sunday Group: 2014 Chassagne-Montrachet (Neil's): Vanilla, cherry and sour red berry fruit aromas. Medium-bodied, with red fruit on the palate. Medium finish. Good.
