200 Burgundy Grand Crus from vintage 2000, 4-day blind tasting (Singapore): Wow, ripe and bready, rich, sour cherry, some sour finish intermixed with the ripeness. Very good, very elegant. This Charmes showed much better than the other Rousseaus which make me wonder if these bottles were really representative.

Christmas Wimps 2021 - Home Alone 2 table (La Trompette): Soft, sensual, sweet and lovely. Gentle cassis and meat on the nose, some succulent red-fruited zing on the palate, then a very long and exotically-spiced finish. Really great, but potentially on the turn, as it lost energy after an hour or so.

I would have put my left nut on the fact that this was new world. Given that the chef specialises in offal it is probably lucky I didn’t. Sweet, simple, light and spicy. It has an overt strawberry personality. Smooth texture with some stewed rhubarb to the finish. Pleasant but not challenging.

Burg Dinner, Mostly Meursault Charmes and Gevrey-Chambertin Grand Cru (Sepia - Chicago IL): Open a couple of hours, not decanted. Mostly red fruit aromas with an assertive earthy element. More ripe fruit on palate with modest spice. Good balance. At its peak today.

This was really good. Elegant, quite a complex mineral element and beautiful tannin profile make this very enjoyable.
